Thursday 13: Silly Comparisons!

13 Ways Tessa Reminds me of Sasha!
A couple of our friends have mentioned how much Tessa reminds them of Sasha....
So, I decided to do a comparison, 13 of them to be exact!!

Sasha
Tessa
1. coloring... you cant see it here but they are both cream with black on their faces and white feet.
2. ear... of course Tessa wins size wise, but they are both sticking up!
3. lazy... I always knew Sasha was a couch potato, but Tessa even though she is a puppy, is the same way!
4. noises... they both sigh, Sasha use to sign like she was annoyed with everything (prob. was) Tessa does the same thing! HA!
5. boots... they both have nice white boots on, that way you can really tell if they have dug in the backyard!
6. sleeping... they both sleep in funny positions. Sasha was like a contortionist and Tessa is the same way.
7. treats... Oh that is a topic all dogs love!
8. stuffed toys... both LOVE them!
9. outside... only when you are!
10. Daddy's girl... they both LOVE their daddy!
11. kitty toys... whats the deal with dogs loving the little mice toys?
12. noses... both have really kissable wet noses.
13. loving... they both LOVE to cuddle and be loved on.

** Yes, I still talk about Sasha like she is still around, in heart of course... and she will always be!
Tessa has some HUGE shoes to fill and so far she is doing a GREAT job, she has fit right into this family and we love it! Maybe Sasha has a little to do with it??? We will never know! :)

A personal call....

... FROM THE DOCTOR HIMSELF!
He said it is my gallbladder so we are moving forward to either removing it or fixing the problem!
Tomorrow in the morning I have an appointment/consultation with the specialist and then we will see what the next step is!

Thanks for all your sweet words and support!

FRUSTRATED BEYOND WORDS!

I have just found out what to most frustrating thing in the world is....

My doctor was suppose to call me with results yesterday, at 430 pm I called the office and they had gotten my sono stuff back from radiology. The nurse said she would call as soon as she knew something. I gave up hope about 63o last night since the office closes at 5 and then just called this morning. He still has not looked at them. Yes, he is a busy guy... Yes, he does have 2 kids and a wife and his own practice... YES, I get this!
BUT HE IS THE ONE THAT WANTED A RUSH ON MY TESTS!!!!!!!!!!!!
I AM SO SICK OF BEING SICK! I WANT AN ANSWER!

ok, gotta go breath in a bag now before I really lose it!

Wordless Wednesday: cute close ups!

A Little info...

I have gotten a few emails from my bloggin' buds asking where I have been lately... So, I am guessing it is my time to share my news with you guys.
For the past 4 weeks I have been really sick with digestive issues. This same thing happened almost a year ago when the doctors thought they were going to have to remove my gallbladder... Last week I went to see a specialist who did some tests with biopsies on my intestines and then today I had a sonogram on my gallbladder and abdomen. I am waiting for results of all the tests which I have been told are being rushed ordered and I should know something by this afternoon. I have always had some sort of digestive issue really my entire life, starting as a child I supposidly was a little lactose intolerent and then when I was 20 I got diagnosed with Celiac Disease. After I had Travis I got re-tested for Celiac because I was having other issues and the test came back negative. Either I was mis-diagnosed before or by some miracle my pregnancay cleared it up... who knows??? Then in the last 2 1/2 years since I have had Travis about every 3-4 months I would get sick. I would blame food poisoning or the stomach flu or that I had just over eaten or something... really anything to give myself a reason for feeling awful. The more it would happen the longer it would last. This time it got so bad at one point that my doctor was telling me to go to the ER. Normally I would hop on the banwagon and head right there, but this time I knew I would not like the results I would recieve so I just sat at home and tried to let it pass. Now I am 2 weeks passed the worst point and am still sick and still begging the doctors for results. I would say yesterday I hit rock bottom when I cried to my Doctor to help me find something because I can not live my life like this any longer, it is not fair to me, my son , hubby, friends or my parents. My dear mom takes every boo-boo to heart and I cant imagine the stress my sickness has caused on her with her quickness to worry! (I guess that runs in the family!) I have had a wonderful support system which is what is really needed when you are hanging in limbo waiting for answers... One of my best girlfriends is currently going through a similar issue and she has been so wonderful calling and checking on me even though she is not 100% right now either... ( LOVE YOU "L") Anyways, that is the news... I wish it was something wonderful but unfortunetly it isnt. My biggest fear is that they will find nothing and I will have to live like this until another symptoms shows itself and another doctor decides to take action. All I really want is an answer, something to make these last 2 + years of living with this nasty problem make a little bit more sense!

hOly HOtNeSs.......

I just got a heat advisory warning on my computer.... HEAT ADVISORY 100-105 degress today.
WHAT...
that is H-O-T!

I am so sick of the hot weather! It is like when you walk outside you are immediately covered in a damp wool coat, can you imagine how nasty that would feel? That is a North Texas summer for ya... and I am so over it!

I feel awful because Travis LOVES to be outside but I cant stand it... so I give him like 15 minutes here and there all day.
Even though it is a few fights to get him back inside... I just can not brave the heat that long!

Anyone want to go to Alaska with me? I could totally use some snow right now!!!!

In a blink...

As a mom there are some moments that I look at my son and think, OH MY GOODNESS he is so BIG, where did the time go?!? Today, like all those other times in the midst of a conversation with my son, I started feeling a little sad... He was telling me how he needed a band-aid on the blister he got on his heel from his shoes. Mommy, Travie needs a band-aid on my foot, I have a boo-boo. This floored me, he can tell me exactly what he needs now, there is no more guessing. Of course communication is a good thing, but this is also a sign that my baby is NOT a baby anymore.
I am not ready for him to be so big!

Look at my little baby then and my big boy now,
its still a little unreal to me!

Look-alike Meter

I have only heard 1 time that Travis looks like me from someone that is a family member and knows Gavin and I both... Of course when you do not know both parents you see similarities in the one parent you do know, but it is so obvious that my child is an exact mini-me of my hubby. Well, minus the facial hair!
I saw this on a friends blog, and HAD to try it out!
You should too, its pretty amusing!

MyHeritage: Look-alike Meter - Geneology - Roots

I did it 2 times with different picture and it came out 6% each time...
I think he looks way more like his Daddy then 6%, but that's just me!!!!

ohhhhh BOYS!

Today was a super special day for Travis... his buddy Jackson got to come home with him from school! They were both so excited to be together it was GREAT! Of course Mommy loved it too because they entertained each other!
We went outside and braved the heat for just about 30 minutes...
I melted, but the boys had a blast!
They went swinging together! That lasted about 30 seconds!
They played with the water hose...
and had a blast squirting the tree!
Our sauna experience ended with some rosy cheeks and a YUMMY popsicle!

...and some wonderfully goofy faces!

After a day at summer camp and an afternoon with a buddy, my son is SURE to sleep well tonight!
YAY!

A Fathers Love....

I have to admit I am a sucker for inspirational stories... I will get great joy out of watching them and of course shed a few tears! This one was sent to me by a very special friend and I have watched it twice in the last 10 minutes. Once alone and once with Gavin. I have to tell you how amazed I am by this fathers strength! You must watch this... it is a little over 4 minutes but will be the best 4 minutes of your day today!

Miss Tessa

WELCOME TO THE FAMILY!
What type of dogs does she look like to you?
She is a pure mix...
I see German Shepard in her ears and tail, maybe boxer with the black face and white paws...of course in every non-pure bred dog is a little lab! The vet that first saw her thought maybe a little border collie, I don't see it but who knows!
Any Ideas?
I AM SO EXCITED!

The Baby Sister....

Recently we have been looking for a dog that fits in our family. We have looked at all the close shelters and adoption clinics and actually had found a dog that we loved. She was almost 2 and loved the water... unfortunately it is not first come first serve and she was adopted to a family that lives in a lake house. Good for her! The foster mom that had the first dog (Cissy) called to tell me she had been given to the other family and told me about this other puppy.. she was 4 months old, a mix, potty & crate trained and needed a home. She said that the pup immediately came to mind after she met us, because we told her about Sasha and how calm and loving she was and also voiced our concern about an older pup and not knowing the issues of theit past... Of course I was interested since she was a baby and I wouldn't have to worry about past experiences causing the dog to lash out at any of use... that was a HUGE concern for Gavin and I since we have Travis the tornado kid! Tessa is the pups name and she is a doll! She is spending the day with us today to see if we all mesh! So far so good! She had napped, sniffed the cats (they don't like her at all!) chewed on one of Sasha's old bones I found behind the couch, let Travis lay all over her and all of this with the sweetest, calmest personality! I am in love, Travis is too! Just gotta convince the hubs and she is our! YAY!

** as I was writing this post I ended up taking Tessa outside, she did so good! Of course she is a little nervous because everything is new, but I am just so thrilled I do not have to potty train a pup and a kid all in the same year!!! hahahahahaha!

Tuesday-Toddler Tales

When Travis was a little guy, my mom dug through my old baby dolls and found a little cabbage patch kid that look JUS LIKE TRAVIS! A little bald baby with big brown eyes. Trav has never thought twice about the cabbage patch baby and honeslty has just though of it an an obsticle to get to his other toys... Last night Gavin and Travis were playing last night and Trav picked up the baby and wanted it to be dressed... poor thing was naked!
So, we laid her on Trav's bed and put a diaper and pj's on her... he LOVED IT!
Then she had to pee pee so her diaper had to come off and she sat on the potty! (Potty Training advantage??? maybe) Then she had to get dressed again and get ready for bed. Then he wanted her to jump on he bed with him and he said "Mommy, help baby sister jump"... WHAT?
BABY SISTER? WHAT? I looked at Gavin and flipped.... "did you put him up to that?"
He said NO and we were both floored. He was jumping and being so sweet and loving to his new "Baby Sister" the cabbage patch!
What a dude!

2. That you can have a semi-conversation with him and understand his side.
3. That kisses are still fun and silly!
4. That my arms and legs are race tracks.
5. He makes sound effects for everything.

8. He adores his daddy's every move.
9. He LOVES tools and helping with any project.
10. He thinks watching videos of himself on the computer is the coolest thing in the world.
11. He calls me Ma when he is hurrying through a sentence... "Ma, apple juice, please"
12. He always helps me get out of bed in the morning by putting my glasses on my face.
13. The wide excited look he gives me when I pick him up from summer camp.

** I could go on and on and on for hours**

Petting Quota for Miss Stella Bella!

My sweet little girl kitty, Stella has really become my little lover since Sasha passed. It was like she knew I needed a little more pet lovin' and she was UP for the challenge. Recently I have really noticed her schedule and it is pretty amusing if you think about it... like a quota we have to meet every day! When I wake up in the morning she meows at me until I pick her up and love on her. Then when I put my contacts in, she is right there helping me... well she loves to drink the saline solution (GROSS). Then Travis and I usually leave for summer camp or strollerfit and the second we get back she is on my heels meowing for more lovin'. Usually Travis and I play or its time for a nap or if he is at camp I head right up to work on websites... she follows me anywhere I am and waits patiently for a little more petting. Then as soon as I sit at my desk she is right here next to me ON TOP of my paperwork waiting for loves. She purrs and it will get louder and louder until I put my hand on her. Even if I just lay my hand on her she is happy. Then there are times when I can just put my hand out and she will walk under and around my hand like she is petting herself.
I love this! I love that she wants to have a lovin' quota! She is my little bitty bitty...
I think my most favorite thing about her is that in the evenings, the second I lay in bed she is right up on my chest and will stay there until I roll over. For an hour or just a few minutes. She lays her little head dow, closes her eyes and purrs.
I have to say, that this little girl knows just what and when her momma needs some kitty lovin' and I eat it up!
Check out this picture... this is the reason for the post I just wrote! My little Stella Bella and her quest to get lovin' before Momma gets to work!
