A little over a month left...

It is crazy to think that the half marathon is in little over a month... like as in 1 month and 5 days!
WOW!
Training for this run has been pretty crazy so far...
I have gone from being so excited and pumped to nervous and feeling a bit defeated.
After Sasha passed I kinda lost it a bit in many ways... including putting training on hold for a while.
This was not too terrible for my running but has put some strain on my health.
Unfortunetly when I get really depressed I get a major eating disorder... not the kind that keeps your from eating. The kind that is eating to make you hurt less.
I have always been an emotional over eater and this did not help with my issues... It has made me gain unwanted weight that I worked so hard to get off and the weight gain has made me feel awful!
Because I am training for this run and can not start a full on diet like South Beach because I for sure need the carbs to work out and run... I have decided to attempt a HUGE lifestyle change.
I started my endeavor last week and have done really good on my step 1.
My life style change is this...
Eat Healthy and do NOT over eat!
Last Monday I started making Smoothies that contain veggies and fruits.
This has been so fun and for sure a learning experience...
Thanks to all the friends and family that have tried the crazy new flavors or smoothies Yummy or not :)
Starting tomorrow I will stop snacking on junk ... I wouldn't say I snack on things that are BAD for me... just snacking in general is something I need to STOP doing all together!
I figure after a week of adding more fruits and veggies my body is not going to be in complete shock when I stop eating so many carbs. I am still going to eat carbs of course... just better ones. Whole grain breads and crackers, replacing the bad with way better.
My goal is to not feel like I am running with not needed extra weight when it comes to race day!

Now back to the race!
I am getting really excited the closer it gets.
I plan on crossing the finish line on May 18th with a HUGE sense of accomplishment...
raising money for a wonderful cause and training with a wonderful friend has just been so awesome and will be so great to celebrate it all after it is all over!

I have raised $1224 and need just $576 more to reach my goal!
Any help would be wonderful!

I cant believe I have come this far and yet still have so much more to travel!

RUNNIN'!

Tomorrow morning BRIGHT & EARLY at 630am is the first time I am meeting with my Team in Training group to do our first run together! 3 miles... woo hooo!
I just finished uploading some songs on my ipod that make me want to dance, hop, skip and even box, hopefully these will get me in the groove of pounding the pavement tomorrow!! HA!

Here is my list in case you are wondering:

(yes, I know some of you are probably shocked at the amount of Rap on this list, but it helps!)

I am a little anxious about tomorrow morning, I have been fighting allergies and some clogged ears (weird huh?!), I hope that does not make tomorrow harder then it should be!

I just keep telling myself that Thank GOD I can run... because there are people out there that can not do what I can. It makes this cause so worth while!

I will keep y'all posted on my progress :)
If you want to help me make a difference you can donate on my Team in Training site by clicking HERE.

I know it is hard to spare some extra cash on things like this... Let me tell you there was a point in my life that I thought people who asked for donations were just beggars. Then I opened my eyes to the possibilities that can come from just asking for a dollar to 2 from someone to help some sort of fund raising. I raised almost $500 when I did the run for Breast Cancer last year! Thats AWESOME!

The other day I looked at my stats and I am getting at least 200-250 hits on my site a day. If you all donated $2-$5 we would be adding at least $400 closer to finding a CURE for blood cancers!

Anything can help! ANYTHING!
On my Fund Raising site there is an option to donate $ Other, no set limit...
This means you can donate $2 or $5, dig in the console of your car... donate the $1.25 you find.
Nothing is too small.

Ok, I am done blabbing about my new venture!
Wish me luck!

Team In Training!

Along with my some girlfriends I have decided to take on a new venture!
With the help of Teamin Training we are all going to run a 1/2 marathon and on top of that save money to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives.

I am so excited about this process! I have always wanted to be someone that can run in marathons. It really has been a dream of mine and now one of my dreams will come true. I start training on Feb.8th and my race is on May 18th here in Dallas! I will be posting updates and my progress throughout my training... and hopefully some pictures as well!

Raising money for blood cancers is something different entirely. I am thankful that I have never been closely impacted by blood cancers. I have known a few people who have been affected and done sites for families that have children who have cancer or have beat it! This is where I want to step in, there is not one mother, father, wife, husband, sister, brother, aunt, uncle, friend, that should have to feel the pain of seeing a loved one suffer... or suffer themselves!
We can make a difference!

Please help me raise some money for a cure!
Here is a link to my site for Team in Training.

Every little bit helps!

Talkin' Trash...

Cans, that is!
All of Travis' toys are now upstairs in the game room turned play room and all the kiddo wants to play with is a trash can... SHEESH!

This last Picture CRACKS me up! What a little dude!

~Some Updates~

Today was the first day I taught a full Strollerfit class by myself! I have to teach a few more before I am certified. (and take a test) I am pumped. I loved teaching class today, I felt confident and totally prepared. I went over my work out last night and had some note cards with me just in case. It was a blast!

I am getting my hair chopped today, thank goodness! I swear I have hair that grows super fast, I just got it cut and it is already back to my bra line. Whats up with that? I will post some pictures of the new do!

Tonight is a Strollerfit Moms Night Out party...80's movie extravaganza!
I am so excited to watch Girls Just Wanna Have fun, wear PJ's and hang out with my favorite mommas! These get togethers are one reason why I love Strollerfit so much. It is great to be able to hang out with a ton of women that just understand exactly what it is like to be a mom!

I have added some pre-made templates on Splat if anyone is interested in a quick change!
If anyone wants to host a contest on their site I will give one of these templates away for free... just let me know and we can get the contest up and running and I will make you a banner to post on other blogs!

Oh and we are having a HUGE garage sale next weekend! THANK GOODNESS!
Anyone have pointers?

Strollerfit...

As I have mentioned in numerous posts I am training to be a Strollerfit instructor. I have taught numerous little things in classes over the past few weeks and have done ok. There are things I needed to mess up on so now I know what to do right, and there are things that have been easy and so fun to do in class. The best part is the support from the other girls!
So, Today was the first day I did my warm-up for strollerfit...
We always do a warm-up in the beginning of class and it is really the most rhythm you need for the entire class. We step tap, grapevine, hamstring curls ect... all to the beat of aerobic music. I have been terrified to do this in class, TERRIFIED. I had my warm -up down, I did it for 2 of the other instructors yesterday and did fine. Then today in front of all the girls in class, I messed up. I started on the wrong foot, which caused the entire class to be on the wrong foot. I was so embarrassed, but refused to give up! I kept on with my other exercises I was going to do and then finished the class up with abs and stretching. I am such a perfectionist I have been beating myself up over this all day. I just want to do it again and get it right so I can stop being a nervous wreck about it!
I never in my life thought I would ever be teaching any kind of exercise class, but again I never thought I would fall completely in love with a group like I have with strollerfit.
I really feel lucky to have this in my life...
Ha, ever thought I will probably have a knot in my stomach until I do my warm-up perfectly in class!

On another note:
I am in the process of getting everything ready for Travis' birthday.
Anyone have a good site to order birthday invites?

Where have you been?

Who me?

Yes, you!

Oh right, well let me tell yah!

Hi there!
Its been a while since I have really been into blogging... I have been so busy with a ton of wonderful new customers and then training for Strollerfit... I have just not had time to write for real!
I went through a funk after the holidays when I really did not want to have anything to do with blogging anymore, but i quickly changed my mind because I started really missing some of my blogging buds! I am the worst at leaving comments but trust me girls, I read about ya every day or at least check in and see if there is anything new to read :)
Gavin and I have been renovating our house... not destructively but moving rooms around, furniture ect... Sheesh we are busy!
So, in the beginning the dining room was going to be made into Gavin's office , we were going to build a wall and everything. Then we decided to move the playroom upstairs on the game room, and Travis' room up also and then make Gavin's office in the playroom, Travis' room into the guest... WOW, confusing? So, our house looks like a cluster of junk... ARGH!
We have most of it finished, but are waiting to move Trav's room because we want to paint and are getting new carpet (THANK THE LORD!) That will be FUN!
The best part is I get to decorate Travis' new room! We are doing the vintage airplanes from Pottery Barn. It is all on clearance (PERFECT TIMING!) I am going to paint a mural on the wall and just make it all fun and boyish! I am still unsure about moving him into a big bed, I think he will prob. be all over the house if we do that! NOT GOOD!
I am going to have to post on Mamavice about a good age to switch the kiddos to a big bed!
Stay tuned for that one!
Other then that, my new header illustration is almost finished then I will be making myself a new blog design! SO FUN! It is weird having someone else make an illustration for you, but she is excellent so I am pumped! YAY! I have to get rid of this Christmas stuff!
Ok, off to real life!
Many hugs!

Strollerfit without the stroller....

I got out of my car today , opened the trunk and went UHHHH OHHHH!
I had forgotten my stroller...
NOT GOOD!

I am still training and have been teaching a little every class...
So, I did not want to miss today, since the faster I train the better for everyone!
(and it has been crazy because of the holidays!)

Thankfully, I have some pretty think-it-through friends!
We used one of the mall cars!
Travis LOVED it and all his little buddies were a bit jealous.
Look at the little dude with his Starbucks soy milk in his little red convertible, don't yah love it!
I stopped in the middle of the mall hallway and took his picture with my cell phone and some guys working at the mall desk thought I was taking a picture of them.
One turned and smiled...
I looked at him and was like " you see my kiddo, in a red convertible with his Starbucks... what a doll... Sorry he is getting the photo shoot today!" heeeheeee!
The 3 of them found it just as amusing!

This is one of those "could be bad situation" turned amazingly well!
Though my arms are already sore from white knuckling the car while we were running and working out... I guess it all about working all your muscles huh?

Straw up the nose.... OUCH!

Today is FOR SURE a Monday!
Thats not so much a bad thing, but after a weekend get away it is kinda hard to get back in the swing of things...
Travis and I got up and went to Strollerfit.. it was a kick booty class!
I swear the instructors are turning into drill sergeants! The last few classes I have been too have been rough, I do love it though, it makes me feel like I am getting a wonderful work out!

Today after class we had a Sitting Skinny Mommas meeting... it is a weight loss group for all the Strollerfit Moms that want to participate in a group to aid in weight loss. We missed the first meeting because I think Travis was sick... I cant remember. Today we went and it was informative but Travis had a rough time sitting still so chasing him made it to difficult to concentrate!
After wards i met with Victoria, she is the main instructor for Strollerfit and I got info and signed up to get trained to be an instructor! I cant wait!

This is where the straw comes into play...
Before the 2 meetings I went to the Starbucks in the mall and got a Venti Iced Green Tea (MY FAV) and of course Travis had to play with the cup and straw. When I finished it we were talking to Victoria and he was in my lap. He was taking the star out of the cup and putting it back in... as you can kinda imagine and about the 3rd or 4th time he whip the straw out and got it right up my right nostril. OUCH! My nose immediately started bleeding... Thanks Goodness the 2 girls I were with were able to get me a tissue because it would have been a bloody mess if I were alone.
My nose is still sorta bleeding. I wonder if I needed stitches. HA, that would have been amusing...
Hey Doc, my son stuck a straw up my nose and it wont stop bleeding....
It really hurt too... Why do strange things like that ALWAYS happen to me?
Sheesh!

Yep, I think my nostrils are way to big if a large Starbucks straw can fit right up one of them with no trouble! I thought only fingers needed to be up there... HAHAHAHAA!

Isnt it funny when you are driving down the road and you pull up next to some one that is digging for gold.. I mean their finger is like knuckle deep in side. EWWWW!
I use to just stare until they noticed someone was watching... then allergies hit.
Now I am one of those people that has to blow their nose constantly and hate it when I am parked or driving next to someone.. I will speed up or slow down so I can blow my nose!

My post totally just turned into nose picking...
how fun!

** My Splat contest is almost over.... Go check it out if you haven't already!**

RACE FOR A CURE 2007

Today was my Susan G. Komen Race for a Cure 2007 even t
I was so excited I barely slept and got up at 550 am to get ready for the big race... we had to be there at 7-715 YUK! EARLY!
It was crazy to wake up to my alarm since Travis is usually my alarm clock every morning...
Almost all the girl from my stroller fit class were walking so I thought I would just walk with them so I didn't have to run alone... it was like a herd of cattle!!!It took us 37 minutes to hit the 1 mile marker.. . so My friend Robyn and I (both kidless) decided to run the last 2 miles...
We crossed the finish like at 51 minutes
That means we ran 2- 6/7 minute miles... GO US!

I was so proud of myself for running so well even though it wasn't the full 3 miles (5K)

I will post some pictures as soon as we get them!

THANKS to everyone that donated!!!! Especially my blogger buds Tasha and Pearl... y'all are the best!
