Angels Next Door

This evening I walked next door to take a box of bottles to my neighbors. This is just a few of the many things I have and will be giving them over the next month or so. My neighbors Matt and Amy are becoming foster parents. I am so elated to know people that will take time in their YOUNG lives to help, love and protect children in need. I have known for months that they were working though the hundreds of papers to get certified to be foster parents, but it was not until tonight when I went into their house that I realized how enormous their hearts really are! In the process of becoming foster parents you have to get your house and life ready to take on children of almost any age... Think about it, clothing for boys and girls in all sizes and seasons, Diapers, blankets, sleeping quarters, safety precautions, toys, feeding accessories... and on and on and on!
I of course am a very interested neighbor of sorts, and they are close friends of ours.. so it has killed me to see moving trucks, organizers, new furniture and tons of people going in and out of their house in the last few months! But tonight I got the tour to see what has been going on.
They have transformed their house into a place for any child that needs some love and care!
They have a playroom with a daybed and nursery, toys and clothes and almost everything...
I was beyond impressed!
What really got to me was that when you become a foster parent you do not get the showers and gifts and hand-me-downs like you do when you are pregnant. You have to provide all of this stuff on your own and for more then one newborn... children of all ages, sizes, ect. It becomes crazy and I am sure expensive!
As I was sitting and talking to them I realized all the things that I have that I can donate or lend to them... I have a list and am going to start pulling all I can out of hiding to let them use!
We have given them a crib, changing table, bottles and I have a few other things also...
but there is so much more that they need!
I wish I could do more, and when I see a challenge I jump for it! This is something I really want to help with!

They are also registered on Amazon for items and will KILL me when they read my blog and find out I am putting this on here...
If they get $750 worth of gifts, Amazon will give them $250 worth of FREE diapers.
That is an amazing deal when you have to have diapers in ALL sizes!
So, if anyone has the means and wants to help PLEASE do...
They have items on there that are $5 and under, Lets get those free diapers for them!

I made this button linking back to this site,
