Our Christmas is finally over....

Tonight was our last Christmas night... boohoo!
***
Because I was sick we had to postpone Christmas with Gavin's parents until tonight because they went to Arizona to be with the rest of the family on Christmas morning... We went to his parents house this evening for a late Christmas dinner and gifts... it was FUN and Travis really enjoyed himself! Here is a little collage of our night...
Christmas at Papa & Nana's House

Since I was making the collages on Picassa I decided to make one of Christmas at my parents house since I didn't post a thing about it except we all got sick...

Christmas at Paps and Gigi's House

We still have one more set of grandparents to spend time with... We are still waiting on them to come visit us!!! Hopefully they will make it down to the big TX soon!

My lil' Guy is crawling!

I never thought it would happen... I mean Travis has perfected the art of rolling to get places and things, but now he has started crawling and it happened in just a few minutes! For a few weeks now he has been going from laying down to sitting up to his hands and knees rocking and reaching for things, but nothing huge or worth writing about... Gavin and I had been attempting to show him how to move his arms and legs the "crawling" way and he just was not interested in anything but rolling to a place, sitting up and pulling up to cruise around. Then Travis and I were at my moms yesterday and we showed him again the right way to crawl on his hands and knees and then he did it... out of no where he started crawling forward and before we knew it he was cruising across the floor. Sloppy at first but then he started getting the hang of it. In the pictures you can see where he started and within just a minute or so he was fuming mad at me because he was having to crawl and I wasn't going to get him...
He still isn't to keen on the idea of crawling, but today he was right back at it...
He will crawl to get a toy but mostly he is crawling to a place to pull up and walk around something.
I just have a feeling this is not going to last long, he will be walking before I know it!

Time to "really" baby proof the house!

YUK!

Christmas with the Pukerson Family...

Yes, you read right... I wrote the Pukerson family!
Yesterday we were all over at my parents house, celebrating Christmas. Our friend Rachel had come over to take family pictures for us and we were all just in the Christmas Spirit... we opened our gifts at about 400pm after Gavin and Gabe ( my cousins boy friend) had gone to Circuit City to pick up the 60"DLP TV my mom was surprising my Step Dad with... Everything was just wonderful...
(cue the horror music)
Until about 530 when I started getting horrible stomach cramps, then my mom did also. I decided that Gavin, Trav and I just needed to go go home before every one eats because I thought I was really going to be sick... and I was and so was my mom, cousin Ellen, her boyfriend Gabe, my brother, step dad, aunt hubby Terry and grandmother... Gavin, Travis and cousins Laura's family were the ones that missed it (so far)... We were all throwing up by 5 this morning... stomach bug or food poisoning, we have no idea!
I am feeling a bit better, still scared to eat a thing but hopefully it is just a 24 hour bug and I will not relapse... My mom, step dad and brother are all still in bed and the rest of the family braved the 5 hour drive back to Arkansas with this mess...
So, in our Christmas book that we write in every year, this is the year with the Pukerson Family..YUK
I am just praying that Travis and Gavin do NOT get this nasty bug!
***
I hope Santa isn't afraid to come to our house!

***
...and just for Gavin's amusement ( and because he begged me) I added this family guy clip...
Let me WARN you... It is NASTY!

The Eve of the Eve of Christmas Eve...

I am sitting at my moms house anxiously waiting for my family to drive in any second... Travis is asleep in my moms room, Gavin and my Step Dad went somewhere, and my brother has already started working on our Mexican Dinner! A tradition in our family is to have Tamales and Chili the nights before Christmas, and since tomorrow we are celebrating Christmas with everyone we are having that meal tonight! OH, I Cant wait! I guess I will be cheating a little on my low calorie, low carb diet... Since I probably will not be posting for a couple days I wanted to write and wish you all a Merry Christmas from all of us here in Texas! See yah again in a few days!
Love, Lindsay

Grocery Store & Red Wine

I went to the grocery store this evening after I put my little man to bed... we are having family come in town starting Friday morning and I just thought the earlier I could get some stuff done the better... I got to Kroger and they had my favorite red wine (Yellow Tail) in a display close to the front because it was on sale... I grabbed one and put it in my cart and wheeled on, HA! It was like slow motion, the bottle fell out of the cart and shattered on the floor... wine and glass went everywhere. All over my shoes my jeans, it looked awful spreading across the floor. Can you just imagine what it looked like... I mean a cup of liquid spilled on the time looks like a lot, but an entire bottle of RED wine, WOW! Not to be gross but that would be a good prop for bloody scenes in movies. This sweet little lady stopped and asked if I was ok, of course I was but I was afraid to leave the mess because I didn't want anyone to get to close to slip and fall. The sweet lady went to the front and told someone for me... I thought that was wonderful considering about 20 other people passed and just snubbed their noses at me. Finally a Kroger employee got there with a wet floor sign and a mop, I tried to help but she wouldn't let me... and I offered to pay for the bottle and they turned me down. I felt so bad that someone had to clean my mess. I got another cart, another bottle of wine and continues shopping and then it was time to check out... HAHAHA! I am laughing just thinking about it! This young guy was getting my stuff out of the cart and grabbed the wine and smirked, then he said "you know some on just broke a bottle like this over my the pharmacy"... I turned bright red and told him it was me. We both cracked up and I went on my way. Before Travis was born things like this happened to me all the time... but since I had him I had gotten better with my clumsy luck UNTIL today! OH NO, I hope I don't continue like this, ARGH!

Template Winner... Cyndi!

The winner of the free template contest received her new template today... Please go check it out HERE

Busted!

Its 2am here in Texas and normally when Trav wakes up in the middle of the night just talking I give him a few minutes to get re-settled and he will go back to sleep... HA, that is not the case anymore! These pictures were taken a few days ago, this is him getting busted after waking up from his nap. He will pull himself up and jump holding on the side of his crib and then let go and fall backwards on his booty... he cracks himself up and does it over and over and over again. The problem is I am scared he is going to knock his chin on his bed ( that would really hurt bad)... so I cant just let him hang out anymore, I have to get up and check. Then he will see me and think it is play time... like right now, I ended up having to make him a bottle, fed him and now I am in the office typing this while I am listening to see if he decides to get up and bounce again... He is in there talking to himself and every once in a while he will giggle, he must be telling himself jokes HAHAHAA! I so wish I knew what he was talking about... I can not believe my child is big enough to stand up in his crib and jump, where has time gone?

Teething AGAIN... ARGH!

Trav MUST be working on his top teeth because the drool is coming like Niagara Falls and he has been SOOO crabby...Tonight it was so bad I had no idea what to do??!! So, I pulled out a mommy-made popsicle and he LOVED IT! I mixed 1/2 apple juice with 2/3 water and poured it in one of those popsicle freezer thingys... like this one HERE
This popsicle was the biggest hit EVER!

He froze his little mouth... but kept on at it!

Momma's hit the Mother "Load"!

Its 1 am and Travis had been wide awake now for almost 2 hours... my hubby is sick in the master bath (he didn't listen to me when I said 4 egg nog's with rum, 2 gin and tonics and 3 beers do not mix) he is hating life right now... and then there is me! I am between rooms taking are of Gavin and then rocking and singing to Travis!
Oh NO! it is gonna be a long night for this Momma!

Sunday, December 17th

Today was a great day! We had our soccer friend mini Christmas party... there are 4 couples and three of us have kiddos... Unfortunately Katey (Lacy's little one) was sick so she didn't join us today... All the adults draw names and get a $20 present and then the kiddos usually get gifts from everyone! It ends up just being a blast, Gavin and I are in charge of the meat (since my hubby ROCKS on the grill!) and everyone else brings side items! Laura is out desert specialist so she makes an awesome cake, pie or just goodies every year, Rekha is out 7 layer dip lady... let me tell yah this still is YUM! Lace and Gar had a special recipe for beans (with pineapple) so good! We all pig out, the guys drink eggnog (I HATE IT!) and we open gifts and have fun! Today the boys went upstairs and watched a movie and Rehka and I got to hang out with the short men... This is the first time the boys have really been able to play together, Trav has always been too small until now. Daniel is almost exactly 1 year older then Travis, he is a St.Patty's day baby! Rekha and I are already seeing that the future is gonna be messy with these two!
Check out these cute pictures of the boys...

My Birthday!

I have had a great birthday.... starting last night and well it is only 8 pm here is Texas, so I have 4 hours left! Gavin surprised me with a happy hour at this restaurant/bar down the street... He tried so hard to make it a surprise but secretly I knew the whole time... not for any reason, but his actions the day entire day leading up to the happy hour. We got there and 3 of my friends were waiting and I really was excited! then a ton more showed up over the next hour or so... My drink of the night was red wine... my teeth were permanetly purple and I was wearing a glass or two by the nights end, that was a very common occurrence 18 months ago before I got preggers!! It was so good to see everyone it had been a while since Gavin and I got to go out and just chill.. ( my mom had Trav) It is so different to hang out with single friends after you get married and totally different after you have a kid... I felt way older then all of them.
Then this morning Gavin let me sleep in and he got up with Travis! It was nice to sleep in BUT I was terribly hung over and needed to drink a gallon of water but didn't have the energy to do it. I finally fell out of bed about 1030 and we all got ready and went to my parents house to hang out for a while... Travis and I helped my mom wrap Christmas presents and then I got to open my b-day stuff! Gavin got me the DKNY watch that I wanted and an awesome picture frame (frames are my favorite gifts to receive...you can never go wrong buying me a frame!) My mom and stepdad got me a blue jean jacket and a silver pendant necklace with my initials engraved on it... I have gotten so many hilarious b-day card... those are my favorite things to get! I love reading silly cards and all my friends know how to pick the very best! Everyone always asks after you have a birthday if you got everything you wanted... and at the end of this evening I fulfilled all my b-day wishes, I got to rock my sweet baby boy to sleep and love and kiss him at the end of my first day of being 27 years old! There just does not seem to be anything better then that!
Here are some of the pictures we took....

!YAY!
If you wanna sign up last minute click HERE
!GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE!
***
edited to add....
Nicole asked how the winner is going to be picked...
here is the answer! I have to pull 2 people out of the running, those are Melanie and Lacy and the reason why (in case you wanna know...) Lacy is my best friend and I am making her a new template for her birthday present and Melanie is a bloggin bud of mine I designed a blog for a few months ago and I already promised her I would fix her header as soon as she send pictures.. hint, hint!
So, back to picking the winner.... I want it to be as fair as it possibly can, so I am going to write everyone's name on a piece of paper, put them in a hat and let my hubby draw the winner... I will take pictures to document this all really happened!!!

Baby Shoes.... Oh my!

Today Travis and I went to Walmart to get baby food and junk and they had their baby shoes on sale... you know the ones that every baby should have to have. The ones our parents had bronzed when we were kids... so, I bought Trav a pair of those and a pair of tennis shoes... He loves to walk in his walker and is pulling up on everything (WILD MAN!) I just thought this would be a good time to get him use to shoes...
How the HELL do you get these things on your kids feet? I unlaced them because Trav curls his toes and has some chubby feet... I put his feet in them, smooshed then around and then stood him up and made him jump (HAHAHAHA!) and so I thought they were on his feet, toes forward and heels down. YAH RIGHT! I put him in his walker and in 2.5 second he had them both turned in to where it looked like his ankles were broken and he was walking on top of them. I tried again... and again they were off in a split second. How do I get these boogers on his feet? I need some super glue and duct tape! I found the fact that I could not get these shoes on my kids feet pretty amusing, considering I nannied triplets in college and put 6 shoes on chubby feet numerous times a day with not one problem! What to do? Anyone have any advice? I can tell yah one thing, he looks so cute in "real" shoes!

Million Dollar Dinner

No, we did not eat a million dollars worth of food... hahahaha! That would be a hell of a lot of food huh?! Gavin's work had a dinner tonight congratulating the guys and gal (just 1 gal) for selling over a million in sales per person! The sales guys got to invite there favorite techy guy (my hubby) and so we got to go YAY! There were 13 of us there... including one other guy that does Gav's job, his wife, 4 sales guys 2 with wives and 2 with spouses out of town and then 2 bosses and one brought his wife... fun stuff! I really enjoyed every person there, they were all very nice and welcoming! I lost my voice yesterday and today I sound just plain AWFUL! Just what you want to happen the day you meet your husbands work colleagues. It was ok though, they all kindly said "huh?" every time I chimed into a conversation.... and after a few glasses of wine I wanted to chime in constantly but I had a barrier... DAMN voice box! So, we went to this pretty awesome restaurant in Highland Park... if you are familiar with the Dallas/ Fort Worth area.. if not it is a very old part of town with amazing houses and shopping. This restaurant was small in size but huge in service. We had 2 servers waiting on our table hand and foot. The "bosses" kept bottles full of yummy wine circling the table and then we got to order.. The menu was a tid bit overwhelming for someone like me who has never had a meal so expensive! I got Salmon and it was wonderful, it ranks in the top 2 that I have had (2nd to my hubbies of course!) Over all the evening was fun, I got to dress up, drink wine and know that my son was being spoiled at home by his wonderful Gigi. But to top off my evening... it was good to hear from Gav's bosses that he is a great asset to his team!
BRAVO BABE, I am so very proud of you!

What if???

If there was a switch on your child that went from normal to lay down and relax because mommy feel like crap.... Do you think parents would abuse it? Man, I would be flipping that switch to lay down and relax because today I feel awful!
My hubby is returning home today from a 5 day trip to California for work, and I could not be more happy! We he is gone I just do not work the same... First of all I do not ever really sleep and I get scared at night over nothing, the power went out and I about came unglued, when my overly mellow dog runs through the house into my sons room (very protective) I grab a butcher knife, and all this when my alarm is on lock down! I tell yah, when Sasha ran into Trav's room, his door was almost closed all the way, she plowed through it, howled and woke him up... this was the night the power went out 3 times, and this was at 3am. I thought someone was trying to take him. My heart fell out of my body and I was ready to kick some butt... My adrenalin has not pumped that hard in a very long time!
I think the reason I am sick is because I have not slept too well all week... I can NOT wait for him to be home and my body can just die for 10-12 hours! I have missed him terribly, not just for the protection, but just to have him here! Some times we get so use to the every day norm that we forget what we have till it is gone for a week. I can tell Travis is missing his Dada, he has been talking about him all week... well that and Dada is his favorite word (heehee)
My wonderful mom did offer for us to come stay at her place this week, but this is her busy time of year and I just did not want to interrupt her beauty sleep... she has already helped out so much during the days!

On another exciting note, one of my favorite bloggers is back posting from a long break! If yah can go over and see Nicole at All that Sassafrass and show her some bloggy love!

What They think!

I have always wondered what the animals think of the Holidays... My cats flip out the second they see us going into the attic and pulling out boxes... it is like they know it is time to attempt to climb the tree. 2 years ago on their first Christmas and first fake tree experience, the cats slept half way up the tree in the branches for weeks. Last year we just put our small tree up (3 feet), and they were smarter then to attempt climbing up a tree that was only double their size... Then this year, They have both attempted the climb with no luck, they are heavy enough now that the limbs just flop down and they fall off.... this is not helping my beautifully wrapped presents. HA! Sasha on the other hand could not care less if the tree is up, glitter everywhere ect... as long as she can still get outside and on the couch, well besides the ocassional sniff to make sure their is nothing worth eating under the tree! This comic cracked me up and I thought I would share! Anyone have any funny holiday pet stories??? If so either tell us in a comment or post about it and leave your link! I LOVE silly pet stories they make me smile! :)

How much is that Doggy in the window? ruff! ruff!

During the day Sasha, my sweet oversized puppy, usually sits in our dining room where the front window is and lays her head on the window seal and just stares. I have always wondered what in the world is so interesting out there and today Travis wondered the same thing! He was in his walker tearing around the house and he came into the dining room and tried his hardest to maneuver his little walker into this tiny space to get next to Sasha and the window. Instead of letting him tear up the chairs and the wall, I picked him up and sat him at the window. He loved it... he was banging on the window seal, pointing at the glass (almost touching it) and trying to pull up but his socks were to slippery... I thought it would be fun to go outside and see what he would do if I were on the other side of the glass... he thought it was the coolest ever. He was cracking up at me.. and I was cracking up back at him. I am sure the view for the front of my house was a riot, me bent over in front of my window cracking up... I would have laughed out loud if I was someone doing that :)
I think after about 5 minutes of us playing by the window Sasha was a bit burnt out that we were in her place... she finally sighed really big and laid in front of the door!

Holiday RUDENESS!

I do not know what it is about the holidays that gets everyone so edgy? I have had a few little encounters the past couple of days that have just blown me away...
***
My friend Michelle (the one that just had the baby) and I were talking last week about this segment on the Today's show about how rude people are and how inconsiderate... we decided that we both were going to try harder to pay more attention to the people around us and just be more considerate... I have always tried to be respectful to everyone around me, saying Mam and Sir... opening doors and helping anytime I could, but sometimes it is just said to open air because no one seems to listen, everyone is always in their own little worlds. After that talk we went to Babies R Us and I saw this older lady climbing the toy shelves trying to get the last one of these stacker toys for her grand baby that was right there also... I walked behind her and asked if I could help, since I am pretty tall and could almost reach it without my tippy toes and she stepped back and waited. I grabbed the toy and handed it to her and with NO thank you, she walked away from me... WHAT? Not even a thank you... How Rude!

I was driving home from running an errand the other day, and came to a 4 way stop. I was in the middle lane and had a car on my left that was turning left and another car on my right turning right... Across from us there was a lady in the turn lane that had gotten to the stop sign well after me and another car going straight... so it was our turn to go and all 3 of us on my side started moving.. and that lady across from me (turning to her left) cut me off, rolled down her window, flicked me off and screamed F-you... I was shocked, she had a car full of children and I was in the right of way... I usually do not let fools like that lady get to me because obviously she was the one that was having a bad day, but my heart kinda started hurting for her... she has to be so miserable that she would curse like that to a perfect stranger in front of children for no reason at all.

Then last night, Gav, Trav and I went to dinner at this really yummy but pretty popular resturant down the street from us... I dropped Gavin off at the front door with the diaper bag and our high chair cover and Travis and I went to find a parking spot... the little area had numerous restaurants close together so all the spots close were taken so I drove around behind the building and parked in a safe area that I felt would be easy for Travis and I to get to the front door easy without getting too cold (since it was 40 outside.. Brrrr!) I got out of the front seat and jumped in the back with Travis, got him all bundled and we started walking to the restaurant... we get there and I open the door to walk in and this man is coming through the 2nd door and he looked right at us and slammed the door in my face. I was a little mad about it, but again just shocked! Someone stole all the gentlemen in this world...

What is the Deal? Are people in this world just too wrapped up with their own drama to care about the world around them?
I vow to myself and to you dear internet, that I will NEVER be one of those people!

Lights Happy Holidays!

ps. I have had a few concerned posts about the lights being too hot for T's baby skin... All these pictures were taken in less then 5 minutes and I kept checking the temp. along with my attempts to keep him from eating the lights! Thanks for your concern!

Guess who is 9 months old today???

Happy 9 months Travis!
