Home Again... Giggity Gig!

We are back from an awesome weekend for all 3 of us!
We left at about noon on Friday and headed to Austin to drop Travis off with my in-laws!
We stayed for a bit and played until Travis got all involved with Nana and then we left!
While we were there we all made chalk outlines of each other....
Here is Daddy!
Here is Mommy!
Here is Travie!

Then Gavin and I left without one tear (THANKS GOODNESS) from Travis and headed to San Antonio. About an hour and a half drive from Gavin's parents house.

When we got to the hotel we were surprised to see a yummy plate of chocolate covered strawberries and a bottole of wine waiting for us with a note from the lady Gavin had spoken too about our trip.
How wonderfully nice!

The night we arrived we went to dinner at the restaurant in the hotel we were staying at. It was called Citrus and was UPPER FANCY!
It was a 3 or 4 course meal with items on the menu I could not even pronounce!
HAHAHAHA!

This is us at the restaurant... I look like a deer in headlights!

Saturday we got up, had an awesome breakfast and headed to Sea World!
BEST PANCAKES I HAVE EVER HAD!
We waited in line to get in for what seemed like an entire day. It was 100 degrees outside and super sunny... but we managed to survive and still have a wonderful time!
This was the water skiing and boat show...
They did so amazing stuff on that water!
Then we headed over to see Shamu!
I was in AHHHH of these whales. I can not believe you can train and animal that large! I was floored at the entire show, I do not think I blinked once!
I want to be a whale trainer now... LOL!
Then we headed over to the Beluga Whale show. It was super cool because the trainers and other performers did some amazing stunts with and without the animals!
After we sweat about 10 lbs off at that show we walked around got some yummy iced drinks and headed to the Seal and Sea lion area!
Their show was super cool, it was a story about fish getting stolen and trying to find who did it...
The seals are pretty awesome at performing! I was so impressed! And look at the big guy in the middle, doesnt he look like a sweet potato? LOL!

About the time that show was over a nasty storm had started blowing in... It was nice cause the weather dropped about 10-15 degrees! We headed over to the Shark Tank area and watched the diver feed the tropical fish and listened to a few minutes of info about the fishies... it was not as cool as Shamu for sure!

We headed back to our hotel trying to beat the storm and got showered and ready for the evening! We then headed out to the river walk and fought the heard of cattle (IT WAS PACKED) to get to the resturant we were eating at. Rio Rio it was called and it was huge. There were patios and rooms everywhere connected to this place. We wanted to eat outside becasue we were told there would be nice music... HA, all the heard was the booty shaking stuff from the club next door. Not to back, but singing "baby Got Back" when we were suppose to be toasting our ritas to a mariachi band was a little abnormal! Oh, well it was a great rita and good food!

We headed back to the hotel (the street route) and decided to take the night and vege out since we were going to have a long Sunday.
We sat and talked on our super cool patio and watched tv and crashed.

Over all it was a WONDERFUL trip!
Gavin and I had a great time even though we didnt stay out to all hours of the night parting, we did just what we wanted and that was to relax together!
Travis was spoiled rotten at Nana and Papas house.. pictures will come soon!

I can not wait to take Travis back to Sea World when he gets a bit older....
Hope you all had a great weekend!

Our Trip to Austin....

What a weekend!
Travis did amazing on the drive there and back THANK GOODNESS!
Friday when we got to Nana and Papas house Travis was all ready to go! They have an amazing ENORMOUS backyard with tons of room to explore and that he did!
He explored so much he got 2 spider bites on his ankle... SCARY! Nana and I babied and pampered T and the bites until they were almost healed when we left! I tell ya Hydrogen Peroxide is a cure-all! Travis got spoiled with some wonderful attention and only the coolest out side toy I have ever seen! The Whirley Bounce... I think its called! SO FUN! To bad it has a weight limit that I exceed! HA! Saturday, Travis and Papa took a walk to the little airport in there neighborhood and then the older guys and I went to the gym...
well Gavin punked out cause he forgot his shoes so Marshall (my FIL) and I went! After nap time on Saturday we all piled in the truck and headed to this park (Zilker Park) that had a choo-choo train and natural swimming pool...
it was too cool! We all piled on the train that took us on about a 25 minute ride through the park... we passed the HUGE playground, a bridge over the river, a POT convention (REALLY) I mean people smoking pot right in the middle of the public park! CRAZY!
Travis was a little cranky since he was having to take Benadryl for his spider bites :( Poor guy! That night we ate some YUMMY crab and put the kiddo to bed and got in the spa! So wonderful! Sunday we all got up and played outside, went to lunch and had some birthday cake since Nana and Papa did not get to come to Travis' party in March.
We ended the trip with Travis getting a little hair trim from Nana... She does a GREAT job!

It was overall a WONDERFUL trip! We had a blast!
Thanks Nana & Papa for a GREAT time!

Home At Last!

We got home about 145 in the morning... this morning. What a LONG day we had yesterday. The good thing is that Travis slept until almost 11 this morning... I was FLOORED!
California was beautiful and it was great to see the family... but traveling with a 2 year old to "events' was torturous for me! Long story and I really do not want to relive it... All I will say its I missed the best part of the entire weekend because my child would not stop screaming for 15 minutes so I could see my brother-in-law say "I Do" instead we were all dressed up watching Monsters Inc. in the hotel room :( That was just one of the wonderfully EVENTFUL experiences I had this weekend... We did have a few awesome times also... like when we let Travis sleep in the car and Gavin and I got to drive up and down highway 1 for a few hours! LOVED it! It was so chilly outside though so we just admired the ocean from the car windows! I will post some pictures later and tell more about the weekend!
Thank you for all your puppy support!
Hugs

Tis two days after the Turkey...

...and all through my house are a ton of tired people and even a toy mouse. HA!
We got home this afternoon from Gavin's parents house. It was a good trip, cold and rainy but GOOD! We got to see my Sister-in-law (Ashley) and her boyfriend (Mario) and my brother-in-law (Ryan) and of course Papa and Nana... We drove down to Austin on Wednesday and when we left Dallas it was int eh 50's when we got to Austin it was still in the high 70's crazy huh? But within hours the cold front had caught up with us and it was damn chilly! We had a blast the entire time! Wednesday night the young adults went out to 6th street and hung out at a few bars while Papa and Nana babysat the little guy! We went to this one bar that actually had an old Nintendo and Atari to play. We had a BLAST playing Super Mario Brothers! Then we all made it home but the night did not end, Travis was having a hard time sleeping in a new place and being in the same room with us. Gavin snores, I was coughing and the bed was squeaky... sheesh no wonder he couldn't sleep! He ended up being up all night and finally fell asleep for about 2 hours in our bed but I didn't sleep becaue I was afraid Gavin would roll over on him. What a night! We got up on Turkey day and the kitchen was in full motion from the crack of dawn!

Pies and turkey, beans and potatoes... it smelled so awesome my stomach was growling all day! We went for a short walk to try and stretch our legs but because it was freezing, none of us lasted to long. Travis really enjoyed walking the dog and riding on Dada and Papa's shoulders!

We all sat down and had an awesome dinner, My MiL thought it was not as good as normal, but I think she is crazy... it was an amazing dinner! She needs to give herself more credit, that woman can COOK! Every Year we take a family photo usually when the table is set and looking gorgeous, but this year we had a little timer... NAMED TRAVIS! So the before dinner photo was taken afterwards!

We had a relaxing evening, all sat in front of the TV watching football, Private Practice and Grey's Anatomy! LOVE IT ALL! Its good to share favorite TV shows with family! We ended the night with a FUN game of Cranium! Gotta say, the girls kicked the guys booties...
Friday morning we all got up and the guys headed to the shooting range to shoot some skeet. My FiL's new hobby is skeet shooting and the guys LOVED it! Travis took an early nap and Nana and I rearranged the dining room (a little Trading Spaces for fun!) and as we were messing around in her sewing room I looked out the window and saw a deer like 5 feet from us...
I ran to get my camera and got the left shot from the window, then about 1 minutes later out of the dining room window I saw 2 more deer... I grabbed my camera and ran out on the front porch. It was shocking to see them so close... just awesome! I was so excited!

Then we packed up and left this morning... in the cold rain! YUK!
Travis did awesome in the car, he is a champ!
We have 1 month until we go back after Christmas and Travis is going to love it he will get to see his grandparents, Auntie and his other uncle that wasn't in for Turkey day!
What a weekend...

I have to mention that the Razorbacks Kicked LSU's booty!
GO HOGS!

1 Pumpkin Patch + 1 Neighborhood Party=

A ton of fun stories and GREAT pictures!

My cousin and her 2 boys (4 & 2 1/2) came in yesterday for the weekend... We had a weekend planned of fun things to do, so this morning when Travis woke up with a cold we still went on about our business... so please ignore the snot in all the pics, LOL!
This morning we loaded everyone up and went to this awesome pumpkin patch about 20 minutes from where we live. Then after lunch, naps and snacks we all went to my parents house and went to their neighborhood festival that was at a local farm in their neighborhood...
So today, Travis got to feed and pet cows, horses, longhorns, goats and sheep... He loved it!
He also got head butted by a 6 month old cow, but turned right around and gave him a great big forehead kiss...
Trav and his cousins all had a blast climbing on pumpkins, tractors, and hay... plus going for a hay ride was a great time also! It was the LONNNNNGEST hay ride of my dang life. IKKY!
All the boys followed Gavin around the pumpkin patch on the look out for the best pumpkin ever...
I am unsure if they ever found it but at one point Gavin had a huge stack on multi-sized pumpkins all in his lap.Of course there was some special Gigi & Paps time! All the boys are in love with Gigi and Paps and since Grandparents know the most fun things to do, all the boys got to fish for rocks in the swimming pool! :)
Then baby Picasso painted his daddy a beautiful pumpkin! Look how serious he is about this project! He did a great job too! I was shocked!

The favorite part of my day was seeing Travis' eyes light up when he got to be face to face with these enormous animals! He adores his cousins and had the best time playing with them!
I never thought that it would be so fun to experience things like this when you had a child... the wonder and amazement in their eyes is wonderful!

If you want to check out the other pics from today please check out my drop shots:

They uploaded to Friday October 19th & Saturday October 20th...

yadda, yadda, blah, blah

This weekend the 3 of us went to Austin to visit Gavin's parents... Nana & Papa!
Papa got transfered to Austin earlier this year and they have both been down there since the end of last school year. At the end of July they bought a house... with an amazing yard in a wonderful area and neighborhood! It is kinda like the country, but not really... there are HUGE trees, deer that wander around, not to many stores or restaurants. It is quiet, simple and gorgeous!
Their house is perfect... but the best part is their land! The back yard has TONS and I am not kidding at all... TONS of trees! Papa already hung a swing for Travis and it racked up a few miles this weekend!
We had a fun and simple weekend! Travis, Nana and I got lost walking through the neighborhood... I would guess about 2 1/2-3 miles worth of lost! There is a small plane airport (for personal planes) in their neighborhood.. Travis was in HEAVEN looking at all the planes and he even got lucky and saw one take off from about 100 yards away! He was pointing and screaming airplane (sounds more like air-pane... no L) The houses near by were super cool.. they had hangars as garages... I have never seen this before...
of course I took a picture of one of the houses!
I couldnt get over how silly it looked with this extra large garage but the house looked perfectly normal.
Being outside was rough.. Austin has more things I am allergic to. Especially in their area.
I think I sneezed well over 1000 times this weekend.
Travis LOVED everything about this weekend! He got to play with some of his Dada's old toys, and cars.. and even hung out with a little superman figurine for a while.

He also found the alarm clock in Papa & Nana's room... clicked it on and decided to dance a jig with Papas watch on! What a character. If you look close in this picture you can see a weeding picture of Gavin and I on the bedside table. Travis picked it up said " Mommy, Daddy" and kissed it... I OF COURSE, did not get a picture of that :(
Saturday afternoon we all went to the Picture People and got some family pictures taken... I thought they were going to email the thumbnails to me, but I have not gotten them yet??? If I do I will share with you all! They were spur of the moment and we all were not to coordinated with outfits but we got some cute ones of Travis with Nana & Papa! Travis LOVES to walk around the house an point out people in pictures... he knows almost every person in all of our pictures and can say most of their names... of course he is obsessed with seeing his Dada in pictures... and when he sees himself he either calls himself Dada or baby. Too cute!
Travis also played the piano with Dada... and LOVES it! He would head bop along as he played.. like he understood he was making "pretty" music!
Gavin is a great piano player.. though he does not admit it or practice! I would love to have a piano so I could listen to him play all the time!
Travis really was an amazing child this weekend... he did scream "UH OH Mommy" during church service this morning when the music stopped so he and I went and joined the preschoolers for Sunday school class since the nursery was full... He was even perfect in the car.. he has an hour and half sleeping limit and always seems to wake up or fall asleep at the same place every time! He passed out holding onto a fish that goes in the swimming pool that Nana gave him to take to Paps & Gigi's house for their pool... Gavin and I were cracking up and had to get a picture of it for a good laugh! He was perfect even when we got stuck in traffic coming home.. FOR AN HOUR over nothing. When we got to the cause of the traffic it was 3 cop cars and a perfect random car that did not look like it was hurt and they were all standing there on the phone and not moving. FOR AN HOUR, sheesh! I have to say that I do hope that is all it was even though I was frustrated, I hope no one did get hurt! Thank God for DVD players! Elmo's World saved our lives or I should say EARS this afternoon!
Overall it was a great little trip... we had a blast with Nana & Papa and will be going back for Thanksgiving... that is sooner that I realized too!
WOW, this year is flying by!

I'm Home!!!

Vegas was fun... different but fun!
It seems to be all about BOOBS, MONEY, and FOOD!

We stayed at the Hilton Grand Vacation Suites on the end of the strip! BEAUTIFUL PLACE!
It was a good thing too because there is NOT a casino in that hotel so we did not loose as much money as we possibly could have...

It was only 115 degress of pure oven hotness!
The heat is so different there then it is in Texas, I am for sure that I am NOT a big fan of the dry heat at all... especially when it melts your flip flops!

Gavin and I won some and lost some playing Texas Hold'em, Black Jack and some video poker games. We saw some CRAZY people and I swear if you like people watching that is where you need to go! We went and looked around a few different hotels and casinos but not as many as I would have liked to see... but in 2 days we did a ton!

My favorite thing was going to the Cirque du Soleil show Love. It was set to Beatles music and let me tell you, it blew me away! I did not want to blink! I would recommend that show to anyone and see it a hundreds times over if I could!

We ate some awesome food, took MANY cab rides (it was toooo hot to walk!) and drank a ton of free drinks! The perks of gambling... you get free drinks! But I tell yah, loosing $20 sure makes that one expensive beer! HA! it is so fun to talk to the cab drivers... they all have their opinion on Lady Luck and when and where she will pick you up!

The flight coming home was a little scary at first! Flying out of the Valley, it was bumpy and shifty and I was about to grab the guys hand next to me... but he was a dud! He would not even talk to me... BLAH! I was in first class.... it ROCKED! I have never sat in first class before, I am a HUGE fan! But still, the turbulence leaving was a bit much for me! I thought I was going to be sick :(

Over all.... I LOVED hanging with my hubby but I could live the rest of my life HAPPILY if I never go back. The heat, the boobs and the drunk gamblers are all just a little too much for me.

It may have been a bit better if we could have actually been able to walk around outside without having a heat stroke... so maybe one day I will try and go back when it is cooler... but as of now. I got my fair taste of Vegas.

I did want to re-new our vows with Elvis, but you know I did not even see a wedding chapel or an Elvis. Crazy huh?

I am so glad to be home, I missed my baby! Travis did a GREAT job staying with his grandparents!
He was a busy little dude and enjoyed being with Paps and Gigi.
They spoiled him, but thats is what grandparents do, right?

He was so loving and huggy on me all day, he missed his momma!
I have LOVED all the LOVIN' I have gotten!
The second star is where our hotel was!

Just for a weekend!
Be back on Monday!

Home again...

The 3 of us just got back from a family reunion in St. Louis... It was Travis' first plane ride and first time to stay in a hotel... we did great overall! He had a runny nose the whole time, either a little cold or teeth ( I HATE TEETHING!) He slept the entire plane ride to St. L but fussed the whole way home (SHEESH!) He slept like a champ and really did great with all the attention (of course) and hugs from all these people he didn't know!
Friday Night we had dinner at this cool restaurant in down town St. L close to the arch. It was a cajun type place that had Irish decorations... whatever works right???
Travis was on a roll showing off for everyone!
Then Saturday the majority of the family went to the arch but T and I stayed back with Nana (G's mom) and Cousin Lonna since I had been once before when my dad lived there and T was not feeling 100% with his runy nose. But, hanging with the girls was great fun for T!
Then that afternoon G watched T and I went to old downtown St. Charles with some cousins and my MIL and shopped a little.. It was so beautiful! It had brick streets and old shops that probably use to be houses... besides the heat it was a blast!
That night we had the BIG party for Jill & Bill a combined 100th b-day!
Jill is 49 and Bill is 51
It was at Dacve & Busters in a special room (like a reception) and we had a blast! Travis had a love affair with a green balloon and we got to listen to family members Roast Jill & Bill... it was a riot!
Travis was in HOG heaven in the arcade area, the lights were amazing to him!
Then Sunday we ate breakfast with the entire family and hung out until we headed homeward!
Here are some pics...
This is T with his big boy cousin Tyler.... they were BEST friends!

Travis was drawing in his doodle thingy...
He LOVED it! He is gonna be an artist like his momma!

Trav getting kisses from Nana!
He LOVED her tons this weekend and can even say her name VERY well!

This is T with Cousin Lonna.... She was great entertainment!

I had to add this picture...
He was so pissed at me and didnt want his picture taken! HAHAHHAA

This is T's special balloon...
He played with it for HOURS!

I fell in LOVE with this cake!
It is a Mad Hatter cake for Jill & Bills 100th (combined) party!

Now, I am pooped out! Traveling has really thrown us for a loop!
Gavin leaves again tomorrow for a business trip and my niece and nephew will be here on Tuesday!
No time to rest here!

I'm back!

Wooo, what a trip we had!
(this may be a long post!)
after you read this post check out the pictures HERE
It was a blast and since it has been non-stop raining here in Texas I am so ready to go back to Cali!

Lets see where I should start telling y'all about my trip!
We left Thursday morning at about 715am from our house and stopped at my parents to drop Travis off. I was a nervous wreck leaving him, not because I didn't think my rents would do a good job but because I have only been away for like a day at a time and I was worried I would have separation anxiety... Our flight took off as planned and we were shocked since the rain here is just unbelievable.. we got to Cali (San Fransisco) at about noonish their time and we were starving. Gav had reserved a convertable mustang for use to drive up the coast in so we picked that up and headed to Market Street and got stuck in traffic. OMG, Traffic in San Fran is unlike anything I have ever seen in Dallas. Sheeesh! Driving up Market Street was a sight to see, the building were awesome the people were fun to look at ( I am a people watcher) but on top of it all the Bums... Ummm, wow! I have seen bums, I mean every city has homeless people, even when we went to Spain on out honeymoon we saw some crazy looking bums, but they didn't compare to San Fran bums. I got totally grossed out when I saw a young guy digging and eating out of a trash can. I just do not understand how people can get that low that they will not even try to get a job somewhere and make at least enough money to eat clean food. So anyways, we dropped our stuff off at the hotel and headed out to get lunch and walk around for a bit. We walked everywhere.... but ended up at Pier 39 and looked out at the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz, we got some yummy ice cream and stopped and listened to a Blues Band playing at some bar somewhere.... The base guitarist looked JUST LIKE Mikey Tuttle from American Choppers. I got to ride a trolley car and it was awesome, we waited in line for about 45 minutes listening to a hippy street performer playing some AWFUL 60's and 70's music with a banjo... EAR PLUGS PLEASE! The ride was too cool, Gavin stood on the outside of the cart and I sat in at the best seat! Right at the front window... It was too cool the hills we went on and the views to the Bay from on top of these hills... WOW! Later that night we went to a nice restaurant right on the water called Scoma's... We met tons of Texans there and had a fun dinner, food seemed good and it was over all a pleasant dinner. We got a Cab back to the hotel which was an experience that I just cna not write about since small eyes may read this... SHEESH and then all hell broke loose... I got food poisoning from the seafood. Lucky Me!We got up the next day and ate some breakfast and headed to highway 1 to drive up the coast. On our way we stopped and drove down Lombard Street the crookedest street in Cali! What a site to see! The fog was awesome... you could barely see the bridge as you were going under it (check out the pictures) It was cold and foggy and gross in San Fran but about 5 minutes after you passed under the bridge everything changed.. it was sunny and warm and beautiful! We headed up the coast to Bodega Bay It took us about 2 hours to get there since I wanted to stop every 2 seconds and take a picture. It was nutts how for about 10 minutes you would be warm, the sun would be glaring on you and it was beautiful, they you would hit a strange section of the coat that was cold, windy, foggy and the heater had to turn on. It literally went from swim suit to sweatshirt weather in 2.5 seconds... We got to Bodega Bay about 1ish, ate lunch and headed out to drive up the coast to a Redwood Forest. We got to Armstrong Redwood State Park and walked around for a little over an hour... It was beautiful! I have never in my life seen trees like those! WOW! Then we kept on up the coast just to see if we could find a beach to hang out on for a bit... Gavin started having some memories of the area and actually found te beach where he got scuba certified over 18 years ago... Good memory! Now why cant he remember a anniversary card but can remember this.. beats me!
We finaly headed back to out lodge and had dinner at a little restaurant on the water and headed to bed...The next morning (Saturday) we got up ate breakfast, packed the car and headed to Sonoma Valley. I was sooo excited and I guess Gavin was to since he was speeding a little too fast and we almost got pulled over by a pretty fiesty police officer! We really got pretty lucky, there was a van right behind us that was cruising the (over the speed limit speed) with us and when the cop flipped around and header after us the van thought we were getting pulled over so the dumby decided to pass us, over a double line, and the cop went right after him.... wooohooo we were for sure to get the ticket until the can driver made that bad move! We got to Somona Valley just in time for the wine tasting! We stopped at 3 main vineyards and really enjoyed ourselves ad then we went to Sonoma Square and tasted 9 different wines that they last place we went was offering (Castle Wine) Just to let yah know, I was a little tipsy by then! I loved the wine tasting.... next time I wasn't to take a class on wine before I go though, since the wine snobs get way more attention then n0rmal people do at at the vineyards! We then headed back to San Fransisco and met Gavin's brother and his finance for dinner and drinks! We went to this fun restaurant called TableSpoon, it was great and they actually serve gourmet Mac & Cheese YUM! We walked around and experience some more crazy people and then had a few drinks and headed back to the hotel! Sunday we got up and packed and walked around for a bit and headed to the airport....
What a journey! We signed up tp be on stand by for an earlier flight... but because the weather in TX is so bad the earlier flight left like 10 minutes before the flight we were originally on left (they were 2 hours delayed) We landed on time at 730pm BUT had to sit on the runway for over an hour waiting for a gate to open up... Sheesh! We got home at 10pm and were so glad to get home... sad thing is, Trav was already asleep at my moms house so I didn't get him until this morning.. I was so excited to see him that I didn't sleep a wink last night. He was so excited to see me but shortly afterwards got a little mad at me when he finally realized that I had been gone... all is great now! He is napping and I am dying to go in there and kiss his sweet little face!
