Tuesday-Toddler Tales!

Its been a while since I did a TTT, I would get to Tuesday night and go... OH DARN, I forgot!

Travis' vocabulary is unbelievable these days, I feel like I am talking to a 5 year old sometimes, but along with all the words comes all the attempts to manipulate.

I have some super fun sayings from Travis and they all revolve around the word "REMEMBER"
This is where he thinks he is fooling me to believe we already decided or had this conversation...

" Mommy, Travie eat candy now... remember?"

" Mommy, Travie no take nap today... remember?"

"Mommy, Travie eat 2 pop tarts... remember?"

He will try anything to get sweets, candy and not to nap!
My favorite thing is that he calls himself "Travie" when he talks about himself!

I love this age, 2 years and 4 months July 1st!

Leave a comment and let us know if you do a TTT also!

And last but not least... his THUG look!
Gangsta'-Boy!

HOLY HEART ATTACK BATMAN!

Before I tell you what happened.... PUT THE POISON CONTROL NUMBER in your cell phone and on your fridge or by your house phone, NOW! I will wait for you... hahahaha!
1800-222-1222
I can laugh now because thankfully everything will be fine!
I just have to let you know HOW fast a 2 year old moves and can get himself into trouble, maybe our situation will help you!

This morning I was getting Travis some Tylenol. He is getting his 2 year molars and has been in pain for about a month with these things! He was warm when he woke up and wouldn't chew so mommy instinct told me teeth and Tylenol!
We buy Travis the Childrens Tylenol Meltaways... they look like sweet tarts, smell and taste great also. Yes, I tasted one!
Anyways, I keep all of Travis medicine in a bread box on the counter... I always have and he can not reach it so it has never been an issue.
This morning I sat him on the counter and pulled out the bottle of tylenol and handed him his 2 that he gets, put the lid back on and put Travis on the floor. I re-opened the bread box to get the thermometer to take his temp just to make sure he was not REALLY running a temperature. I grabbed the thermometer, made sure the batteries were still good and turned to catch Travis.
He was GONE!
Not far though, just in the living room about 10-15 steps away with the TYLENOL BOTTLE.
When I put him on the floor and put the lid on the bottle I put it on the counter. Since Travis is ultra-tall he reched the bottle and took off.
The thing about those bottle is that if you put the lid on without turning it away from the open mark they are NOT babyproof... You have to line up the arrows to open the bottle RIGHT? Well the lid can be popped back on, but MAKE SURE you are not lining the arrows back up.
I am guessing I popped the lid back on and it was still lined up because the kid had the bottle opened and was looking in to get more out.
He could have eaten 6 or more... pretty fast but he is 2, or he could have just put his 2 back in there, I have no clue?!?
I flipped and called Poison Control
1800-222-1222
( this is the number for EVERY state! PUT IT IN YOUR PHONE)

The lady I talked to was wonderfully nice. Very concerned and did NOT make me feel like a stupid bad parent. Even though I felt that way already.
She had me list the MG's and all info on the bottle and I could hear her typing...
I counted the pills left and got the number of what was missing, 18.
Now, I know in less then a minute he could NOT have eaten 18, and I knew I had the bottle for over a month and had given him atleast 4 doses previously.
I was so nervous at this point, thinking I would have to take my son to the ER and get his itty bitty tummy pumped with charcoal. I can not imagine!
She paused for a second and was getting some info and came back on the line to tell me NOT to worry! THANK THE LORD!
That Travis could have eaten the entire bottle and still been under the toxic limit.
So, becasue there were 18 missing we calculated the toxic amount for the 18 missing from the bottle and he could have had all of those and maybe not show one symptom.
I was so releaved!
She told me to get him to drink and eat as much as I could to help with a potential tummy ache, and to not give him anymore tylenol for 24 hours.
(NOT that I would, I am scared of it now!)

Thank the LORD that this was just a wake up call and not a serious issue.
I ended up putting the remainder of the pills and bottle in a perscription bottle that I had for some sort of horse pills cause the bottle is huge. So, now the tylenol is on double lock down.

What did I learn?
** that in a second your child could get himself in a perdiciment that you may need help getting him out of, and though a mother can not moniter every second... they can be extra careful about things (like tylenol) that can potentially harm their babies**
I WILL NEVER TURN MY BACK AFTER MEDS AGAIN!

I have squeezed my baby 100 times since this and it was only about an hour ago.

To My Love...

Gavin,
I'm so glad our life isn't about perfection. Instead, we find happiness in everyday moments and real satisfaction in our home, our love and our family. Sometimes life can get a little messy and a little crazy around the edges. But that's okay. It's still wonderful... and there no one I would rather be sharing it with than you... AMAZING YOU!
I love you more the words!

Happy Anniversary Honey!

***
I know of 2 other anniversary's and a few birthdays that are today!
What a great day!

And to stick to the day...
here are 13 reasons why I love this man:
1. his smile- not the one he fakes in pictures, but the one that is natural and happens daily when he looks at his life and likes what he sees!
2. his laugh... it is contagious, silly, sometimes sounds like a hyena (hahaha) but over all so great to hear!
3. his knowledge- talk about a jack of all trades! He can fix anything, grill like a master, plant anything and at least keep it a live for a few weeks (heehee)
4. he cooks.... No joke. The man is an amazing cook. He loves to look in recipe books and tweak them into his own masterpiece... good thing because I suck at cooking!
5. he plays- he can build the best lego towers, sculpt amazing play-doh art, make the best car, truck and airplane sounds and cracks Travis up with his ability to do anything with a bouncy ball!
6. he sings... not very well i might add, but he will belt it out anytime he knows the song playing. I love it! (Except Primus!!!!)
7. he watches tv- funny topic, but I have to add it becasue he will sit and watch all my silly girly reality shows and complain a little (and yes I get worn out with the complaining) but he will still suffer through the entire program with me!
8. he helps... I can tell you all that I just started asking for help and not expecting it to come naturally. He does a great job helping with whatever is next on my list and that is a wonderful trait!
9. he accepts- he has accepted all my crazy quirks and though they all probably drive him batty, he still loves me for me!
10. he is a dad... and an amazing one at that! Travis gets so excited when Daddy gets home! Gavin knows all the fun things to do and toys to play with, he also knows just how to distract him from a boo-boo and to calm him down when he doesnt want to put his clothes on. He is the best bed jumper referee and gets Trav just enough freedom with a wonderful watchful eye!
11. he smells- not bad HAHAHA, he has a certain smell. It is wonderful!
12. he sleeps... like a log, not even the house alarm will wake him up. But wathing him sleep is wonderful and so peaceful, it is like you see the inoccence of him when he was a child himself.
13. he lives- daily for this family! Without a complaint he works hard to provide for his family and allows Travis and I to live a wonderful life.

Love You Gavie!

Home Again... Giggity Gig!

We are back from an awesome weekend for all 3 of us!
We left at about noon on Friday and headed to Austin to drop Travis off with my in-laws!
We stayed for a bit and played until Travis got all involved with Nana and then we left!
While we were there we all made chalk outlines of each other....
Here is Daddy!
Here is Mommy!
Here is Travie!

Then Gavin and I left without one tear (THANKS GOODNESS) from Travis and headed to San Antonio. About an hour and a half drive from Gavin's parents house.

When we got to the hotel we were surprised to see a yummy plate of chocolate covered strawberries and a bottole of wine waiting for us with a note from the lady Gavin had spoken too about our trip.
How wonderfully nice!

The night we arrived we went to dinner at the restaurant in the hotel we were staying at. It was called Citrus and was UPPER FANCY!
It was a 3 or 4 course meal with items on the menu I could not even pronounce!
HAHAHAHA!

This is us at the restaurant... I look like a deer in headlights!

Saturday we got up, had an awesome breakfast and headed to Sea World!
BEST PANCAKES I HAVE EVER HAD!
We waited in line to get in for what seemed like an entire day. It was 100 degrees outside and super sunny... but we managed to survive and still have a wonderful time!
This was the water skiing and boat show...
They did so amazing stuff on that water!
Then we headed over to see Shamu!
I was in AHHHH of these whales. I can not believe you can train and animal that large! I was floored at the entire show, I do not think I blinked once!
I want to be a whale trainer now... LOL!
Then we headed over to the Beluga Whale show. It was super cool because the trainers and other performers did some amazing stunts with and without the animals!
After we sweat about 10 lbs off at that show we walked around got some yummy iced drinks and headed to the Seal and Sea lion area!
Their show was super cool, it was a story about fish getting stolen and trying to find who did it...
The seals are pretty awesome at performing! I was so impressed! And look at the big guy in the middle, doesnt he look like a sweet potato? LOL!

About the time that show was over a nasty storm had started blowing in... It was nice cause the weather dropped about 10-15 degrees! We headed over to the Shark Tank area and watched the diver feed the tropical fish and listened to a few minutes of info about the fishies... it was not as cool as Shamu for sure!

We headed back to our hotel trying to beat the storm and got showered and ready for the evening! We then headed out to the river walk and fought the heard of cattle (IT WAS PACKED) to get to the resturant we were eating at. Rio Rio it was called and it was huge. There were patios and rooms everywhere connected to this place. We wanted to eat outside becasue we were told there would be nice music... HA, all the heard was the booty shaking stuff from the club next door. Not to back, but singing "baby Got Back" when we were suppose to be toasting our ritas to a mariachi band was a little abnormal! Oh, well it was a great rita and good food!

We headed back to the hotel (the street route) and decided to take the night and vege out since we were going to have a long Sunday.
We sat and talked on our super cool patio and watched tv and crashed.

Over all it was a WONDERFUL trip!
Gavin and I had a great time even though we didnt stay out to all hours of the night parting, we did just what we wanted and that was to relax together!
Travis was spoiled rotten at Nana and Papas house.. pictures will come soon!

I can not wait to take Travis back to Sea World when he gets a bit older....
Hope you all had a great weekend!

Toddler Tales
When my nice and nephew were still here, my Mom, niece and I went to the mall to this really fun store and got some silly books and things for everyone!
We got my nephew these "bubba" bling bling teeth. They look like golden, studded crowns and have a sucker on the back. So, when you suck the sucker it looks like you have these silly teeth.
Travis LOVED them!
Or Maybe he just loved the sucker...
But, I could not stop laughing when I saw him walking around with the bling bling teeth hanging out of his mouth!
Too Funny!
Gotta LOVE 2 year olds!

Fathers Day Weekend!

What a GREAT weekend we had! Friday we hung out with neighbors, Saturday morning we threw some things in our neighbors garage sale and made almost $100! Saturday night we had a great dinner with friends and hung out all night chatting and laughing most of the time!
Then it was Sunday, Fathers day... wow it sure came fast!

I had this wonderful Fathers day post ready to upload yesterday... but for some reason blogger was not saving anything so it all got lost. I was bummed out.. So, instead of fighting it and re-writing it we went and spent some wonderful family time together!

Travis is really starting to admire everything is Daddy does... and to make it better Gav LOVES to teach Travis how to do anything!
Hold a baseball glove and catch the ball!
Hit a golf ball!

Answers!!!!

What does your favorite date night entail?
date night??? Whats that? HAHAHAHA!!!
I am pretty simple, I love just going to dinner and maybe a movie or to hear a band play. Nothing that is to exhausting!

How many kids do you want to have?
I would love to have a boy and girl... I have my boy and since I have had him and realized how busy boys are I am kinda scared to have another boy. So, I have no idea whats going to happen next!

What is your favorite blog design?
This is a HARD answer... Its like trying to say which child is your favorite.

If you had three wishes, what would they be?
1. To make sure ALL my loved ones are all taken care of for their lifetime.
2. That there is a simple cure for cancer
3. and of course.. world peace!

What is your biggest fear?
That Travis will not out live me. I think the worst pain in life would be to loose a child. I would not be able to live through it.

How'd ya meet Lover Boy and how did he propose?
Gavin and I met YEARS ago.. in 1995. He was my trainer at Boston Market (my first job) We did not really have a friendship or anything. He tells me now that he had a crush on me... HA, who knows! We did go to high school together and he was a year older then me, so we never really saw each others. He graduated and went to KU for college. In his first semester his lungs collapsed so he had to move home where he got a job at a local hotel as a bartender. When I graduated from high school my dad flew down and stayed at that hotel. He called me to say he had made it and that I needed to stop by the front desk because there was a guy there that knew my last name. It was Gavin. We chatted for a little bit and after his shift he came to my dads room to hang out. We were both dating other people so nothing happened then. My first year of college I went to community college to take some classes and ended up needing a tutor for math... and guess who was my tutor?? Gavin! We started hanging out all the time and still dating other people, because great friends. A few days before Valentines day 1999 we were all sitting in his apartment with friends and his current girlfriend. He got really brave and reached behind her, tapped my shoulder and asked me if I wanted to be his date for Valentines. I was floored... so was his girlfriend OF COURSE. I left his apartment in shock and still ended up going out with him on Valentines but with another date... we did a big group thing. A few weeks later, he and that girl broke up and one night we were just hanging out and he was about to run to get some food for us all... I chased him down the stairs and kissed him. The rest is history!

What is your most favorite childhood smell and why?
There are 2...
1. Crayons- the smell of crayons reminds me of so much! I love it!
2. Cover Girl Powder- It reminds me of my mom she has worn this powder my entire life. When I smell it I just immediately picture my momma!

What is your favorite meal to cook for the little fam?
Oh, If only I could cook! I do love to cook pork, I love pasta... but overall Gavin is the best cook in this family!

Are you going to run any more marathons?
At this point I would say probably not. I had a hard time training for this one. Injuries and time just made it more difficult then it should have been.

Do you want more children? Yes!
When? I have no idea!

Your fav color?
Purple! It really always has been... plus it compliments green which is the color of my eyes!

How the heck do you find the time to blog, design blogs, work out and still call me and talk nearly everyday?
Can you tell this question is from one of my best friends?
I have NO idea how I do it! I do not feel organized at all in life so it must just work somehow! I do talk a lot in the car and blog when I have a creative stump... that is why I have weeks when I blog ALL The time and weeks when I forget!

T's First Day of Summer Camp

The night before th big Day we had Alana and Jackson (my niece and nephew) spend the night with us!
Travis was in heaven with the kiddos here! It made the night better for me since I had stuff to do and not worry about my kiddo going to MDO the next day!
We got up in the morning and all got ready. Travis headed outside with Jackson and saw a rabbit running across the street and up on the sidewalk we were on...
There goes the Rabbit...
There goes the kid after the rabbit!

The day went well... of course I teared up when I dropped him off and he cried and grabbed my leg. AHHH I got sweaty and sick and felt like I was going to throw up!
Thankfully I had some experienced moms comforting me! I headed out and had a busy day so I didn't have to sit and worry about him all day!
When I picked him up at 230, his teacher said he did really well after he stopped crying!
That he tried to steal his friends food at lunch and also didn't want to nap (So he is a grump-a-lump tonight!!! That did not surprise me at all, napping away from your norm is hard for most people! !
But he was great and she said he was able to communicate what he needed all day!
Good News!
We headed to Gigis after school to say good bye to my brother who headed back to Florida this evening and the kiddos headed back home with us!
Travis was so excited that the kids were spending the night again!

He was all smiles!
HAHAHA

In fact all the kids were HAPPY!

We ended the day with a extremely exhausted kid who has not slept all day and a little BLING!

YAY, its over! I am praying that Thursday will be a bit easier for us both!

Countdown to summer camp!

On Tuesday Travis is going to start summer camp. This is going to be his first experience with a mothers day out program... Every mother that I have EVER talked to says the time it is going to give me will be wonderful, I am excited about that. I am also really nervous to drop him off and go. I have been ALL about Travis for over 2 years now and this is going to be so different for us. I am totally planning on tearing up when I drop him off, I am hoping hey will wait until I get in the car though... so I am not the SAPPY mom! HAHAHAHHAAA! Thankfully Travis is going to school with a ton of my close girl friends kiddos and the kids are all Travie's friends and he knows them pretty well. So, I will have a great support system for my mommy emotions!
(Thanks in advance GIRLS!!!! LOVE YOU)

Man, I am so anxious already... WHY is this getting to me?

Wordless Wednesday Interupted...

If you don't laugh at this... then I have no idea how to make you laugh!
This may be a "you had to be there" story... but just imagine if you were an outsider looking in on these crazies (my family) how hilarious that would be!

This evening the 3 of us went to my mom and s-dads house for dinner because my niece and nephew had just gotten in from Memphis. We were all hanging out by the pool , having a great, relaxing afternoon and my niece comes out complaining of a bad tummy issue. She said she had to many peanuts and to much coke on the airplane and it made her gassy... Ok, Sure, Whatever!
My S-dad was a little floored that his 14 year old niece would be tooting in front of him. .. and not just little toots, HUGE ones. We all kinda laughed it off and went about our day until right before dinner.O noticed my mom was laughing so hard about something she was about to pee her pants. I of course was extremely curios and had to see what was up. Well, her friend had let her borrow her fart machine. You press a button on a little remote and it sets off this other piece with a nasty, loud fart. Everyone in the house knew about it BUT my nephew. He is 10... and extremely gullible! Right after dinner I had it and said the burgers killed my tummy and needed some gas X. He was floored that his aunt would toot in front of everyone... Then it was my nieces turn! She put the receiving (tooter) end in her pocket and I had the remote and the kids were playing basketball. Every time she would jump or bend over I would make it go off... My Nephew was about to die, he thought ever toot smelled and would run off. We were all about to come unglued. We did this for well over an hour, alternating from my niece, to Gavin to myself. At one point he even told us that all the farts sounded the same. IT was 830 when we left and he was still convinced his family had the worst gastro problems EVER! My niece is planning on keeping it up all night. What a RIOT!
Here is a video of them playing basketball... there were a few toots in the middle but the only one loud enough is at the end. Excuse my goofy voice and laugh... I always think I sound silly on record!

Oh Boys...

Boys will always 100% of the time,
BE BOYS!

Last night some of our dear friends came over with there son Trevor. Travis and Trevor have always been a pair but after not seeing each other for while, they really had a hay day last night!

We were in the midst of putting Travis' bed together and stopped after we realized that the crib-bed conversion was not as simple as the instructions said... nothing lined up right (OF COURSE!)

They boys decided they wanted to play in the bed... So fun!

They started off just messing around until the Mommas came in and asked them to do Ring around The Rosie...
Ring Around the Rosie,
Pocket full of Posies...
Ashes, Ashes...
We all fall down...
AND WRESTLE!
ROUGH AND TUMBLE!
What a pair!

So, they of course pleased there moms by singing the song and being silly walking in a circle but also had to make sure they got a little BOY-NESS in too!

June...

I can NOT believe this year is flying by so fast.
This month is going to be very eventful!
This week my niece, nephew and brother are coming to visit...
Next weekend, I have a baby shower for a wonderful friend.
The next week Travis starts summer camp on the 10th (OH MY GOODNESS) and we say goodbye to my family that day as well, boohoo!
We have a birthday party on the 14th, then on the 20th we are going to celebrate our anniversary (which is the 26th) in San Antonio!
We have another birthday party the last weekend of the month and then its July.

HOLY COW.... What a BUSY summer its going to be!

** stay tuned for new carpet pics!!!!**
