Ice Cream in the Car Wash...

Travis has been so sweet and concerned about my belly button where my incision is. He asks about Mommy's boo-boo all the time and always wants to make sure I am ok... "Mommy you ok? Boo-Boo ok?" What a sweet and caring boy! Today we were running an errand and he was being so sweet and loving I ask him if he could do anything for being a good boy what would it be?!! He thought for a second and asked me if we could eat ice cream in the car wash! I giggled and thought, well it is do-able so we headed for McDonald's and both got a vanilla cone and headed to the drive through car wash.

When we pulled up to the car wash the guy walked over to see what type of wash I wanted...
I told him the cheapest and handed him my card, he looked a little puzzled and asked why I didn't want my tires washed at least... I gave into the tires, but explained to him that I asked my son what he wanted to do for being a good boy and he came up with eating ice cream in the car wash and here we were!

He giggled and walked over to Travis side of the car and drew a little silly face for him!
Then he told the other guys waiting to write down orders and they all had to say Hi to Travis!
It was such an exciting experience for my little man!

He was THRILLED! It was like all his dreams came true!

I took these pictures with my phone so they are a little grainy, but pretty good!

The little TUDE!

I will have to say that Travis has ALWAYS been head strong. He has always know what and when he wants to do something and will not have it any other way without a fight. ( I think maybe he gets a little of that from me... maybe? )In some ways that is good, but in Momma's world that has its moments of being REALLY BAD! Lately he has really been attempting to voice (act) out his independence... and MAN, I have been tempted to go raid the Child Behavior sections at Barnes and Nobel for ANY books that can help with a head strong, too smart for his own good, LOUD, not embarrassed at anything, ornery, but EXTREMELY loving and adorable almost 2 1/2 year old... Recently his little "Terrible Two's" could really be defined at times as TERRIBLE! Yes, I know he is 2 and I know he is learning... blahblahblah! We have had bloody murder screaming happen in Target, almost an entire box of pancake mix poured on my BLACK rug, play-doh fed to the dog, handfuls of pudding painted on the kitchen table, a full water bottle dumped in the living room, the fridge open and milk, cheese, EVERYTHING put on the floor... and this is all just in the last 48 hours! NO kidding!
So, the reason for the post about the dude...
??Discipline??
I have tried Time-Outs, Options, Taking stuff away, Threatening, Spankings (don't judge me!)
and Nothing, NOTHING, N-O-T-H-I-N-G works!
Where is Super Nanny when you need her?
She needs to clone herself and have 1 of her in every city!
That would be WONDERFUL!
Advice Anyone?

First REAL sleepover!

Pretty Cute huh?
I babysat my girlfriends kiddos on Saturday night while her and her hubs went out for their anniversary! I had to post this picture because it is so rare to see two 2 year olds peacefully sleeping next to each other! I love it!
The boys CRASHED while watching the movie Cars, and slept that way all night long!

The Bro or Manssiere

Which ever you would prefer to call it!!!
You know when guy wears a bra...
***
This is what was waiting for me as I walked down the stairs from getting some shorts for him to wear!

He was VERY proud of himself too!
I guess when you are a little guy, you get excited to put one on... but the bigger you get the more FUN it is to take them off... HAHAHHAAAA!

To Cut or NOT to Cut...

Recently I have been referring to Travis' hair as "Hippy Hair" because it is getting so long and FINALLY thickening up! I really want him to have a HIP little guy hair cut, but I have become a little attached to the length! It has to stay a little longer in the front to cover his ears (they are a little advanced for his age) but what about the rest...

I really do not want to look back at his pictures when he gets older and think "OH, Why didn't I cut the kids hair?" but still... I want it to be the cutest it can be!

In a blink...

As a mom there are some moments that I look at my son and think, OH MY GOODNESS he is so BIG, where did the time go?!? Today, like all those other times in the midst of a conversation with my son, I started feeling a little sad... He was telling me how he needed a band-aid on the blister he got on his heel from his shoes. Mommy, Travie needs a band-aid on my foot, I have a boo-boo. This floored me, he can tell me exactly what he needs now, there is no more guessing. Of course communication is a good thing, but this is also a sign that my baby is NOT a baby anymore.
I am not ready for him to be so big!

Look at my little baby then and my big boy now,
its still a little unreal to me!

ohhhhh BOYS!

Today was a super special day for Travis... his buddy Jackson got to come home with him from school! They were both so excited to be together it was GREAT! Of course Mommy loved it too because they entertained each other!
We went outside and braved the heat for just about 30 minutes...
I melted, but the boys had a blast!
They went swinging together! That lasted about 30 seconds!
They played with the water hose...
and had a blast squirting the tree!
Our sauna experience ended with some rosy cheeks and a YUMMY popsicle!

...and some wonderfully goofy faces!

After a day at summer camp and an afternoon with a buddy, my son is SURE to sleep well tonight!
YAY!

He wants to be in it and have her in there also...
She is SO VERY tolerant of the kiddo!
We got a damn good dog!

HOLY HEART ATTACK BATMAN!

Before I tell you what happened.... PUT THE POISON CONTROL NUMBER in your cell phone and on your fridge or by your house phone, NOW! I will wait for you... hahahaha!
1800-222-1222
I can laugh now because thankfully everything will be fine!
I just have to let you know HOW fast a 2 year old moves and can get himself into trouble, maybe our situation will help you!

This morning I was getting Travis some Tylenol. He is getting his 2 year molars and has been in pain for about a month with these things! He was warm when he woke up and wouldn't chew so mommy instinct told me teeth and Tylenol!
We buy Travis the Childrens Tylenol Meltaways... they look like sweet tarts, smell and taste great also. Yes, I tasted one!
Anyways, I keep all of Travis medicine in a bread box on the counter... I always have and he can not reach it so it has never been an issue.
This morning I sat him on the counter and pulled out the bottle of tylenol and handed him his 2 that he gets, put the lid back on and put Travis on the floor. I re-opened the bread box to get the thermometer to take his temp just to make sure he was not REALLY running a temperature. I grabbed the thermometer, made sure the batteries were still good and turned to catch Travis.
He was GONE!
Not far though, just in the living room about 10-15 steps away with the TYLENOL BOTTLE.
When I put him on the floor and put the lid on the bottle I put it on the counter. Since Travis is ultra-tall he reched the bottle and took off.
The thing about those bottle is that if you put the lid on without turning it away from the open mark they are NOT babyproof... You have to line up the arrows to open the bottle RIGHT? Well the lid can be popped back on, but MAKE SURE you are not lining the arrows back up.
I am guessing I popped the lid back on and it was still lined up because the kid had the bottle opened and was looking in to get more out.
He could have eaten 6 or more... pretty fast but he is 2, or he could have just put his 2 back in there, I have no clue?!?
I flipped and called Poison Control
1800-222-1222
( this is the number for EVERY state! PUT IT IN YOUR PHONE)

The lady I talked to was wonderfully nice. Very concerned and did NOT make me feel like a stupid bad parent. Even though I felt that way already.
She had me list the MG's and all info on the bottle and I could hear her typing...
I counted the pills left and got the number of what was missing, 18.
Now, I know in less then a minute he could NOT have eaten 18, and I knew I had the bottle for over a month and had given him atleast 4 doses previously.
I was so nervous at this point, thinking I would have to take my son to the ER and get his itty bitty tummy pumped with charcoal. I can not imagine!
She paused for a second and was getting some info and came back on the line to tell me NOT to worry! THANK THE LORD!
That Travis could have eaten the entire bottle and still been under the toxic limit.
So, becasue there were 18 missing we calculated the toxic amount for the 18 missing from the bottle and he could have had all of those and maybe not show one symptom.
I was so releaved!
She told me to get him to drink and eat as much as I could to help with a potential tummy ache, and to not give him anymore tylenol for 24 hours.
(NOT that I would, I am scared of it now!)

Thank the LORD that this was just a wake up call and not a serious issue.
I ended up putting the remainder of the pills and bottle in a perscription bottle that I had for some sort of horse pills cause the bottle is huge. So, now the tylenol is on double lock down.

What did I learn?
** that in a second your child could get himself in a perdiciment that you may need help getting him out of, and though a mother can not moniter every second... they can be extra careful about things (like tylenol) that can potentially harm their babies**
I WILL NEVER TURN MY BACK AFTER MEDS AGAIN!

I have squeezed my baby 100 times since this and it was only about an hour ago.

Home Again... Giggity Gig!

We are back from an awesome weekend for all 3 of us!
We left at about noon on Friday and headed to Austin to drop Travis off with my in-laws!
We stayed for a bit and played until Travis got all involved with Nana and then we left!
While we were there we all made chalk outlines of each other....
Here is Daddy!
Here is Mommy!
Here is Travie!

Then Gavin and I left without one tear (THANKS GOODNESS) from Travis and headed to San Antonio. About an hour and a half drive from Gavin's parents house.

When we got to the hotel we were surprised to see a yummy plate of chocolate covered strawberries and a bottole of wine waiting for us with a note from the lady Gavin had spoken too about our trip.
How wonderfully nice!

The night we arrived we went to dinner at the restaurant in the hotel we were staying at. It was called Citrus and was UPPER FANCY!
It was a 3 or 4 course meal with items on the menu I could not even pronounce!
HAHAHAHA!

This is us at the restaurant... I look like a deer in headlights!

Saturday we got up, had an awesome breakfast and headed to Sea World!
BEST PANCAKES I HAVE EVER HAD!
We waited in line to get in for what seemed like an entire day. It was 100 degrees outside and super sunny... but we managed to survive and still have a wonderful time!
This was the water skiing and boat show...
They did so amazing stuff on that water!
Then we headed over to see Shamu!
I was in AHHHH of these whales. I can not believe you can train and animal that large! I was floored at the entire show, I do not think I blinked once!
I want to be a whale trainer now... LOL!
Then we headed over to the Beluga Whale show. It was super cool because the trainers and other performers did some amazing stunts with and without the animals!
After we sweat about 10 lbs off at that show we walked around got some yummy iced drinks and headed to the Seal and Sea lion area!
Their show was super cool, it was a story about fish getting stolen and trying to find who did it...
The seals are pretty awesome at performing! I was so impressed! And look at the big guy in the middle, doesnt he look like a sweet potato? LOL!

About the time that show was over a nasty storm had started blowing in... It was nice cause the weather dropped about 10-15 degrees! We headed over to the Shark Tank area and watched the diver feed the tropical fish and listened to a few minutes of info about the fishies... it was not as cool as Shamu for sure!

We headed back to our hotel trying to beat the storm and got showered and ready for the evening! We then headed out to the river walk and fought the heard of cattle (IT WAS PACKED) to get to the resturant we were eating at. Rio Rio it was called and it was huge. There were patios and rooms everywhere connected to this place. We wanted to eat outside becasue we were told there would be nice music... HA, all the heard was the booty shaking stuff from the club next door. Not to back, but singing "baby Got Back" when we were suppose to be toasting our ritas to a mariachi band was a little abnormal! Oh, well it was a great rita and good food!

We headed back to the hotel (the street route) and decided to take the night and vege out since we were going to have a long Sunday.
We sat and talked on our super cool patio and watched tv and crashed.

Over all it was a WONDERFUL trip!
Gavin and I had a great time even though we didnt stay out to all hours of the night parting, we did just what we wanted and that was to relax together!
Travis was spoiled rotten at Nana and Papas house.. pictures will come soon!

I can not wait to take Travis back to Sea World when he gets a bit older....
Hope you all had a great weekend!

T's First Day of Summer Camp

The night before th big Day we had Alana and Jackson (my niece and nephew) spend the night with us!
Travis was in heaven with the kiddos here! It made the night better for me since I had stuff to do and not worry about my kiddo going to MDO the next day!
We got up in the morning and all got ready. Travis headed outside with Jackson and saw a rabbit running across the street and up on the sidewalk we were on...
There goes the Rabbit...
There goes the kid after the rabbit!

The day went well... of course I teared up when I dropped him off and he cried and grabbed my leg. AHHH I got sweaty and sick and felt like I was going to throw up!
Thankfully I had some experienced moms comforting me! I headed out and had a busy day so I didn't have to sit and worry about him all day!
When I picked him up at 230, his teacher said he did really well after he stopped crying!
That he tried to steal his friends food at lunch and also didn't want to nap (So he is a grump-a-lump tonight!!! That did not surprise me at all, napping away from your norm is hard for most people! !
But he was great and she said he was able to communicate what he needed all day!
Good News!
We headed to Gigis after school to say good bye to my brother who headed back to Florida this evening and the kiddos headed back home with us!
Travis was so excited that the kids were spending the night again!

He was all smiles!
HAHAHA

In fact all the kids were HAPPY!

We ended the day with a extremely exhausted kid who has not slept all day and a little BLING!

YAY, its over! I am praying that Thursday will be a bit easier for us both!

Missing Sasha

Travis woke up this morning asking for Sasha. I never really thought he would forget her, but I never knew what a 2 year olds memory span was like. I guess like ours? But then again... not many people can remember things from under 4 right? Is that the age? I have no idea!
Every morning when he wakes up he just talks and talks... then he will start asking for you to come get him " Mommy, open door!" But this morning he was talking about Sasha, he was telling some sort of story about her. Gavin and I both went in his room to get him and Gavin asked him why he was talking about Sasha... and he said " I miss her"
OUCH!
Do 2 year olds know what the feeling of missing something? That hurt that you feel when you really miss someone or something. That ache in your heart... I really hope he does not feel that!

I do love that he remembers her... She adored him!

Fishing in the Toilet...

My mom got Travis a fishing pole for Christmas (I think it was...) It is one of the mini ones that looks and works like a big pole, just has Super Man on there and is bright red, So Fun!It has always stayed at my moms house so he could fish in the pool and the other day Travis asked for one for our house... I told him I would get him one IF he was a good boy when we went grocery shopping. He was a PERFECT Angel ( of course) so I stuck to my word and bought him the little fishing pole... (the same exact one, even though he had tons of options) for our house. He has loved it, casting it out and reeling it in like a big boy... Until today!
I was going to the bathroom and could hear him making his way to the hallway reeling in his pole and I just had a feeling he was coming into the restroom to fish... OH NO! I tried to hurry and finish and flush so I could shut the door and keep him from fishing in the potty, but his little body just moved way to fast into the bathroom and as I was flushing he cast his little rubber fish in the toilet and down it went. We still had the line in our hands, he was reeling it in and I was pulling with all my might and the fish just kept going... The line kept on too... Finally I was able to pull it enough that it popped and the line flung over to us.
He was devastated.... Now we have a little orange frog tied to the end of his pole, but I don't think it is living up to the red fishes standards :( Poor little red rubber fish... he is having to hang with all the real DEAD fish that get flushed daily.
