Of course I was gonna sport the 80's rocker workout outfit. I even woke up and crimped my hair :)

The Rocker Babe & Trav's g-f as Pebbles

The little golfer & Yoda

WW- My Halloween's Past

Caution: There is a picture that is NOT suitable for young viewers!

2007-80's Rocker!

Surpirse...

You are on Candid Camera!

Hahaha, that is what I was waiting to happen to me today!

It all started when My hubs walked out of the closet with a brown striped shirt on and dark Navy pants that almost looked black... I giggled a little and helped him make a better choice. Then he was so kind to help me get Trav ready this morning, it is so funny the different styles we have. Gav picked out a pair of khakis that were to small and tapered legs that were a hand-me-down from a friend and a shirt that I swear looks like something Gavin would wear.. also a hand-me- down.
No Biggy, right? HA! Well the pants made him look bow legged and then Gav put his shoes on but not all the way on his heels, so when he walked in to see me he looked a little funny.
Can you imagine a bow legged little boy with shoes both tilted out to either side.. HA!
Needless to say the kiddo was changed immediately!
LOVE YOU BABE!
Then we went to Strollerfit and that was fun as usual but we had an instructors meeting afterwards. Of course Travis was antsy, I half way expected him to be. But on top of the wiggles he pooped and it smelled AWFUL! So bad that my friend sitting next to me kept smelling her daughter to make sure it wasnt her. EWWW!
I had a babysitter coming this morning to watch Trav so i could go pay a speeding ticket, YES a ticket. GO me... Lead food Lindsay!
I didn't not realize that I would be so much later then she was getting to my house, I felt awful and I couldn't get my phone to work in the mall so I could not call and tell her. When we left the meeting T and I high tailed it out of there... and headed home. You know when you are in a hurry you always attract the slow people. Like there is a magnet in the front of your car that attracts all the Grandfather Christmas' that drive when they shouldn't!
Yep, that happened to me. I swear my 10 minute drive home took 2 hours! HA, not really but damn I was on the edge of my seat.
We finally get there and my poor babysitter had been watching a movie in her car and I am sure was super annoyed with me... but she was a doll and never showed it at all!
I got ready and left to go pay my "I swear officer I wasn't going that fast" speeding ticket and all was fine until I got in the court house, first in line of 5-6 people all looking the way I did, with the "I do not deserve this crap" face on! I had to ditch my awesome spot in line and go get my damn insurance card out of my car. When I got back there were 2 more people and I had to wait again... Doesn't that suck! Argh! After the blah blah court experience I went across the street and treated myself to an eyebrow wax.. YAY! Then I wanted a Diet Dr. Pepper... being on South Beach I get 2 caffiene drinks a day, and I wanted one ASAP! I drove through the Pizza Hut/Taco Bell line and ordered my drink and was so excited to get it... I had a sip as I was making a U turn to head home and realized it was Root Beer... I HATE ROOT BEER! I think it tastes like Pepto Bismol. YUK!
Plus I was not going to ruin my calories on that junk! ARGH!
At this time I decided that I just needed to make it known to the people behind the scenes that they needed to go ahead and come out and surprise me...
I was laughing at myself as I drove home when I had the thought that I was on candid camera!

SURPRISE!

Ha, never happened!

I am not at home, blogging about my crazy morning and still laughing at myself!
Sheesh!

Right Brained or Left

This is so bizarr to me!
Are you more left or right brained?

Go to this link and watch the dancing girl..
How do you see her dancing?
Clockwise or counter-clockwise?

I see her going both ways right off the bat.
The second I opened the site she was going clockwise then she switched after I read all the info.
What the Heck does that mean?
I was a little floored and I kept watching and I swore she changed directions after a few seconds...
Who knows...
What do you see?

If clockwise, then you use more of the right side of the brain and vice versa.

Most of us would see the dancer turning anti-clockwise though you can try to focus and change the direction; see if you can do it.

Halloween Party Pics 2007

Last night was our annual Halloween Party..
We have missed a few years due to the kiddo so this year was a little weird for us...
We only knew "US"
So, Here we are :)

Tyne & I brought back the 80's!
She was more of the innocent, pretty 80's girl with a side pony, and I was the punk rocker 80's.And, yes my hair was crimped!

Here is my Hubby... the Redneck!
Sporting a mullet and socks with sandals!
What a HOTTIE.. HAHAHAH!

Here is the whole Gang! We have 2 80s girls, a Rocker, a Redneck and a pretty little Bee!

Here are Gavin and I... He was a goof in all the pictures we took so this one was the best!

I can not say that the party was fun... but I can say that I would live thorough that torture again as long I was with the same people!Maybe I am just a geek but besides looking at everyones costumes I didn't really need other people to be there to help me have a good time with my buds!

There were some good ones...
Hulk Hogan, a One Night Stand, 3 bind mice (3 girlfriends), a drunk airline pilot, , a few vampires, a bunch of hookery looking girls, some witches, Dumb & Dumber showed up and also Stewie and Meg Griffin!
It was fun to see all the creativity!
I think in the near future I am going to have to post all the pics of me from previous Halloween year... it would be pretty amusing!

Travis is a performer!

Thursday 13 & Wordless Wednesday are below!

Here are a few new videos of Travis...
This first one is of him telling me what animals say, after I recorded this I realized that you have to listen closely on a few, but he gets them all!
I gotta show him off at least once a day... LOL!

This second video is of hims singing the bye bye song from gym class. I was amazed at this little guy, he grabbed his puppet and handed it to me and sang the song. It took me a second to put the two things together, but in gym class the instructor always ends the class with a story involving a puppet and that song. What a memory this child has!

Oh he makes his Mommy so proud!

Moody Tuesday Blues...

Have you ever had one of those days when you feel like you are playing a game of Chicken with the stop lights as you are driving down the road... You are coming up on the light and you think in your head, "ok light, if you turn yellow now I will stop, or now or now, but if you turn yellow now I am gonna gun it and go through the light as fast as I can." That is how my drive home from the doctor went today. Travis woke up at 245am crying a awful pitiful cry, one that any mom knows you better go check on because with that cry your child is not going back to sleep without a little help! I went into T's room and picked him up and walked him around the house... he does this thing where (even half asleep) he will lay his head on my shoulder and point out of his room, he wants to be walked around. This lovely habit started when he was itty bitty and we had to hold him upright for 30 minutes after a meal because of his reflux. I am not good at sitting still especially at 3am because I could fall asleep sitting straight up and then totally fall over. Holding an infant that would not be a good thing. Anyways, the kiddo likes to be walked around! This is a very rare situation since he hardly ever wakes up in the middle of the night unless its a big deal. So, last night at 3am we were doing laps around the house! Which was fine because in my mind I thought maybe another tooth had popped through and he just needed help to chill out... HA, was I wrong! At 3am there is no way that I was at all thinking normally because if so I would have put 2 and 2 together and remembered that when Trav gets teeth he also gets ear infections! Nice huh? So, in my quest to get the kiddo back to sleep I walked him and laid him down, in 2 minutes he started screaming again... I gave him a few minutes to see if it was just to try and get mom back but it never stopped. So, I went back into his room 3 more times and the last night I thought maybe he was just so congested from the teething (he did have a juicy cough) that I would give him a dose of Benadryl and see what happens. Nothing, not one thing changed! Finally after the 4th screaming fit I brought him into bed with me and he crashed for about 30 minutes... and of course I did not I was to scared I would suffocate him. I am not good at co-sleeping, I sleep to sound and worry to much! Anyways, after the 30 minutes I laid him in his bed.. this time it was 630am, he slept until 715 and woke up with a 101.8 fever... OH NO! EARS I thought... DUH! Why does my brain only work when the sun is out? I called the doc at 8am on the dot when they opened and thankfully they had an appointment this morning for us! T has 2 bad ear infections... and is now on an antibiotic! Man, I hope it works fast! Up until his appointment I was fine, wide awake, I am assuming it was mommy-drenaline. But after his appointment and on our way home it hit. He was asleep in the back and I was practically holding my eye-lids open with toothpicks. Like in the cartoons... I got home, put the little guy in bed and laid down myself and nothing. I could not get settled and could not close my eyes. What a pain!

1 Pumpkin Patch + 1 Neighborhood Party=

A ton of fun stories and GREAT pictures!

My cousin and her 2 boys (4 & 2 1/2) came in yesterday for the weekend... We had a weekend planned of fun things to do, so this morning when Travis woke up with a cold we still went on about our business... so please ignore the snot in all the pics, LOL!
This morning we loaded everyone up and went to this awesome pumpkin patch about 20 minutes from where we live. Then after lunch, naps and snacks we all went to my parents house and went to their neighborhood festival that was at a local farm in their neighborhood...
So today, Travis got to feed and pet cows, horses, longhorns, goats and sheep... He loved it!
He also got head butted by a 6 month old cow, but turned right around and gave him a great big forehead kiss...
Trav and his cousins all had a blast climbing on pumpkins, tractors, and hay... plus going for a hay ride was a great time also! It was the LONNNNNGEST hay ride of my dang life. IKKY!
All the boys followed Gavin around the pumpkin patch on the look out for the best pumpkin ever...
I am unsure if they ever found it but at one point Gavin had a huge stack on multi-sized pumpkins all in his lap.Of course there was some special Gigi & Paps time! All the boys are in love with Gigi and Paps and since Grandparents know the most fun things to do, all the boys got to fish for rocks in the swimming pool! :)
Then baby Picasso painted his daddy a beautiful pumpkin! Look how serious he is about this project! He did a great job too! I was shocked!

The favorite part of my day was seeing Travis' eyes light up when he got to be face to face with these enormous animals! He adores his cousins and had the best time playing with them!
I never thought that it would be so fun to experience things like this when you had a child... the wonder and amazement in their eyes is wonderful!

Bad Blood...

Today I got some ikky information about myself that I did not want to hear...
For the last few years I have been struggling with issues with my cholesterol. I know it is hereditary and that I got my dads bad blood, but I have always felt to young to be dealing with these issues. I was diagnosed with hight triglycerides when I was 24 and controlled them threw my diet and activity levels. Triglycerides are a type of fat found in your blood. They are a major source of energy and the most common type of fat in your body. Right before I found out I was pregnant I got my blood tested again and they were elevated but before I got the info on medication I could take I found out I was pregnant so I could only control them with diet and exercise. Of course when you are pregnant and in your first trimester you do not feel like working out or eating anything at all. Or at least those were my issues!!! After I had Travis and got my blood tested they were still elevated and the doctor wanted me to try and control them myself before getting on a life long medication. Fun stuff, huh?! When we both decided that this was more hereditary then a life style change I got put on the medication. The medication I take now is called Lovaza, it is 4 horse pills that you have to take daily... full of omega -3 acids and whatever else to lower your bad cholesterol and raise the good. It has been about 5-6 months since I have been on this medicine and I have gotten blood work done 2 times since then. The first time showed great results with my numbers almost back to the perfect range and this second time they have gone up a little but not much. This was concerning to my doctor and that is why I got the call today. After all of my gallbladder junk and getting on weight watchers, I have been controlling my fat intake and have lost weight (YAY!) but ww is a very lenient diet. You can pretty much eat whatever you want within the numbers you are given. I guess that is to lenient for me because it was not helping my blood, just my weight. The nurse pretty much read me my rights today... She reminded me that heart disease is a major risk in living life with high triglycerides. She told me that it does not matter if you are 25 or 85 your risk does not increase or decrease. I was like a deer in head lights... I know I have read all of this but I guess deep down I thought I was safe because I was young. I should have been hit in the head with this years ago considering my grandfather on my dads side died of a heart attack and had bad heart disease and that my father has had heart issues as well. Now I feel like I have dug a hole that I am going to have to struggle to get out of! I mean I do work out 5-7 times a week, i thought I was doing great on my diet but now I am re-considering everything I had thought I was doing right. The doc wants me to go on a solid South Beach diet. Have you tried the South Beach diet? I have and it is torturous! The phases do get easier but the first phase is a beating! Click this link to read about it... South Beach Diet Info.. The problem with this diet is that there is a ton of planning involved! I unfortunately and not a planner, not with food at least. Never have been and don't know if I can be. Can you teach a old dog new tricks? HA! My hubby found out that our insurance will cover a dietitian/nutritionist and so that is my next step. I just need a kick in the right direction! I wonder if they would cover a personal chef also? Do you find it unfair that the super wealthy can hire someone to feed them the correct things and they do not have to even think about it. I hate those people! I am now feeling pretty angry at myself. I mean I have a child that needs me for the rest of his life and I am at a high risk for heart disease... What the hell am I thinking? I should have nipped this a long time ago. Now it seems so hard to do. Being a mom it has become harder to think about myself, i focus mainly on the health and well-being of my son and have let myself get lost in the mix. Please pray for me... I need all the help I can get! I am going to be posting all about this on my Inner Health Nutt blog. Please come check it out and share your stories or be cheerleaders for mine! I am going to post this over there also... and blog about my progress and thing I learn at becoming heart healthy!

Piss Cat Strikes Again!

I am just about sick of this damn cat... ARGH!
For those of you who do not know about the piss cat issues I will give you a little background info.
My male cat.. Stanley, has a behavioral problem with peeing on clothes! Not all clothes, mine and Gavin's stuff! Travis' stuff can be chillin' on the floor, friends things and nothing. Anytime we have anything that smells like Gavin or I close to the floor that little sh*t will pee on it!
When it started and I found the FOUL smelling towel on the floor I immediately called the vet and had him checked out thinking it was a urinary track infection. He was on meds for 2 weeks and it got better. A month went by and I picked up some workout clothes that I had just folded and put on the counter and they smelled like pee, and let me tell yah it is the nastiest smelling stuff in the entire world! I could not get it out of my nose all darn day! ok, so back to the vet we went, this time he had a clean bill of health. WHAT! The cat was acting out for some reason. At this point Travis is over a year old so there was no way it was because of adding a new person in the family.
It has happened again and again and now after an antibiotic, an antidepressant, a pheromones plug in thingy by the litter box, new expensive litter, odor free liter, odor-full liter, hard litter, sandy litter... argh... he is still PEEING ON OUR STUFF!

I have no idea what to do anymore!
I have thrown away over $100 worth of clothes and towels, not to mention the vet bills and medicine bills!!! I mean who spends $25 per month on anti-depressants for their cat? And I do not think he ever really got the full dose in his system because he would cough it all up!

I do wash all of our clothes and towels in special detergent and even when it smells clear of cat pee when it is dried once it gets wet again you can smell the ammonia smell.

WHAT DO I DO???
and yes, I have cried about it!

Ready...
Aim...
Fire...
!!!RUN!!!
... and they all made it inside, but me!
(not like I would leave my babe out side alone)
I hope he doesnt remember this trick!

thursday 13

13 things that get procrastinated when you are a Momma!

1. Purging all the clothes you swear you will fit into again after you had your baby, then reality hits and you realize that even if you get back down to that size your body is totally shaped differently and then you really deserve to go buy new stuff anyways!!

2. Hair Issues...Waiting until your roots are 2 1/2 inches grown out before making an appointment with your hair stylist.

3. Pedicures... What are those?

4. Washing your car, yep... I am so guilty of this! I will have spilled juice, toys and cheerios every where before I decide to think about cleaning it up!

5. Eating, Since Travis has been born I always wait to eat. Feed him first and then have to get him settled... then I am starving and pig out when I eat. Sheesh, thats why it has taken so long for me to loose this last 5 baby pounds!

6. Showering, what... showering? Oh yeah, some nights after you get the short ones to bed you are pooped and forgo a shower for an extra 30 minutes of sleep.. Same thing in the morning, Travis is my alarm so there is no getting up early to shower. I would rather get sleep and be stinky. LOL

7. Date Nights... you mean you can actually go on a date when you are a parent? HA!

8. Makeup... funny one huh? Yea sometimes in the race to get the kiddo and yourself ready you forget to put on your face. That is why I carry back up in my purse! Yeah, I am one of those women who puts there makeup on in the parking lot before getting out of their car!

9. Grocery Shopping, wooohooo... what a task with a kid. I wait until the last minute or when I have one drop of milk left before I brave the storm of shopping with a toddler!

10. Reading Magazines... I have a few awesome magazines I get every month and they just pile up next to my bed. One day I will have to have a marathon magazine reading!

11. Peeing... I still think this is a crazy issue I have, but to justify it, my friend say they do the same thing! I forget to pee. I will get mixed up with Blues Clues, snacks, blocks ect... and forget I have to pee! Then I am flying to a toilet as fast as I can... maybe I need to borrow some of Trav's diapers. HAHAHA!

12. Phone calls... I loose my brain. MOMNESIA as I love to call it and totally forget to call people back! I will usually remember 2 or 3 times but just not call. Whats up with that? Will this ever go away?!

13. Chores... oh yes, this is the last thing on my list of stuff to get done in an orderly manner!
I will find anything to do in order to not have to take the trash out (Gav's job) or do dishes!~

Trouble in playground paradise!

Today Travis and I went to strollerfit and to My Gym, our normal Tuesday routine!
I was super discouraged by the behavior of the main instructor...

You know moms come in all shapes and sizes... some are blessed with the ability to walk out of the hospital with there size 2 jeans on and others live in their maternity clothes for a few more months (ME!)

The reason I am writing this is becaue I have noticed a SH*TTY trend with our My Gym main instructor... he flirts and gives all his attention to the "hot mommas".
Ok, well you ask my hubby and I am one of those too but I am not a size -2 and I do not have enormous fake boobs and 90% of the time I am out with my kiddo I don't really give a crap about that I look like! I am a mom first and foremost, but I do not believe this should limit me from the attention I receive or my sons receives at a damn gymnastics class.

Today he sat on the floor for over 30 minutes of our 50 minute gym class talking to these 2 moms and only playing with their children while ignoring any other child that came near him.
He would start and exercise and be so distracted by these 2 women that he would be half ass in his instructions and when he would aid the kiddos in this task.

He remained engaged in a conversation with them when he was totally suppose to be teaching, and left the main part of the class up to the young girl that was suppose to be an aid with the children.

This behavior really rubbed me the wrong way!

I guess most of the reason it did was because Travis and I had invited Gig (my mom) to join us Saturday morning at the gym class... Travis did get to show off his extreme trampoline jumping ability and how great he is at climbing EVERYTHING... but the class was lead by 3 girls... NOT old enough I feel to be in charge of a gymnastics class form children under 2 years old. Understanding that the parent is right there 100% of the time, but they are suppose to aid in tasks and exercises and did a really awful job at that. I was embarrassed for have begged my mom to join us and then all that took place... Travis even was annoyed because half way through the class he was at the door saying bye bye and so we left.

Then I took him today and the instructor acted like a college age tool bag that was more interested in getting the chick them doing his job!
ARGH!

Those women seemed to be thrilled with the attention they were getting and their children as well but I guarantee that if they were another parent (like me) in this situation they would be pissed too!
I am not complaining because I want the attention of this man, but I want my child and the other children whose parents are paying for this class to get the attention they deserve.

The reason why I am having an issue writing this company off and going somewhere else is because it is such a good deal and the little girls that are the aids love my son and he loves them.
It is not often when Travis will just randomly go up to someone and demand their attention.
He even loves the main instructor, he went right up and sat in his lap today during the warm up.

Travis is 19 months old, do you think that is too young for him to get the skill anyways?
Should I just be considering this a play time opportunity or should I expect more?

I am so confused at what to do!
I love that Travis gets to enjoy playing with all the fun equipment and play with his friend... even if he is not learning anything. But I always told myself that I would not just spend money to have him play when we can do that on our own...

Hair Again...

I have been trying to get a good picture of short mans hair... Here is one from the side so you can kinda see the style! Here he is from the front.
... and of course I had to spike it and just get a few pictures for fun...
How cute is he?!?

I think I am starting to like it... or maybe it is growing on me. He just looks so much older and I hate that! I want him to stay little forever!

There are also a few pictures of Trav and I on the left sidebar!
You can see his hair there too!

Travis' First Haircut...

Well it finally happened.... I decided to get Travis a professional haircut!
I have never been one to really love long hair on boys... the chili bowl cut is cute but when their hair is thin and long I think it look silly... that is where Trav's hair was!
His hair has been tickling his ears and irritating him so much lately that I just could not stand it any longer, so after gym class this morning my mom and I went to Toys R Us and got his hair cut at the little place in there. It was simple... he sat in the little red firetruck...

...started playing with the stirring wheel and watching Cars on the little TV.Then the hair cutter lady snap on his little blue rope thingy and got started...
He was not the biggest fan of having anything around his neck... but after 1 time of ripping it off he did great! She started with the razor and he thought it was so cool... it tickled the back of his neck and thankfully he did not move to mush during this part...He was actually looking a bit relaxed for a while...
Gigi and I were just watching and praying that it was not going to be too short.
At one point he did flip out and wanted to get out of the truck... but he would chill pretty fast and let her finish what she was doing!I did nothave my big camera with me so I was taking pics with my camera phone... not too bad huh?
This is the last one I got because he started going bonkers after this picture.. he was DONE!

She did trim it up a little more then I would have wanted... and yes I teared up a few times afterwards.
