thursday 13

Thirteen things that give away that you are a parent...

1. You rock when you are standing in line alone.
2. When you are excusing yourself to go to the bathroom you refer to it as "potty"
3. You give another mom or dad dealing with a fussy child a "I feel your pain" grin as you pass.
4. Stomachs are called Belly's
5. You catch yourself humming the theme song to your child's favorite cartoon.
(In our case Blues Clues)
6. You dance in the front seat not caring about other drivers staring because your child is fully entertained!
7. STAINS, STAINS and more STAINS!
8. You read the kids menu first.
9. There is always a wipe close by for emergencies.
10. You crave snacks during the day.
11. You can carry 100 things in your arms and still be able to answer a phone, unlock your car and open a door..
12. You don't mind going in public with no makeup on or your hair pulled up .
13. Pulling out your wallet and a diaper, wipe, bag of snacks, pasi or night night fall out!

If you have more PLEASE share! This was a fun one for me!

Terrific Tuesday!

What a great day Trav and I have had today!
We went to strollerfit (as normal) and a friend of mine in class had mentioned My Gym to me last week... Today was the first Tuesday class of the new semester thingy and since your first day is free Travis and I ( and a few other friends) went to the class with her.
It was wonderful!
Travis walked right in like he had been there a hundred times before and immediately fell head over heels in love with the place!
The instructor is wonderful, a very loving, friendly man that Travis and the other kids took too right off the bat .
I am soooo very excited about this class, Travis gets to have free play and go wild!
Just what a toddler needs, right?!

I am sooo excited! To top it off Trav has taken an almost 3 hour nap today !
YAY! GO MY GYM!

My Little Mess!

There is a special day coming up this week...
On Saturday my little man will me 18 months old.
I can not believe that I have a child that is a year and a half old!
He is growing up so fast! It is unreal to me all the changes he makes daily!

His newest favorite thing is to brush his teeth and spit in the sink.

Weekend Update!

What a weekend...

I think having that big of an event on a Friday made my brain off for the rest of the weekend.. I thought yesterday was Sunday and this morning I almost asked Gavin why he was not getting ready for work.

Friday Night went off with a bang... I had 20+ Strollerfit woman over for Wine Tasting, good food and games. We all had a BLAST! I did take some pictures but they did not turn out very clear, so I didn't want to post any of them...
I forgot how much fun board games were...
We played Taboo, Apples to Apple and Cranium. SO FUN!
Apples to Apples is a GREAT game if you have not heard of it or played it.. I would highly recommend it!

Saturday Morning I woke up a little too soon I think! Gavin went and got Travis from my moms house while I cleaned the remainder of the night before. Travis had a blast spending the night with Paps and Gigi, he always comes home pretty spoiled rotten! Thats what grandparents are for though, right?! We all went to bed really early Saturday night, it was GREAT!

Sunday morning (this morning) we all got up and headed to breakfast at the Original Pancake House... YUMMMMY! I still ate pretty healthy for my WW diet, Buckwheat Pancakes and a veggie omelet (that was as big as my head!) Travis really LOVED his itty bitty pancakes with syrup, the 2nd time he has had syrup and let me tell yah, he was a mess the rest of the morning!

Today we all hung out outside while Gavin did some yard stuff, and hung the misters for the back patio. Did you know that misters are suppose to cool you down up to 20 degrees... WOW!
Travis LOVES going from his pool to the water table to the slide to the pool ect... BUSY boy!

I have felt pretty good this weekend, Still not 100% but better then then I have! Man, I am hoping this all goes away!

Hope you all had a great weekend!!!!!

Health News

Finally I heard something new from the doc's office this morning...
Since I have been on Weight Watchers ans a low fat diet the Doctor thinks that has helped with the tummy cramps I was having . Yes, they have gone down but not 100% away. He also wants me to continue on this diet and try this medicine he is prescribing for a week and see what happens...
Thats fine, even though I like a quick fix (not by surgery though!). He is covering all the common things first before more testing is done. I do feel like i have been totally blown off this week, but I guess that is what happens when Doctors start their own practice and take on more then they can chew! But, at this point I am willing to try anything! As long as surgery is in the far off distance I am a-ok!

Thursday Thirteen

13 things that people do that drive me nutty!
This topic brought to mind because I still have NOT heard back from my dang Dr.!

1. People who do not use there blinkers.
2. People who humm while they eat .
3. People who stand at the soda fountain and tap and look and tap and look for 5 minutes to fill up their cup with soda. (You know what I am talking about!)
4. People who bite their fork when they eat.
5. People who chew ice cream.. IKKY! Make my teeth hurt!
6. People who talk with their mouths full.... NO THANKS!
7. People who get in the Right turn lane and do not turn until the light is green when the sign even says Right On Red.
8. People who are one-uppers... you have a great story, but HEY they can top that!
9. People who gulp the first sip of a beer (MY HUBBY!)
10. People who respond to a question with a question.... huh? What?
11. Constant sniffers...
12. Nail Tappers.
13. Doctors that do not call back when you leave messages about MAJOR test results! SHEESH!

And now we wait...

I had my sonogram this morning and still have not heard from the doc... FRUSTRATING!

I had to go to an outpatient imaging place to get my test done, since my doc is has a private practice he does not have all the huge equipment like a sono machine so he send his patients to one of those places. They do your test, send it to a radiologist to view then the results go to your doctor.
So, now I am waiting to hear the results from my doc... hopefully by tomorrow.

All the tech told me was that she did not see any gall-stones! YAY!

***

On another topic... I have had a few ?'s about the pee cat!
He is now on anti-depressants!
The vet said he was high strung and thinks that is the reason he pees on stuff so the anti-depressant will mellow him out and hopefully keep him from being a destructor pee cat!
He tested negative for all the usually illnesses that would make a cat pee on things so they said it was a behavioral problem...
Now we have to give him meds everyday to chill him out... SO FUN!

Toddler + Cat Carrier=

Pure Entertainment!
This is Trav helping me with the carrier before leaving for the vets office.

My male cat is still peeing on EVERYTHING and making me absolutely go insane.. After he got my $50 leather purse I decided he must go or I was.. kidding! So , we had an appointment with our old vet this afternoon... The office we use to take Sasha too when she was a pup, they added a few new Vets to their practice and we got one! After a 30 minute drive it was well worth the sweet face! Travis was really upset the entire drive because Stan was screaming and meowing for the entire trip... Now, Trav really knows how to meow like a cat! LOL!
Anyways, the vet takes Stanley out of his carrier and started checking him out, and then let him roam around the room, Travis was dying to get to the cat so I let him down to chase Stan. Stanley ran into his carrier so Travis crawled into his carrier it was cute for a second until Trav started wailing. I bent down to see if he was stuck and of course he was totally stuck and Stanley was flipping out and poor cat could not run from the situation because he was shoved in the back of the carrier.. A cats worst nightmare, stuck in a carrier with a toddler! The Vet and I both were on our hands and knees attempting to tear open the carrier and it was stuck on the front latch OF COURSE! Trav was still flipping out and finally I was able to grab him when the door opened and a Vet Tech walked in and said... " just making sure I didn't accidentally walk into a pediatricians office" My kid has a great set of lungs! Nice! So, we got all fixed up, the cat back in his carrier... the diaper bag, the prescription and left WITHOUT PAYING! Where was my head.. oh yeah, it was in the carrier with my kid and the cat!

There is NEVER a dull moment with this kid!

Travis again got in the carrier when we got home...
I HAD to take pictures of this crazy kid!

Prayers Needed...

This week I have been a bit under the weather...
Besides the fact that my hubby has been gone (he will be back tonight, YAY!) I have had horrible tummy issues... cramping from my hip bones to rib cage, what felt like gas pains (but wasn't) soreness and just pressure... and then my right shoulder has felt out of socket for 2 weeks... STRANGE! I finally pulled it together and went to the Dr. this morning... He felt all over my stomach and then pressed this place and almost immediately brought me to tears. He then asked if my shoulder had been hurting (right one) and it had... freaked me out that he knew that. He then told me that I must be having Gallbladder issues and that depending on the results from a sonogram that I will have next Tuesday surgery may be in my near future. He said that he thinks I will have to have surgery just from the pain I described to him and the pain in my shoulder.
I am ok with the surgery, it is an easy surgery and laparoscopic so I will not be that invasive... at the most I will have to be in the hospital 2 nights, but 1 night is the normal situation. The part that flips me out is the getting put under... I HATE HATE HATE being put under!
I have not gotten too worked up about it, I am trying to stay chill until I hear the results.
I am though still feeling like poop and have a prescription I need to pick up that should help with the stomach cramps and soreness.
My dad will be in this weekend so I will have some extra help with Travis... hopefully these meds will help me feel a bit more normal and at least able to walk straight up!
I will keep you all posted!

Middle Name Meme!
It's another tag!! Lori Tagged me.... this is a new one!

Here are the rules:

1. You have to post these rules before you give the facts.

2. Players, you must list one fact that is somehow relevant to your life for each letter of their middle name. If you don’t have a middle name, use the middle name you would have liked to have had.

3. At the end of your blog-post, you need to choose one person for each letter of your middle name to tag.

N-is for Neat-o.. one of my most favorite words! I love things that make me stop and think!
I- is for Imagination! Well, I think I have a pretty good one of these! I think most artsy people do! I would love to go back in time to see Palbo Picasso as a child and see what his imagination was like... did he have an imaginary friend? Did he make up games? I bet he was FUN!
C- is for Creative! When anyone asks me what one thing I love about myself... I always answer with my Creativity!
I LOVE being artistic, not only for the ability to say I love being creative, but I love the feeling people get when I make them something that is truly them and I love the feeling of accomplishment I get when I have a job "well done"!
O- is for Ornery... Yes, i am totally stuck in my ways on certain things and when something is not right I get a bit cranky about it! I am NOT a morning person... so this personality trait does come out when I am messed with in the mornings!
L-is for Laughter! I LOVE to laugh...
I think laughter can cheer up your day, give you the best feeling, make your cheeks hurt and give you a great ab workout all at the same time!
E-is for Entertaining... Well, I would only sometimes consider myself entertaining!
The reason I picked this is because I LOVE to entertain! I LOVE hosting parties, showers, events! I do not necessarily need to be in charge, just given the opportunity to be creative. I love having people over for themed events... and I LOVE costume parties!

I tag...
Anyone who feels like doing a NEW meme!
Just leave a comment that says you did it and we will all check you out!

I'm Home!!!

Vegas was fun... different but fun!
It seems to be all about BOOBS, MONEY, and FOOD!

We stayed at the Hilton Grand Vacation Suites on the end of the strip! BEAUTIFUL PLACE!
It was a good thing too because there is NOT a casino in that hotel so we did not loose as much money as we possibly could have...

It was only 115 degress of pure oven hotness!
The heat is so different there then it is in Texas, I am for sure that I am NOT a big fan of the dry heat at all... especially when it melts your flip flops!

Gavin and I won some and lost some playing Texas Hold'em, Black Jack and some video poker games. We saw some CRAZY people and I swear if you like people watching that is where you need to go! We went and looked around a few different hotels and casinos but not as many as I would have liked to see... but in 2 days we did a ton!

My favorite thing was going to the Cirque du Soleil show Love. It was set to Beatles music and let me tell you, it blew me away! I did not want to blink! I would recommend that show to anyone and see it a hundreds times over if I could!

We ate some awesome food, took MANY cab rides (it was toooo hot to walk!) and drank a ton of free drinks! The perks of gambling... you get free drinks! But I tell yah, loosing $20 sure makes that one expensive beer! HA! it is so fun to talk to the cab drivers... they all have their opinion on Lady Luck and when and where she will pick you up!

The flight coming home was a little scary at first! Flying out of the Valley, it was bumpy and shifty and I was about to grab the guys hand next to me... but he was a dud! He would not even talk to me... BLAH! I was in first class.... it ROCKED! I have never sat in first class before, I am a HUGE fan! But still, the turbulence leaving was a bit much for me! I thought I was going to be sick :(

Over all.... I LOVED hanging with my hubby but I could live the rest of my life HAPPILY if I never go back. The heat, the boobs and the drunk gamblers are all just a little too much for me.

It may have been a bit better if we could have actually been able to walk around outside without having a heat stroke... so maybe one day I will try and go back when it is cooler... but as of now. I got my fair taste of Vegas.

I did want to re-new our vows with Elvis, but you know I did not even see a wedding chapel or an Elvis. Crazy huh?

I am so glad to be home, I missed my baby! Travis did a GREAT job staying with his grandparents!
He was a busy little dude and enjoyed being with Paps and Gigi.
They spoiled him, but thats is what grandparents do, right?

He was so loving and huggy on me all day, he missed his momma!
I have LOVED all the LOVIN' I have gotten!
The second star is where our hotel was!

Terrible 1's???

Warning...
Mommy B*tch*ng Ahead!

What a few day s I have had...
My little guy has been in RARE form lately! He has thrown fits, screams over silly things, refuses to sit in a grocery cart or stroller and is just fussy over everything!
Yes, I know kids have bad days too.... HA, but these seem worse then bad (is that possible?)
It all started last Friday when Trav and I went to strollerfit he got in his stroller fine and seemed to be occupied with cheerios, goldfish and a magnadoodle and then all HELL broke out! He started whining... I went up to him and asked him what was wrong, he pointed at his juice so I handed it to him and it then went flying across the line of babies. Let me give you an idea of what happens at strollerfit when we first get there... All the moms walk in with their strollers and babies (of course) and sign in. Then we all line up, babies facing us and mommies facing the instructor. So, when Travis heeves his juice, food, toy or whatever he is able to throw it usually hits a mommy, baby or stroller. I think the main word I said on Friday was "sorry" to whose ever leg, kid or stroller was pelted with something from Travis' hand. Not a great way to start a workout!!!! Then he started screaming and bucking like a mad man... so I pulled my stroller out of the line and walked him for a minute to see if maybe he just did not want to sit still. I WISH! He got worse, he wanted to be held, he wanted his night-night, he wanted something, and that something was not the stroller! I finally gave in and picked him up, he laid his head on my shoulder and loved on me for a second and then started the wonderful toddler "stiff as a board" move. He slid all the way down me onto the floor and took off. FUN! Don't you love kids that can run and weave and spin all in one swift movement? LOVELY! When all this was happening the strollerfit group was passing me on the move to start the main workout. I waved good-bye to them all and we headed out. The rest of the day seemed just as dramatic... any "No" he heard was the END OF THE WORLD! Then Saturday and Sunday... Daddy got a taste of the crazy toddler! He just seemed on the verge at all times. Then Sunday afternoon he got so worked up over NOT being able to play in the toilet. He was so mad at me that he would not let me hold him or help chill him out. Finally after 5 minutes of a red-faced screaming baby, I picked him up, fought his wiggles and put him in the car. That always seems to chill him out! We drove around for a bit and he was all better, then we went home ate lunch and he played calmly in the pool outside. Then today, same same at strollerfit... but today I lasted 30 minutes with a screaming baby. The worst part was there were 6 new moms visiting the class... I am sure they thought I was EVIL for letting him scream and yell. I just really thought he would chill once he saw that I was getting my way and he was not getting his. YEAH RIGHT! I finally had to get him out of his stroller and carry him out to the car. He as so pleasant and great in the car and then we got home and he was just as sensitive as before. Hearing the word "NO" was like the end of the world. I just wanted him to NOT freak out over little things... HAHAHAAA! After his nap I thought we would attempt Target, we needed diapers and juice and a few other things. What was I thinking? I should have just turned around and got back in the car after the fit he threw when we were attempting to get buckled in the cart. But NO, I am glutton for punishment! He did good for about 5 minutes, since I had loaded his lap with all the toys I could... Yes, I am one of those moms that lets my kid play with the toys in the store then I stash them in a random shelf before we check out. Though I will buy them if he starts ripping the box or eating them. I would never put his spit back on the shelf for another mom to buy! But thankfully I have cat like reflexes (HAHA) and can get my hand between the gnawing gums and toy in milliseconds! Then ALL Hell broke loose! He started screaming across the store because he saw a banana near the check out line... NANA! NANA! ARGH! HELP! ANYONE WANT A TODDLER? I kinda distracted him and he went ballistic! I finally had to pick him up out of the grocery cart and he did the "stiff as a board" toddler slide again! FUN, though it was right in the diaper aisle, an area of the store that you know you will only see other parents! Then he started knocking diapers off the shelf... like 10 boxes at a time! THANKS SON! The rest of the shopping experience consisted of Trav on my hip knocking things off shelves! GREATNESS.... and I swear every time he was naughty the same damn person would be on the aisle with me! They probably thought I was raising a hellion! We got loaded up and home about 445 this afternoon and I was begging my hubby to get home and take the crazy kid away from me! Yeah, he is soooo good for Daddy! WHAT IS THAT ABOUT? He is down now! I have had a beer and I think writing this is going to help!
I do LOVE my child more then anything in this world... he is the LOVE of my life! But DANG, whats up with the attitude? I have been praying for days that this is a phase and will stop SOONER then later! Yes, I still have my hair! I did not pull it all out YET!
I have to say THANK YOU to Victoria, Tyne, My Mommy and sweet Hubby!
If it weren't for y'all reminding me of the Mommy mantra "this too shall pass" I may be in a mommy crazed coma right now!
I am currently praying for a miracle in the toddler department for tomorrow!

Travis is growing up...

Travis turned 17 months old yesterday!
Sorry I am a day late on my post.. we have been so super busy this week!

What he is doing:

He is such a big man, learning new things and surprising us every second!
He has a HUGE vocabulary.... (plus one bad word)
Mommy's favorite words he says are: Diaper, Bubble, Shoe and Sasha
He tries to say anything you ask him to and some times he gets them right and sometimes it sounds so funny!
He runs EVERYWHERE and even tries to march occasionally if you do it with him...
Loves playing basketball and baseball, in fact he loves any kind of ball possible!
The lady at Toys R Us had to scan Travis because he would not let go of the BIG BOY size basketball he HAD to have!
I bought him a little goal and ball tee and he is a pro already!
Our biggest accomplishment recently is eating with a spoon and fork but we are still working on NOT throwing food (any advice?)!

Travis' Stats:
He is right at 28lbs and 34" tall
He has 11 teeth
(4 of them are his 1 year molars)

Here are a few pictures and a video for yah!
