Not-So Wordless Wednesday!

My Hubs and I talked last night about doing some improvements to our house... YAY!
So in order to get the walls and painted and new carpet we have to de-clutter.
HOW DO YOU DE-CLUTTER?
I need to call that show from TLC when they come into your house, dig everything out ad make you "purge" what you really DO NOT need. HA! Whats it called?
Anyways, I never really thought I was a pack rat... "thought" is the main word there... of course I never wanted to admit it was me that kept collecting the junk. It is always easier to blame someone else... "TRAVIS STOP COLLECTIONG CRAP!" HAHAHAHAHA! Right...
Then I started REALLY looking around. Yep, I am a PACK RAT!
I still have all my art supplies from college... all my books, my book bag... really? I don't need it do I?
Sheesh...
So here is my question to the cyber world...
HOW DO YOU DE-CLUTTER YOUR HOUSE?
Is there a way to get started?
I NEED HELP!
I really want new carpet :)

Flushed Lopsidedly

What a day I have had...
I should have known by the way it all started that it would be crazy!

On Fridays I usually teach my Strollerfit class at 9am but today I switched and was teaching at 1030 so my morning had way more time then I was use too... Which is good and bad I learned this morning!
Travis woke up like normal at 7am and I got up to get him half out of it... jut like every morning!
I made breakfast for us both and we sat down to watch cartoons and continue waking up.
Finally I decided to peel myself off the couch and check my email and see how my Splat contest was doing and check for any new SF news... and Travis came upstairs with me to check my email and then he went back down... To "get his night night"... YEAH RIGHT!
It was about 3 minutes later that I decided I needed to go start getting ready so we could run an errand and get my mom a bed rail since Travis will be hanging out with her this weekend!
I headed to my bathroom and Travis was in there... which I had heard him walk in there about a minute earlier and had an idea of what he was going to do (play in the tub)... Unfortunetly I was totally wrong!
Instead of crawling in the bathtub and pouring out all of his shampoo he decided to get mamas contacts and flush them down the potty!
No joke!
I walked in to my bathroom and saw Travis playing nicely in the bathtub... (remember this was about 3 minutes after the climbed downstairs...) maybe a little less.
I took my glasses off to put my contacts on and headed to my vanity to grab my contact case and didn't see it... I had to put my glasses back on to find my contact case. It was MIA, all that was there was the right (green side) cap that screws on to the base. Uh Oh!
I looked everywhere... in the bathtub, Gavin's sink, trash can, NOTHING!
I decided to go ahead and pee and headed to the potty, as I was sitting down I looked in the water and noticed my contact case. I was floating in the potty!
OH NO! This was my last pair of contacts,,, since I procrastinated ordering new ones because they are so damn expensive!
SHOOT... I was out and the last pair I had are gone!
Trav had flushed them.
The remainders were an almost dried contact stuck to the toilet seat and the lid to one side of the case... I was screwed and only had my new glasses (that are pretty cute I might add but...) that have never been fitted to my face and were totally crooked! and I had to teach class.... I HATE working out in glasses, they slide off of your nose and if your not use to it they make your balance crazy!
So, Travis and I hurried to get ready so we could head to Walmart at 9am to get my glasses fitted to my face... and of course there was a line!
So, we walked around for a while and then headed back to the eye department...
The head lady helped us and she was wonderful and took my glasses to fit them to my face.!
Wonderful!
BUT... after about 5 minutes of trying on and her taking them back to tweak , she decided to tell me that I had the most crooked ears she had ever fit glasses to.
So, maybe me being so clumsy is because I have lopsided ears...
HUMMM, something to think about!

I had to call my eye doc after that and order new contacts and ended up heading over there this afternoon... I told the girls that that the Walmart lady told me that I had the most lopsided ears she has ever fitted glasses to and they laughed and agreed.

What a day... My kid flushed my contacts and I find out I have crooked ears.
Now I have a great excuse for tripping and dropping things all the time!
" My ears are crooked!, whats your excuse! HA"

Toddler Tales #12

When we pulled up to Strollerfit this morning and he had taken his shoes off... Pretty normal for Travis. I thought nothing off it and figured it would be the "normal" fight to get them back on before getting out of the car.
I started getting my stuff out of the trunk and I could hear him talking or singing to himself and I just blew it off...
When I went to get him out of his car seat he was holding his foot up in his lap and saying...
"this little piggy went to market.."
In Travis language it was more like..
"piggy went marget"

I was floored!
Ha!

A friend of Travis' got him a really awesome Nursery Rhymes book for his birthday and we read it ALL THE TIME! Every time we read the "piggy" one he wants me to wiggle his toes...
Now he does it to himself!
HOW CUTE!

PC went hunting..

Anyone that has followed the adventures of Stanley (PC=Piss Cat) know that after all the peeing episodes we were letting him spend time outside. Then he went on a 5 1/2 week adventure and found his way home and has become an inside/outside cat...
At 730pm (to the second, no joke)he will go to the back door and meow like crazy until you let him out. He will go off and do whatever and either come back in an hour or so or return in the morning sometime before we get up. He waits for us on the table we have right at our back window and will meow for us to open the door when he sees one of us in the house. Tonight was the same as every night, we let him out at 730 and did not expect to see him until tomorrow morning. About 10 we heard a meow at the back door and there was Stanley with a present. He had been hunting and brought us his prey. Sad thing is that he caught a baby, I would say less then a day or 2 old, baby bunny. Oh, its breaking my heart. It was so itty bitty. Stanley just stood there with a look of accomplishment on his face. I have always heard that when a cat brings home it's victim, it is trying to show you that it considers you part of its family. Well, maybe he is finally telling us that he likes it here... Maybe!?

At least it wasn't a snake or something that was still alive!

Toddler Tales #11

Every night getting Travis to go to bed is a bit of an adventure.
He is doing REALLY well I have to say but some nights are harder then others especially if it is storming outside or his allergies are bothering him (recent issues)
When nights are really rough I will lay down with him until he gets so relaxed he is almost completely asleep.
I will rub his back, pat his back, sing to him anything to help him get relaxed enough to fall asleep.
I will tell him to close his eyes and think of what he did during the day and we will sometimes talk about his day ect...

Then today I went in his room to put him down for a nap. I sat on the edge of his bed and told him he needed to lay down with Cookie Monster and Elmo and close his eyes...
He wasn't liking that, so he came right up to me and grabbed my face on either side and said
" Mommy, lay down, close eyes, Travie Leave room"
I said "WHAT did you say???"...
and he repeated himself word for word.
That little toot was trying to out me down for a nap!
I think he sees the circles under my eyes!
HA!

Tiny Tunnel of Torture!

Today I had an MRI to find out what is causing this goofy numbness in my left arm, hand and foot...

The doc thinks it is a pinched nerve so I really and not too concerned!
I have never had an MRI before... I have had some other testing but never in that tiny tunnel.
Yes, I am claustrophobic... not really so much of tiny spaces but of tight areas when it is stuff with no air ,movement, that is when I get uncomfy. I was not to concerned about the tunnel part. Actually I did not really even think about the MRI as being something scary or whatever until I walked into the room. I was not really scared though, more shocked at how my body was going to fit in this little tube and how I was going to keep myself from moving for 30-45 minutes. Anyone who knows me knows I do not stay still long at all. The tech/nurse? whatever she is called...who was a riot and so nice, had me lay on the board thing and get comfy. She put a big pillow under my knees, stuck head phones in my ears, an emergency button in case I freaked out (possible at this point) and added the next brace to keep my head form moving. I am sure if I did not have that I would have totally moved my head. She warned me that it would be loud and that the headphones will help. SHE MUST HAVE NEVER BEEN IN THIS THING! I believed her, since I had nothing else to go by and slowly started rolling backwards into the MRI machine. As I was headed backwards all I could focus on was 2 lights that were running at about 10 and 2 down the tube and some sort of square box thing that looked like you could pop it open with a screw driver and stick your hand up in the machine. No Thanks! Then the banging started... loud noises? Shoot I thought a jack hammer was right above my head. I pushed the emergency button because I swore I was hearing more then I was suppose to and with every bang my body would just jump because it was so obnoxiously loud. She came over the speaker and asked if I was ok and I asked her if it was suppose to sound like a jack hammer pounded through metal right over my head. She said "not really" and turned my music up in the head phones. I swear the second the banging started again the music stopped and the headphones turned into some noise magnifier. It was TORTURE! I called her again with the emergency button, at this point I am sure she thinks I am a nut case... and she again turned my music up, which turned off again as soon as the banging started. I decided to suck it up and get through my 35 minutes of complete torture. I was miserable... of course when you are NOT suppose to move at all, my nose was itching, my foot needed to twitch, I was about to sneeze, my contact felt like it fell out of my eye. Every single thing that could possible annoy me to death happened. You know when you get an itch somewhere and you need to scratch it so bad but cant reach it? That was me X's 100... since I couldn't even take a deep breathe.
Can you imagine...
stuck in a tube, with a jack hammer banging through metal over your head, you cant move at all, cant see anything but 2 lights going straight down to nowhere and you are itchy all over., but can not move at all or you will have to go through the same 35 minutes all over again.

A little over a month left...

It is crazy to think that the half marathon is in little over a month... like as in 1 month and 5 days!
WOW!
Training for this run has been pretty crazy so far...
I have gone from being so excited and pumped to nervous and feeling a bit defeated.
After Sasha passed I kinda lost it a bit in many ways... including putting training on hold for a while.
This was not too terrible for my running but has put some strain on my health.
Unfortunetly when I get really depressed I get a major eating disorder... not the kind that keeps your from eating. The kind that is eating to make you hurt less.
I have always been an emotional over eater and this did not help with my issues... It has made me gain unwanted weight that I worked so hard to get off and the weight gain has made me feel awful!
Because I am training for this run and can not start a full on diet like South Beach because I for sure need the carbs to work out and run... I have decided to attempt a HUGE lifestyle change.
I started my endeavor last week and have done really good on my step 1.
My life style change is this...
Eat Healthy and do NOT over eat!
Last Monday I started making Smoothies that contain veggies and fruits.
This has been so fun and for sure a learning experience...
Thanks to all the friends and family that have tried the crazy new flavors or smoothies Yummy or not :)
Starting tomorrow I will stop snacking on junk ... I wouldn't say I snack on things that are BAD for me... just snacking in general is something I need to STOP doing all together!
I figure after a week of adding more fruits and veggies my body is not going to be in complete shock when I stop eating so many carbs. I am still going to eat carbs of course... just better ones. Whole grain breads and crackers, replacing the bad with way better.
My goal is to not feel like I am running with not needed extra weight when it comes to race day!

Now back to the race!
I am getting really excited the closer it gets.
I plan on crossing the finish line on May 18th with a HUGE sense of accomplishment...
raising money for a wonderful cause and training with a wonderful friend has just been so awesome and will be so great to celebrate it all after it is all over!

I have raised $1224 and need just $576 more to reach my goal!
Any help would be wonderful!

I cant believe I have come this far and yet still have so much more to travel!

13 Things that have REALLY been ticking me of about night time television recently!

1. WHERE ARE THE GOOD SHOWS? and When will they be back?
2. Re-runs, I am burnt out of reruns!
3. Idol Gives Back... was NOT as good as last year by a long shot!
4. Dancing with the Stars has more filler time then any other reality show.
5. Biggest Loser keeps adding tweaks to the game which seems a little unfair.
6. My DVR always seems to miss the last few minutes that are needed on shows.
7. Lost... I Still think the writers NEVER thought the show was going to go far so they didn't plan for the "future" and now they are just struggling to find an end that makes sense!
8. The DUMB game shows that commercial show to be SO INTENSE and they really are not special at all!
9. Did I mention I am ready for the GOOD shows to come back!
10. The commercials seem to be longer and shows shorter.
11. The ridiculous plugs for certain companies like Extra in the Biggest Loser... Can you make it a little MORE obvious?
12. New shows that fail to make it through their first 5 episodes. Like Cashmire Mafia... I really thought I liked that one!
13. Shows moving to different days and times after this big break.... I need to hire someone to come in a set up my DVR for all the shows I love! SHEESH

Fishing in the Toilet...

My mom got Travis a fishing pole for Christmas (I think it was...) It is one of the mini ones that looks and works like a big pole, just has Super Man on there and is bright red, So Fun!It has always stayed at my moms house so he could fish in the pool and the other day Travis asked for one for our house... I told him I would get him one IF he was a good boy when we went grocery shopping. He was a PERFECT Angel ( of course) so I stuck to my word and bought him the little fishing pole... (the same exact one, even though he had tons of options) for our house. He has loved it, casting it out and reeling it in like a big boy... Until today!
I was going to the bathroom and could hear him making his way to the hallway reeling in his pole and I just had a feeling he was coming into the restroom to fish... OH NO! I tried to hurry and finish and flush so I could shut the door and keep him from fishing in the potty, but his little body just moved way to fast into the bathroom and as I was flushing he cast his little rubber fish in the toilet and down it went. We still had the line in our hands, he was reeling it in and I was pulling with all my might and the fish just kept going... The line kept on too... Finally I was able to pull it enough that it popped and the line flung over to us.
He was devastated.... Now we have a little orange frog tied to the end of his pole, but I don't think it is living up to the red fishes standards :( Poor little red rubber fish... he is having to hang with all the real DEAD fish that get flushed daily.

He did what?

I cant believe it at all!
Travis put himself to bed for nap ...
Gavin stayed home with him this morning so I could go teach a class and said that all of a sudden it got really quite in our house. He went to look for Travis and he was in his bed laying down. Gavin said that he was kicking and messing around for a minute then totally fell asleep. I am floored!
He was up at 545 this morning... SHOOT ME IN THE HEAD!
After not going to sleep till well after 9, that is too early for anyone!
I tried EVERYTHING to get him back to sleep when he started shrieking at 545, but I got shot down at every attempt... NOT FAIR!
So, My little prince is sleeping well before his normal nap. I hope this does NOT mean we will have a 2 year old bear on our hands later... AHHHHH!
