Making it special!

Travis LOVES his Night-Night... his little blanket he sleeps with every night! He hasn't been feeling to well lately so Night-Night has been a constant addition to this little guys hand... he sucks his finger and rubs his face with the silky red blankey. It more like the size of a wash cloth that my mom made him when he was itty bitty, and it is one of the may loves of his life!

It was so sweet this evening when he decided that he wanted Night-Night to be an ornament on the tree!

He looked and found the best spot for it to go...

Sat down and carefully placed it on the branch!
And then stood back to admire his work...
He was so proud that he stood up pointed to his Night-Night and yelled "PRETTY" with the biggest smile on his face!
It doesn't get much better then that!

Stroller Skating

Thursday Morning we went Stroller Skating with some Strollerfit girls!
It was a BLAST!
We all had our kiddos in their strollers and skates on skating around the rink...

I gotta tell yah, it was a big workout since I haven't skated in YEARS!
Here are a few of the Mamas looking mighty HOT in their skates!
( That is Travis turned around in his stroller watching his Mama!)

And look at these 2 Hot Mamas!
This was during out water break from skating with the kiddos!

I use to skate at this same rink when I was younger and it seems SO MUCH smaller now that I am an adult.
Crazy how that works!

I hit it...

I have hit my breaking point!
I didn't think it would happen so soon, but to look back on all that has happened... I have lasted a long time! I think the major issues with Travis started about 4 months ago when he had double ear infections that never cleared up. He was really sick for about a month, had a week break and then had another set of double infections. During those first and second sessions with infections we found out Travis was allergic to penicillin, due to his first of now 2 allergic reactions to antibiotics. Since he had a bad reaction we took him off the meds and let the infections try to clear up n there own.. They never did. We were back at the doctor within 10 days and back on another antibiotic. Zithromax, is the only one the doc would give him since he never has a bad reaction. After the antibiotic had a chance to work... Travis was still not 100%. Back to the doctor we went. He said his ears were still pink but not flaming with infection so he wanted to try and not start another dose since kiddos can get immune to antibiotics if you use them over and over. They came back and this time with a bad fever. Back to the doc we went.. back on an antibiotic, this time we re-tried Omnicef and Travis had another bad reaction. Horrible stomach cramps and horrible poop-splosions on top of a high fever and ear aches. So, we were off of the antibiotic again, and back to the doctor again. Another does of Zithromax proved he was getting immune and we had to sit on these infections until we saw an ENT... that was the first guy that I didn't like to much. He seemes to busy to really listen to Travis' issues. I hate docs like that! Then I turned into ranging momma and went back to our doc, he was on another dose of something like Zithromax but a higher dose and got a BAD allergic reaction the night after seeing ENT #2 that was actually attentive and is why we are actually getting things fixed for Travis. His rash is awful, it looks like chicken pox or poison ivy it is every where and growing...He is so itchy it is making me itch! We have been giving him benadryl now for 2 1/2 days and it does not seem to be making a difference. During all of this Gavin thought it would be a good idea to go see a holistic doctor that uses acupressure on toddlers to cure colds ect... I was immediately negative towards this idea.. I had no interested at all until I found out that Travis is not allergic to any antibiotic that a toddler can take. Since this last one was a form of Zithromax he will not be able to take that one again. Joyous! My mom and I took Travis to see Dr. Chen the holistic Doc this morning and loved him. He was calm and professional and so sweet to Travis. He has kind aura about him that immediately made us all feel at ease. He rubbed Travis' neck to clear out his drainage tubes from his ears to his throat and lungs ( I think). He rubbed his back and it really looked like Trav was enjoying the massage, LOL! He told us that we needed to not let Travis drink cold drinks, just room temperature, no fan in his room, something warm around his neck when he sleeps like a turtle neck and to keep socks on him when he is walking around. Doesn't seem bad but he has been begging for ice all day. After the appointment this morning we went Stroller Skating with our Strollerfit friends and had a great time but Travis never seemed on his A game. Just a bit ikky and tired. We headed home and I needed to stop and run some errands on the way and he peed out of his diaper all over us both, so great! We left the store and went straight back to the car to change him. Of course I had no extra pants so I just pout him in a diaper to ride home... Not a good idea. He was scratching his rash so bad that he almost made himself bleed. I pulled over and he had to wear his wet pants all the way home. Poor guy! We made it home, changed him, had lunch and he he went to sleep... Then I lost it. I cant seem to get myself to stop worrying, crying or to chill. I feel like I have lived at the doctor with Travis for months and nothing has helped. I know that I need to see the light at the end of the tunnel with this surgery but I keep thinking there is something else.
***
In the midst of my post the lady in charge of scheduling Travis surgery called and was a doll. She explained step by step what Travis was going to go through Monday morning. It made me feel a ton better! He will be put under for 30 minutes MAX and then just have a sore throat afterwards.
That seemed to calm my nerves a bit, it would be nice if they would explain all of this in the beginning before the moms flip out over their precious babies being put under for surgery.

Sorry for the negative post...
Please keep us in your prayers!

.....................................
Last night when I got home from Restore The Core... Gavin mentioned to me that Travis had a weird rash on his legs that he noticed when he was giving him a bath. That he wasn't sure what it and he wanted me to attempt to check it out while Travis was sleeping. HA! I was pretty sure from just hearing the word RASH that Travis was having another allergic reaction to the antibiotic he was just put on. I went into his room and got him out of bed... I know it was so torturous for him but I had to see the rash. By the time Gavin saw it and the time I did it was about 2 1/2 hours. Travis was covered in rash. COVERED! G and I struggled with out sleepy little guy to get him to take some benadryl and we watched him for about 30 minutes and put him back in bed. I got up about 4-5 times to check him and hear him breath... I guess I am just anal like that! When we all got up this morning, Travis looked like he had chicken pox... he didn't but was still having a reaction to the medicine. This is the last antibiotic kiddos his age can take, he has had a reaction to anything with Penicillin, a bad reaction to a few more and now a NASTY rash almost like the Penicillin one he got... this was from Clarithromycn. Sheesh poor kiddo is allergic to everything! I called the doc this morning and took Travis in to see him to just make double sure it was an allergy to the meds and not something else. Thanks goodness he is on the road to recovery, besides some itchy bumps all over his body... he will be great asap! In the meantime I got the call from the scheduler at the new ENT we went to for Trav's surgery.... AHHHHHH! He is scheduled for next Monday, December 3rd. THAT IS SO SOON! But, the doc want it to be done sooner then later so that Travis does not have to suffer through the cold weather where all the colds are more common. Wow, I haven't even really had a second to flip out.... I am just hoping this surgery , tubes and potential adenoid removal will help my little guy be healthy again!

Travis as an Elf!

A ton of my friends have been sending these out... so I had to make a silly one for Travis!
Click on the picture to see him dance!

2nd opinion....

I took Travis to another ENT/Allergist this morning to get a second opinion. The first guy we went to really pissed us all off because when he sent the diagnoses to our family doc it said nothing about what we talked about at the appointment. He didnt even have our family history correct. What a pain! Anyways we got the name of a new doc from a friend of the family and it ended up being a God Send! He was amazing... not warm and fuzzy like I would want for a pediatric doc but he was honest, concerned and full of tons of info. He said that Travis is one of those kiddos that has constant fluid in his ears that can get infected really easily which will cause the constant ear infections. He also said that allergies have nothing to do with Trav's issues. So, we get to keep the animals.. LOL! Travis had a hearing test and did ok but not great. It was a tortuous experience having to hold Travis on a chair in a tiny room smaller then a bathroom that just hold a toilet. The noises came from 3 toys in 2 in the corners behind him and one right in front of him. He would have to turn and look when he heard a noise. Bad thing is, he was NO dealing with it at all. He hated the small room, HATED having to be held down and was just miserable. My mom even tried to smash in there with us to help. HA, that was a site to be seen! After the test the doc came back into see us and said that he is recommending tubes and maybe T having his adenoids taken out. He thinks that his adenoids are staying infected which could be causing his infections. That is something he will make the decision at the time of the surgery. If he just gets tubes the doc said he will be perfect that afternoon but if he has his adenoids removed it could be a 2 day recovery. YUK! Overall this appointment was just what I wanted... full of info on how to make my baby healthy again! We find out in a day or so when the surgery will be. He does want it done asap, so it could be with in the next 2 weeks. I am sure I will have a breakdown post before his surgery... Right now I am relieved that my son will have relief soon, but I know I will start freaking out about the surgery as soon as there is a date.
Keep us in your prayers!!! I will post more info when I get it!

Pretty...

Travis is IN LOVE with the Christmas decorations!
He has been walking around the house saying "pretty" at everything!

Can you see the soccer ball ornament with the Santa Hat?
That is his favorite, he has been moving it from branch to branch and is so proud of himself.
I love this age! He is very observant and does NOT miss a thing, he also gets that he can touch certain ornaments but the others are Momma's pretty things so he will just point!

I will post pictures of all my Christmas Decor as soon as I finish!
Please let me know if you post yours, I love looking at how other decorate!
I am very guilty of getting a case of "Tree Envy" (as my mom calls it)... when I see a tree that is beautiful!

Tis two days after the Turkey...

...and all through my house are a ton of tired people and even a toy mouse. HA!
We got home this afternoon from Gavin's parents house. It was a good trip, cold and rainy but GOOD! We got to see my Sister-in-law (Ashley) and her boyfriend (Mario) and my brother-in-law (Ryan) and of course Papa and Nana... We drove down to Austin on Wednesday and when we left Dallas it was int eh 50's when we got to Austin it was still in the high 70's crazy huh? But within hours the cold front had caught up with us and it was damn chilly! We had a blast the entire time! Wednesday night the young adults went out to 6th street and hung out at a few bars while Papa and Nana babysat the little guy! We went to this one bar that actually had an old Nintendo and Atari to play. We had a BLAST playing Super Mario Brothers! Then we all made it home but the night did not end, Travis was having a hard time sleeping in a new place and being in the same room with us. Gavin snores, I was coughing and the bed was squeaky... sheesh no wonder he couldn't sleep! He ended up being up all night and finally fell asleep for about 2 hours in our bed but I didn't sleep becaue I was afraid Gavin would roll over on him. What a night! We got up on Turkey day and the kitchen was in full motion from the crack of dawn!

Pies and turkey, beans and potatoes... it smelled so awesome my stomach was growling all day! We went for a short walk to try and stretch our legs but because it was freezing, none of us lasted to long. Travis really enjoyed walking the dog and riding on Dada and Papa's shoulders!

We all sat down and had an awesome dinner, My MiL thought it was not as good as normal, but I think she is crazy... it was an amazing dinner! She needs to give herself more credit, that woman can COOK! Every Year we take a family photo usually when the table is set and looking gorgeous, but this year we had a little timer... NAMED TRAVIS! So the before dinner photo was taken afterwards!

We had a relaxing evening, all sat in front of the TV watching football, Private Practice and Grey's Anatomy! LOVE IT ALL! Its good to share favorite TV shows with family! We ended the night with a FUN game of Cranium! Gotta say, the girls kicked the guys booties...
Friday morning we all got up and the guys headed to the shooting range to shoot some skeet. My FiL's new hobby is skeet shooting and the guys LOVED it! Travis took an early nap and Nana and I rearranged the dining room (a little Trading Spaces for fun!) and as we were messing around in her sewing room I looked out the window and saw a deer like 5 feet from us...
I ran to get my camera and got the left shot from the window, then about 1 minutes later out of the dining room window I saw 2 more deer... I grabbed my camera and ran out on the front porch. It was shocking to see them so close... just awesome! I was so excited!

Then we packed up and left this morning... in the cold rain! YUK!
Travis did awesome in the car, he is a champ!
We have 1 month until we go back after Christmas and Travis is going to love it he will get to see his grandparents, Auntie and his other uncle that wasn't in for Turkey day!
What a weekend...

I have to mention that the Razorbacks Kicked LSU's booty!
GO HOGS!

Have a Great Turkey Day!

Hope you all travel safe and eat well!
Happy Thanksgiving!
I still can NOT believe it is that time of year!

We will be back on Saturday!
Much Love
The 3 of us!

Addictions & Ears

So, I have this new obsession with Greek food...
I know it doesn't sound like a bad food addiction but let me tell yah I CRAVE everything they have at this restaurant!
After Strollerfit today Travis was just about DONE being confined to his stroller so there was really no easy way to go to lunch and eat without a fight so we headed home.
I just could not get the thought of having hummus and cauliflower I did a search online and found a site that delivers all the BEST food in my city.
Yep, I am sitting here waiting for the super yummy hummus, cauliflower and green beans to be delivered to my door!
The good thing about it all is that it is all good for yah. They use olive oil and hummus is on my list of foods I should eat daily!

You jealous? Ha, you should be :)

Yesterday Travis and I went to the doc because we both have been coughing, not feeling sick or anything but I have been coughing constantly for 4 days and since we are traveling for Turkey day i wanted to make sure neither one of us were ikky sick. The doc checked us both out and said it was either a viral infection or allergies so of course we are fine and just have to brave it... BUT, the doc looked in Travis' ears and his infections have not cleared up on the antibiotic he took that is suppose to be in his system until Thursday. NOT GOOD! He actually said they are worse now then before... JUST DANDY! So, I right after the appointment I called the ENT we had been going to and they just were not helpful at all. They cant see us for like another week and a half. Why are they so busy all the darn time? ARGH! So, I got the name of another ENT that is also an Allergist. YAY we go see him a week from Thursday. I am so excited, now we do not have to go see 2 different doctors
for T's ear and allergies. Since I am sure they are related some way, this doc seems like a God-send!
I have a feeling the little guy is going to have to get tubes but at least we can talk about his allergies also and see if it may have anything related to the cats or dog fur that is all over our house.

We are leaving tomorrow mid-morning to head to Austin to be with G's family for Turkey Day. I have been praying that Trav's ears do not get worse while we are there, that would STINK!
But, they don't have cats so it may prove to us that the cats are a bit responsible for Mr. T's ears adn colds all the time.

Fingers crossed!

...all I heard was THONG!

Today Travis and I had a Dr's appointment and were running way early so we stopped at Kohls so I could get some undies that I like to work out in. I have only found this kind at Kohls so I go there anytime I want some news ones... Okay that may be to much info but I have to give you a lead in to this story. Travis and I ran into the Kohls with one thing to get so we just were in and out in a few minutes. He sat like a big boy in the cart and we went right to the intimates area found my undies, grabbed a few and took off to check out. Super simple!
There was another mom in front of us with a child that was being VERY bad. He was stomping and yelling and just not getting his way so he continued acting naughty and Travis and I were just watching this situation. I was interested in how the mom was going to handle this child and Travis has never seen a big kid throw a fit so he was just really paying attention. I really hoped he saw what happened next...
Travis and I got up to the check out lady, who was a sweet older (grandmother-type) woman who was just loving Travis... I was still kinda watching this mom out of the corner of my eye because I was totally impressed with how she was handling this child until she took him by his arm and swapped his bottom really hard... SHEESH, Travis didn't see that, thank goodness. He was flirting with the check out lady.
I am not one to judge how people discipline their children, but I do not agree with hitting your child... especially hitting in public. But that is my opinion... so I was not paying much attention to the check out lady until I heard her say "THONG" really loud. I flipped my head around so fast and said "Pardon"... I am so sure I was bright red at this time. No, these panties were NOT thongs, I cannot run in a thong so therefor they are not my under garment of choice when I work out... That is why I was floored when she said thong! She then asked me again... since I was obviously more interested in the show then the check out lady. Not that I meant to be to interested in that family drama, but I would love to have any examples from moms with older boys when they act like that just in case Travis ever does it. I was not starring bluntly just trying to watch out of the corner of my eye... DON'T judge me, you all have done it.. HAHAHAHAA!
Ok, Back to "THONG" ahhhhh! She then proceeded to ask me again if I was getting these because i did not like to wear thongs... they are the boy short style. Ummm, well I cant imagine my grandmother knowing what a thong is so when this lady asked I was just speechless. I mean like Pardon came out of my mouth without even thinking about what I was saying... She then went on to tell me about how she has a 12 year old granddaughter that asked her to secretly buy her thongs and she wanted to know if these boy shorts worked the same way (not showing panty lines) because she did not want to go behind her sons back and buy her granddaughter thongs. WHAT! I would NEVER ask my grandmother to buy me panties let alone THONGS... the granddaughter must have just wanted them that bad. But I have to say this woman seemed to be pretty cool so maybe they have a great relationship.
My face must have been tomato red after this conversation. I could feel heat radiating fro my face. Thank goodness Travis was not old enough to hear about thongs from a grandmother type check out lady. HA!

Tis the Season...

I was just to excited to upload my Holiday template so I did it early!
If you want to add a little spice to your header or template for the holidays...
go check out Splat Creative Designs for the info!

So... whatcha think of my new digs?

Totally Tubular...

...NOT!

This morning we had our 5th visit to the doctor in 3 months for Travis' EARS!!
He has had constant ear infections for about 3 1/2 months now and since he is allergic to penicillin he can not take the meds that would clear it up totally.
The doc finally suggested tubes and going to chat with an ENT about them. This was a HUGE deal I guess since he has not been cured of these awful things in a while. I mean the infection would dry up a bit with the antibiotics he can take but never fully heal so they would and have always come back. Thankfully I am so in tune with Travis' attitude and routines that I can pin point almost to the day when it is back. We always catch it before the fever hits, thankfully during this 3 1/2 month ear infection fest he has only had a fever over 100.3 one time! I am not a fan on medicating the little guy so no fever means I do not have to stress about Tylenol and Motrin all the time!
Now we wait! Out ENT appointment is on Thursday at 11.
I am one of those people that stresses before I even find out the "real" news so I am already worried about Trav having to be put under if he does get tubes.

The fun news about going to the doc so much is that we have gotten to see just how much he has grown... in the last 3 months he has grown about 1 3/4 inches! WOW and stayed about the same weight!

Travis is 36 inches tall ( a whole yard!)and 30.10 lbs
He is between 75%-95% in weight and well over 95% in height!
The nurse said he is like in the 120th%.. was she messing with me?
BASKETBALL scholarship, here we come!

Transformers the Movie!

I am not really a movie person, I have always wanted to be but I just do not have the time or the attention span to watch a full movie! I usually consider a movie a cat nap! Last night some friends came over and we watched Transformers! When I was little I had a few transformers and they would contently live and play with my barbies, co-habitat I should say!! I had heard many good things about this movie so Gavin picked it up and we watched... I was at the edge of my seat! Of course we had 2 snoozers but I am NOT one of them! I loved it! I could not get over the graphics from when the robots were going through the city, you could barley tell that it was a graphic and not a real creature! There were a ton of story lines but I got it, Gavin didn't at all... he gave up on the movie half way through! I feel like such an 80's toy geek now after living the transformers so much! I would suggest it to anyone! It is worth paying the Blockbuster fee!

If I were an Autobot I would totally go after Optimus Prime.... woohoo he is a HOT transformer!
HAHAHAAAAA

YOUCH!

I know that there are times when you work out and do not feel it, just the idea that you worked out makes you feel full-filled! Then there are times that you work out and have a constant reminder for the next day or so because you are so sore you can not even sit on the potty without using your arms as supports and slowly bending.
That is me!
I had a kick-butt workout on Thursday morning and then another one Friday morning.... TONS of leg work, squats, lunges ect... and not I am hating Saturday morning!

Now lets talk about me being BENT OUT OF SHAPE! My son, the torturous Toddler seems to be helping me at this impossible task!

So, we got up and went and met our buds at Starbucks... Well T and I did, Gavin had another thingy this morning! Travis was AWFUL at Starbucks... I mean pulled the major terrible 2's toddler fit, throwing his arms and screaming!
I have no idea what set him off, all I know is that it was a chore and a HUGE fight to get him in the car in his car seat! I am sure everyone that was watching me was wondering what in the world I did to piss my kid off so bad! We drove around for like 20 minutes towards Hobby Lobby and went in and walked around and he was an angel... why at Hobby Lobby and not Starbucks? I don't get it? Then we pack up and head home, it was totally whiny baby all the way home, he would fuss to get his shoes off, fuss about wanting this or that in the car and holy goodness if he threw his night-night one more time and screamed for it.. that thing was about to go out the window! We get home and it is all whines over apple juice that he poured all over the floor... how in the world does my child know how to make spill-proof sippy cups SPILL? I have tried so many times and can not do it, I watch him because I thought maybe he was drinking and then spitting.. umm NO, he is a little baby Houdini!
I laid the little monster down about 20 minutes ago and sat down to write this post and noticed that I could not see a darn thing... I went to go take my contacts out and get my glasses, which I might add are so screwed up from a certain little guy messing with them that the right arm that goes over your ear sits nicely right in front of mine... Oh My! Anyways... I did not have a contact in my left eye... it is MIA. I have no idea when or where it could have popped out of my eye. It may be stuck in my eye, I cant see it though.

Whats going on... I need a vacation!

ITs Thursday and....

Well, I just do not have anything in mind to write about for a Thursday 13 so I thought I would share this with you guys...
I was contacted last week by a PR firm to do reviews for products... This is not a pay per click type of deal. I actually get the items , get to use them in my normal day and see how they work being a busy mama!

I will be posting all of my reviews on Mamavice for all the mamas to check out and see if they would enhance their lives as well...

I will also add a link on my right sidebar under MyStuff for my reviews if you would like to check out the new items!

I promise I will have an awesome T-13 next week!

Travis has more of a social Life then I do... Look at all his buddies!

Look at this crew!
It was amazing to get them all to sit, let alone most of them looking at the camera!
Ages 15 months-20 months

**if you look really close to the right corner you can see all the mamas trying to get the kids to smile and pay attention! HAHAHAAA**
