About my baby & Thursday (13)

This afternoon, after a long day with my kiddo... Travis and I bundled up with a bottle and very cozy blanket in his rocking chair for what I was hoping was a good little nap to HOPEFULLY reboot his little system! OH my goodness, I totally just compared my child to a computer! HA!
Anyways, we sang songs and I told him all about what I wanted to do for his birthday and it hit me... my baby is going to be 11 months old tomorrow.

ELEVEN MONTHS OLD!
That is 1 month away from being a real digit....
1 years old!
WOW!

MY baby... he is gonna be called a toddler in 4 weeks.
So, he finished his bottle and turned over and crawled up and put his head on my shoulder, he reached his little arm around my neck and started rubbing my cheek. I started to tear up... I held him tight , leaned the rocker as far back as I could, put my feet on the foot rest and rested my head on his head and dozed off for a few minutes.
I hope that never goes away!
When I stopped dozing I started thinking of all the stuff I need to do for Travis first b-day so i decided to make that my Thursday 13!What all I need to do to get ready for
my little man's first birthday!
1. Get on the ball with the birthday invites, i have them made I just need to order them and send them out.
2. Make a guest list.... Maybe I should do that before ordering the cards, hummm!!!
3. Figure out what food we will have here for everyone to munch on.
4. Decided if we really want to get a margarita machine for the grownups.
5. Make a video of his first year to play while everyone is hanging out.
(tradition with our group of friends!)
6. Finish his birthday wish list.
7. Cake or Cupcakes?
8. Decorations... My favorite part when throwing a party!
9. Time to go shopping for presents!
10. Schedule his 1 yr birthday picture.
11. Decide on games for the older kids and entertainment for the younger ones.
12. Pray for nice weather!
13. HAVE The best time we can... there is only one time in our lives that our first child turns 1!

quick trip

I was sitting here designing a blog and realized that I have neglected mine... how sad!

I have had a very long couple of days.... some moments good and bad!
I woke up yesterday and realized that my child had slept till almost 8 am... WOW! that is a first. I went to check my phone because I was suppose to go try this new church with Lacy and I noticed a text message from my dad.... it said " I was wandering if you could pick me up at the airport at noon." UMMM WHAT!?! I was not really prepared for company and I flipped.... canceled going to church which really upset me and hurried to get some laundry done and go grocery shopping. Wow, it was a whirl wind. I got to the airport at 1150 about 10 minutes before they (he and my step mom) were due to land and had a few minutes to chat with a girlfriend and arrange my Cd's in my car. I was a little overwhelmed with the lack of notice but was so excited to be here when my dad saw his grandson for the 2ND time (first when he was born). Travis took to my dad so well... it was awesome to see, I think he knew that my dad was someone special. Then this evening my step mom got to come see Travis for the very first time! He fell in love with her, she is loud and FUN! Even though he was super exhausted and wanting to go to bed he stayed up and played for a while and was all about showing off some of his favorite things! I am so glad that my dad and step mom got to spend a little time with my little guy! It was a fast trip but well worth the time and effort!
** side note, I HATE this new blogger crap! I tried not to sign up for it but it wouldn't let me not do so... I can not get it to work in Internet Explorer and in order to use it at all it has to be in Fire Fox... any one have this issue? answers? It is slow and annoying! WHATS THE DEAL???

Meeting Mrs. Sassafrass!

Have you ever wanted to meet a bloggy friend? I have but no one really lives to close to me, so the opportunity has not come up... till today! Nicole from All That Sassafrass lives about 3 hours away from me and was coming in town to pick up a jogging stroller she had won on Ebay. We have become great friends online and chat as much as possible and decided that we should meet to have lunch... I was not nervous at all, actually pretty excited to meet her! You know when you read about someones life on a daily basis you feel like you really know that person. I felt like I have known Nicole for ages... and then today we met. It was so great, I was not uncomfy, It was like seeing a friend that I haven't seen in a while. She brought a friend of hers named Cindy who was just as sweet as she could be. We all had a great time, talking for hours! Before I knew it I had to get home to relieve Gavin of baby duty.
Nicole was so fun and beautiful!
I am so glad we met and hope we stay close friends from now on.

Last night my wonderful mom came over and watched Travis so Gavin and i could go join some friends for dinner and a Beerman gig! It was so fun to see everyone and hang out... plus it was Brandi's birthday!!!

Today was a great day so far, Travis actually slept ok last night... OK not great, he woke up one time thirsty because he didn't drink his bottle before he went to bed. He slept in till 730 and was a happy man when he got up! GREAT STUFF! We went and worked out and had a great workout and I am already sore (LOVE that feeling!)

A Baby Thing

When we got back in the car I had missed a call from one of my best girlfriends in the entire world, Jennifer! She is 18 weeks pregnant and found out today that she is having a little girl! I am so excited for her and her hubby, Joe! They are going to be wonderful parents! YAY!

(happened last night when I read about those 2 kiddos that were kidnapped and found... woo, what a story!)

5. I have a hard tome saying "NO" to anyone. That is something I am working on, but I guess I am just a people pleaser. It is hard to change something like that about yourself!

Oh, teething takes away everyone's sleep!

It has been pretty eventful and LOUD in our house the past few days. Travis is getting his top teeth and is letting the entire neighborhood know that he isn't liking it to much! Gavin and I have been alternating shifts with the little guy since he is up at all hour with a runny nose and pain. They say that adults would not be able to handle it... and I am not surprised, I cant stand it when I bite my cheek or tongue and that is nothing compared to teeth coming through your gums. We have been trying to keep him comfy without constantly shoving medicine down his throat. The hardest thing is the runny nose because the constant snot wiping is just frustrating him so bad... and forget the booger sucker because he turns into the Hulk and will take you OUT if you get that thing near his face! With his teething experience he is loving to chew on anything metal and cold... spoons are a big hit! I still believe in my pickle remedy!!!I think they do help with the swollen sore gums because of the salt and vinegar, Travis seems to really enjoy gnawing on them especially when nothing else is making him feel better. Anyone have any other helpful hints? We could sure use them about now!!!!

Yesterday I was changing Trav's diaper and clothes on the play room couch and the second I take his wet diaper off he gets up and starts jumping on the couch. I figured I would give him a second to play before I wrestled him down to put his clean diaper on... hahahahaaa a second was long enough, he started laughing and I knew he was about to pee and what do yah know, he left his first pee stain on the couch!

The great thing is, he seemed so proud of himself that he peed without his diaper on!

What a little dude!

13 things that my son does that crack me up

(some with videos & pictures)

1. Always nods his head no to any question you ask him... he is 10 1/2 months old, he does not know what that means (or does he?)

2. The second he wakes up in his crib he immediately gets up and jumps like a kangaroo in his bed, holding onto the side of course. But Man, he gets HIGH!

3. Rips every book off the bookshelf and laughs hysterically while doing it.

4. Waits till his diaper is totally off and flips over and crawls faster then lightening to get away... (if we are on the floor)

5. Crinkles his nose up when he thinks he is being funny ( I think he looks like he is saying ARG like a pirate, when he crinkles his little nose).

6. Thinks anything being on his head is the funniest thing ever!

7. When he drinks from a straw he has to stop every few seconds and catch his breath... It just looks to darn cute to see a little guy drinking from a straw.

8. Flips the straw in his sippy cup because he has learned that it sprays juice everywhere... and the second you give him a reaction he will belly laugh.

9. He like to mimic your laugh, and will start laughing and be unable to stop. Watch HERE

10. Rips the HELL out of any paper you give him... like he is so angry at it. Watch HERE

11. If he wants to take a toy with him somewhere he will put it in his mouth so he can crawl with both hands, he looks like a puppy dog carrying a bone.

12. He can be so busy playing and if you hand him his night night blanket he will totally drop whatever he is doing, stick his finger in his mouth, rub the blanket on his nose, then throw it to the side and then continue on playing.

13. Whenever I smile or laugh he does too.. I have never seen a baby laugh as much as he does!

I got a secret...

About a month and a half ago I got acupuncture in my ear... the ear stapling for stress and weight loss. I posted about it on my Workin' Out Blog... and didn't mention it here because I know some of my readers would think I am nutty! Anyways, I lost about 12 lbs with them and have been pretty chill for the most part! Here is where the bad stuff comes in, a couple of days ago Travis and I were playing and he scratched the inside of my left ear where the staple is. OUCH! I didn't think twice about it and went on with daily life and then a day goes by and it starts hurting.. I started cleaning it with alcohol and neosporin and thought it would be ok in a day or so... WRONG! I am working on my 3rd day of pure pain! I called my acupuncturist on Saturday and she called back yesterday morning and had me come to her house and get the staple removed. She gave me these weird herbs to put on my ear (that stung like crazy!) and sent me on my way... I was a little nervous afterwards and called my family Dr. after hours number and he called me in an antibiotic because I really can NOT remember the last time I had a tetanus shot (KINDA FREAKS ME OUT!) So, here I am in horrible pain, have not slept in 2 days because the pain is worse when I lay down, waiting for my 1pm dr's appointment, but I am 12 lbs lighter. Man, the things we do to loose weight and feel better!
Ha, I guess I learned my lesson!

70 yesterday, Freezing today

Only in Texas can you go from wearing short sleeves and flip flops one day to ice covering your trees the next!

Yesterday it was so humid outside that I could not seem to cool off... I think it topped off at 69 here in North Texas. Then last night it dropped 20 degrees in 20 minutes the weather people were going CRAZY!

Is it like that in other states? When we get freezing rain, ice snow here in Texas it is like the state freaks out.... People even forget how to drive!

My NEW workout Venture!

Those of you that have been reading about me for a while have know of my many ventures to loose weight and be healthy.... From taebo, boot camp, curves, and my new deal is Stroller Fit!!!! It is at the local mall here (also known and the stay-at-home-mall mall) and started at 9 am... I have to say that is 100 times better then the 530 for boot camp! I was the only new person today and because I am not shy at all I did pretty good introducing myself to everyone. A friend of mine asked if I was nervous about this class because it is all women and has the potential to be "clicky" (where the women aren't warm and fuzzy to new people) different then boot camp where there were men and curves where you never see the dame person twice... I felt a bit of that, but its ok, I am not affected by that at all... It is there loss if they don't wanna meet me! I did meet a couple really awesome moms that were very open and kind, one who actually lives walking distance from me! I got a great workout, I was sweating and at one point breathing really hard.. LOVE IT (that tells me I am really working out!) Travis did GREAT, loved seeing mommy running and acting silly with lounges and squats. We sang numerous songs to keep count of our reps and the kiddos would all grunt and babble as if they were telling us 'good job" and of course my child was the loudest and at one point he laughed out loud at me... HAHAHAHAA, the mom next to me got a big kick out of him! At the end of the class I won a workout ball set from a raffle (because today was the open house) I was so excited.. I never win anything! I signed up after it all and am so excited to go again.. the next class is Friday, she does Monday-Wednesday, Friday, Saturday. The best part of this is that Travis is able to join in and be part of it so I never have to worry about finding a babysitter! Out with Some friends!

Saturday night we went out with some friends and ended up at Razzoos for one (2 actually) of there special HUGE mixed drinks... Gator Punch in a fish bowl!
There were 6 of us so we ordered one large fish bowl and one small fish bowl.. what are those??? You may ask!!!
Well, they are REAL fish bowls that are filled with shots and junk, like a trash can punch... STRONG!

Since I have alcohol restrictions because of my Celiac Disease, I was unable to have the "real" version of this drink, so out sweet friend Larry opted to just have the juice and rum with me.. The Lindsay Fish Bowl! (with 6 shots of Rum, in the small one and 12 in the large... WOW!) **Here is a little secret to Larry... buddy, you drank that thing all by yourself! I had like 2 sips (it was way to sweet!)**

Anyways.. we had a blast with these drinks and I wanted to share some pictures with you all!

Now, I know all you guys wanna come to Texas and drink one of these with us!!!

13 reasons why my brain is NOT working to think of 13 fun things to write about...

1. I have been up since 5 with a 45 minute cat nap that didn't help at all!

2. I have had a horrible sinus head ache all day... YUK

3. I just cant think of numerous anythings right now...

4. I am even having trouble posting this 13.

5. I have a hair appointment tomorrow and I cant even think of how to get my hair done.

6. It is 715 and I am getting in bed after this post.

7. Does Momnesia count?

8. What I am thinking about is that I need to do some laundry and I really don't want to.

9. I also need to vacuum the playroom and I think I will wait till tomorrow morning.

10. I am so mad at Comp USA, my camera was suppose to be in yesterday and it is still not here :( PLUS my old camera crapped out and lost some awesome pictures of Travis and Grace today.

11. My contacts are dry and need to come out of my eyes, I keep having to blink to see anything.

12. I cooked dinner tonight and hated that there were onions in it so I didn't eat and I am now hungry again.

13. I am just too darn tired to really think!
