HALLOWEEN

My little guy and his 2 costumes!
First of all he HATED and I mean HATED the spider costume that I planned on having him wear today. ( totally bummed me out because it is a family hand-me-down and both of my cousins kiddos have worn it, check out those 2 lil' spiders HERE) I got it on him just long enough to get a few pictures.... and then had to come up with another idea for a costume. So, since his room is all western we have a TON of cowboy stuff for T. A COWBOY HE WAS, topped off with a little hat, a bandana blanket and stuffed horse... and he loved it!

Happy Halloween!

Living with a
Little Goblin!
It has been a scary, scary place in our household the past few days!
Travie is teething... this time it is for real! He wont eat, wont sleep, his gums are swollen, he is miserable...
It breaks my heart to see him hurting like this... I want so badly for his pain to go away!TEETHING SUCKS!
POOR ITTY BITTY BABY!
Just in time for Halloween!
Hopefully when we wake up in the morning (if we actually sleep!) he will look like a little jack-o-lantern with one tooth in the front!
Our Halloween Plans...
Halloween afternoon, Travie and I are going up to Gavin's work... his work is having a little Halloween festival for the kiddos and families of all the employees! It should be pretty cool since I have only met 3 of the guys Gav works with... and it is always fun to show off our super cute baby :) heeheehee! Then back home to answer the door and pass out candy for all the other little ghosts and goblins in the neighborhood!
I will post some pictures of Trav in his costume as soon as I can tomorrow!
HAVE A HAPPY AND SAFE HALLOWEEN!

NOT AGAIN!

Remember this Post??
Where I saw that old highschool meanie and she was just plain RUDE to me?
Anyways.. today my best friend Michelle, who is 34 weeks preggo, Travie and I all went to Walmart and guess who we saw??!!?
NO JOKE!
That mean girl was there with the same friend that was with her the last time and another girl... I saw her before she saw the 3 of us and pointer her out to Michelle... then she saw us and smiled, I said "looks like we keep running into each other shopping"... or something neutral like that... and smirked and we walked away... Michelle was not a happy camper, just the reminder of how mean she was sent her in a tizzy... she told me after we passed that she gave her a You messed with my friend smile that should have pierced through her face...
Why? Why? Why?
Why did I have to see that girl again? She just puts a bad taste in my mouth!
ARGH!
This is from Travis....

Bye Bye Bottle...

My baby is becoming a big boy!
I guess some milestones are great and happy to witness and others are just plain SAD!
I have been giving Travie juice mixed with water in a sippy cup for a while now and he does great with most sippy cups and likes them but has never become attached... until now!
I was at Walmart the other day and came across these Nuby short fat sippy cups, and thought they would be easy for him to hold and easy to travel with. I NEVER expected him to love them like he does. My child will not drink out of his bottle anymore, it has to be a sippy cup. And not just any sippy cup... this particular kind! This has to be a good thing, right? I mean all the books you read say that you should wean your babe off the bottle by a year old so they do not get Baby Bottle Mouth Tooth Decay (warning the pictures are gross!) This is all because a child can not control the flow of the nipple and can on a sippy... blah blah blah, most mammas know this fun stuff! Anyways, this is a milestone that is making me sad. He has always had his formula out of a bottle, now he is growing up and wanting a big boy cup... OH MY! He is a big boy now!!
So, after washing the 3 of these I have constantly all day, I have decided that I need to go back to Walmart and buy some more... The best part about these cups (well besides the fact that they are the cheapest you can get) is that the handles are attached to the nipple and lid, so that you do not have a ton of separate pieces... the lid also rocks! The bummer about these is that there is not a mark on the sides to measure water for his formula... Maybe there will be one similar with the marks on it...
I am afraid to blink, I do NOT wanna miss a thing!
He is becoming such a big boy!

SouthBeach and WorkOut update...

Today is day 3 of my new attempt to loose this baby weight!!!
So, far I have done GREAT! I have not cheated at all with the food and have workout out every day! My friend Tasha asked about bootcamp... Well, I took 2 weeks off because I pulled a muscle in my leg and it was the start of a new session so I thought I would just start back when my leg healed, well it is still BAD! I did Taebo Tuesday night and could barely walk afterwards it hurt so bad, and yesterday I went to the Rec. Center and tried to run and it was just so sore I had to stop and do something else... which was just a mess! The Rec. Center is close to my moms house and I use to work out there in highschool, about 10 years ago when I first started going there... and since I was about to drop T off at moms I thought I would try and go there, see if I like it and sign up... well because it is WAY cheaper then any gym... ($120/year) HAHAHAHA! What my mom forgot to tell me was that the place has been taken over by impatient old people, and I am talking my grandparents age and older! IMPATIENT. OLD & MEAN! OH goodness... I tried to run on the indoor track, there are 3 lanes... walk, pass and jog... I think these older women think the "rules" do not apply to them, because they were walking in all 3 lanes and when I had to weave in and out to continue my run, they all were not to happy with me... oh well! Then I went tot he weight room... and EVERYTHING was taken but the 2 stair steppers... So, I hopped on one and started my workout, this lady turned to me and said, "you are not allowed to be on that machine without signing up"... SIGNING up... are you kidding, they didn't use to make you SIGN UP just to use a machine. So I got down and signed up and got back on the stepper... she glared at me the whole time... WHAT? So, after my venture to the Rec.. Center, I decided that I am years too young to workout there... Bummer! Because it was cheap and close to my moms house...
Now, I am going to be searching for the perfect gym for me!
Anyone had any luck?
What about Curves? LA fitness? 24 Hour? Lady of America? Any advice?
** and about my darn stubborn muscle... I called the Dr. yesterday to look at it for the 2nd time, hopefully I will get a return call with some advice, and appointment or an x-ray...

And I will try again....

Today was my first day on my new life changing venture to change my health, weight and life...
The 800th new attempt to do so...
I am going back on the SouthBeach Diet, I did it before I got married and lost a ton of weight, was extremely healthy and felt GREAT! (well great after the first 2 weeks!)
I am also adding new exercise routines with this... First, Taebo... I love me some Billy Blanks! I am also going to go to the gym a few days a week and run and life some weights... If this does not show me something, There HAS to be something wrong!
The SouthBeach diet is my last and final attempt, it is rough the first 2 weeks that is why I have been putting it off... I mean NO sugars, NO fruits, NO carbs.. AHHHHH! BUT, this has to be done, I talked to my Dr yesterday and he said with my fathers family history of heart disease ect... I needed to get this weight off and get healthy..
So, last night I made an enormous grocery list consisting of proteins and veggies and T and I went to Walmart today to get it all... I usually HATE grocery shopping at Walmart, but that is where I buy T's formula and diapers, so 1 stop shopping works best with a baby!!!
Obviously, this shopping was wearing the poor babe out...
This is him in the check out line... past out cold!
These are from my cell phone camera, so they are a little blurry...
My motivation.. this little guy!
I NEVER want to miss a second!
I will be posting updates on my progress!
Cross your fingers for me!!
I need ALL the help I can get!

Gracie & Travie

Today, I babysat a friends little girl... Grace, while she and her hubby go on vacation. Gracie is 2 weeks older then Travis and already crawling and able to get into so much stuff... Her and Travis LOVE each other and had SO much fun today... Let me tell yah, if God were to ever give me twins, I would hope they would be as compatible as these two! ( it made it so much easier that only of of these guys was mobile!) It was so fun to watch them interact and the make it better they both took naps at the same time that lasted almost 2 hours! WOOHOOO!
Here is a little cheesy video of our day together...
The most amusing part is both kiddos were absolutely in love with the door stop!

This is my 400th post...
!WOW!
I can NOT believe I have posted 400 things to this blog!
So, I thought since this is my 400th post I would do a little tribute to all my previous posts and add a link to my all time favorite post EVER!

Furry Cookie Thief!

I am so very mad at my dog today...
... and NO, I am so NOT kidding!

Sasha Bear... My first child, she is now a 7 1/2 year old not very high mantaincenced Akita and you would think she would be over this BAD dog behavior!

When I was preggo I did a TON of research on how to get your dog.. and an older dog, ready for a baby to come home. I was strict in her running through certain high traffic areas in the house, just in case I would be walking with the baby and she would trip is... she did GREAT! I taught her to walk in slowly from the back yard so she wouldn't trample us when she flies in. (and she does fly in to the house after being outside, it is like she wants to make sure the cats didn't steal her food!) We followed the "correct" steps before we brought Travis home by bringing her a blanket that smelled like him and giving her treats with his spit on it ( to show her that he is the alpha) She did GREAT when he came home... and still is very protective and loving to him... and she even will just sit and watch him play and inch closer and closer so he will pet her (grab her and rip her hair out adn she dioesnt even flinch) She is so very gentle and will let you take food right our of her mouth, and for being an Akita, that is wonderful! She went trough a weird stage of being super needy and acting like she was starving to death for attention a few months ago, but since has past and she is minding a little more... Anyways.. enough of how good she is!
SHE ATE MY GF COOKIES AGAIN!
this is the 2nd time
I bought these mixes that are gluten free cookies, brownies or cake, it is one mix but has recipes for all 3 things. YUM! I made some last night when our friend Larry was over becasue I wanted him to see just how yummy gluten free cookies can be... He did like them YAY!
Anyways, this afternoon I was heating up water to mix in Trav's bottle and I placed the cookies from the microwave onto the counter and ran to go to the bathroom... and when I came back the plate was on the floor and the BEAST had eaten ALL MY COOKIES!
This mix does not make many cookies at all, I think I got maybe 10 out of last nights batch and Larry and I had both had one last night... So, Sasha snatched 8 cookies in less then a minute. I bet she didn't even taste how good they were!
BAD DOG!

Check her out... Looking all comfy, curled up, like she did Nothing wrong!
Dang, Furry Cookie Thief!

He is a mess!

"My grandparents don't spoil me. They're just very accomodating!"

I had to post this picture of T... he is SUCH a cute MESS!

My decision!

After my discovery about the weirdos that find it OK to copy peoples blogs.. this is what I have come up with... I am going to delete my other 2 blogs and just keep this one...
Now that my little man is becoming so active, I barely get a chance to get online anyways... If I am lucky and he does nap, or in the 5 minutes of "play alone time" I give him... I still have so much other stuff to do, blogging has unfortunately becoming something I have to get done really fast...
So, 1 blog will work for me!

ummmmmmmmm...

Blogity, blog, blog blog....
I was reading a fellow bloggin' mammas blog earlier today (from my blog roll) and came across a post of hers that got my brain working...
~ and TRUST ME, when you click on her post and read it.. you will want to continue on the chain of blogs and articles about this subject, but Please do come back and let me know how you feel about it all~
I am all up in arms now about posting personal info, pictures of Travis ect...
I knew from the beginning that all this info is now forever on the internet, but please now there is proof it is all getting stolen and used to make money for others.., B.S.!
So, what to do? I LOVE blogging... LOVE IT!
I need some advice from you other bloggers and mammas out there...
~~~
Should I...
1...Just continue on as normal and mark all my pictures with my site name like you see on other sites, so they are not easy to copy???
2... Delete my other 2 blogs, with all info about Travis and family pictures and just put it all on this one?
3... Go totally none personal?
~~~
I mean, I do not feel I write anything interesting enough to be stolen BUT there was a list I came across today in my researching this subject and I found some other blogs that had posts stolen and their stuff was just as simple and plain as some of the things I write about.
AHHHH, I am really having a hard time with this... I DO not care about my stuff, my posts, my silly art work, but I do care about my son and his pictures.
WHAT TO DO???
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!ADVICE PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

40 years...

An Anniversary to Remember!

F
orty years together you have loved,
O pening a door to love for me.
R omantic hearts bequeath a harmony
T hat proves more rich than any life might prove.
Y ears pour like water rapidly downstream,
Y ielding harvests gleaned in fields to come,
E ach waiting for the heart to bring it home,
A ccumulating in an undreamt dream.
R ejoice, then, in a beauty never gone,

S ustained by songs more sweet because passed on.

You may be wondering why I have a poem about being together for 40 years... Well, let me tell yah! One of Gavin's longest friends since he has lived in Texas, and she has become a GREAT friend of mine threw a HUGE surprise anniversary party for her parents! Actually she through her parents for a HUGE loop... She had both of their siblings fly in and show up at dinner where she was taking her parents to "celebrate" their anniversary... I am not sure exactly how she did it, but needless to say her parents were floored... Then as her parents were pre-occupied with family, she decorated and put together an amazing surprise anniversary party for them at her house.. She invited friends, family, extended family, their neighbors and of course the siblings that were in town already. We all got there about 45 minutes before they were suppose to show up and were anxiously waiting.. The house was full and Travis actually had 2 little girlfriends ( 2 & 5 months) and a big boy (3 yrs) to check out! Rach had a friend on look out upstairs in her house so we would know when to all be quite... Funny thing is, after having all their siblings come in town, her parents showed up to the party in separate cars and at separate times... hahahah! But the blast is, they has NO idea and were both surprised anyways! Gavin and I had a great time, Trav fell asleep at about 8 and we laid him in Rachel's guest bed, which was downstairs by all the action... and he tends to sleep more sound when there is noise. He did great, had a bit of a wiggly time getting comfy, but afterwards did awesome! We hung out, had a glass or two of wine, I got to brag about my son :) and talk to all the other young moms... I really had the best time I have had in many many months! Rachel's mom was glowing, she was so happy, it was wonderful to see... The night was flawless, and I do not know if I told Rachel how PROUD I was of her enough, I know I said it a few times, but DANG! That girl can plan a party! We left around 1045 and got Travis out of bed and into the car with NOT one crying fit!! GOOD BOY! He stayed awake the entire way home and I sang to him just to make sure he would stay calm. We got home, fed him a little bottle and he did his wiggly mess and was back to dream land! What an amazing night!!! I wish I could have shared it all with you, but most of all.. I hope that in 30-something years... Travis is planning a surprise 40th anniversary party for Gavie and I!!!

Thursday Thirteen

Thirteen Things that I have learned about having Celiac Disease....
I am picking this topic because I had a GREAT thing happen this week! I found a Flourless bread that is wonderfully delicious! This is the first time since I was diagnosed with CD that I have liked a bread product that is gluten free! !WOOHOOO! So my CD, it has been on my mind more so this week then it has in a while, So I thought I would share a few points with everyone.
~ This may seem like a strange topic to some, but after reading this you will be aware of the disease and yah never know you may be able to help someone with your new knowledge!~
***
1. Most people do NOT know what Celiac Disease is... or even what Gluten is, educating anyone that is willing to listen has helped my friends and family deal with my lifestyle change.
2. Check and DOUBLE check simple things like potato chips because some products do not like to announce if they have one of the 6 main food allergens, and the flavors of most chips do have gluten...
3. Celiac Disease affects the villi that line your intestines... it cause them to flatten and not absorb your nutrients, this cause it to be an intolerance not a food allergy.
4. Most restaurants have a menu or sheet that will list what ingredients are in certain foods, and some have Gluten Free Menus (like Olive Garden!)
5. Asking for special attention when it comes to cooking your food is NOT a burden!
6. Health Food stores carry some of the BEST Gluten Free products, but regular grocery stores are getting involved in the Organic Foods now also!
7. To my Surprise, some vitamins, toothpaste, sodas, juices, make-up, lotions and candies have wheat in them. I just never realized that wheat could really be in a soda... WOW!
8. Alcohol... BIG topic! No beer for sure, but also there are a ton of malt beverages, and hard liquors that I can NOT have as well ( like Vodka, unless it is made from Potatoes).
9.There was a law passed that requires all foods to list the 8 main food allergens... It has changed my life!
10. It is a hereditary disease.. so one of my parents is a carrier and neither one of them have it yet... I say YET because Celiac Disease can come on at ANY time in your life, as a newborn, kid, teen or even as a grandparent... There is NO rhyme or reason to when it will affect your body.
11. As an infant, most babies show signs of having Celiac Disease (if it has decided to become visible) by 6 months... there is a blood test to do between 12-18 months. Travis will have this test even though he has not shown any signs so far! THANK YOU LORD!
12. If you do accidentally get Gluten in your system, you will known within an hour or so, sometimes it is a little problem and other times it is time to go to the ER. Thank goodness I have only had it bad enough to go to the ER when I was first Diagnosed.
13. When you are gluten intolerant one of the first signs is Dermatitis, a skin rash, that can show up almost anywhere on your body... this is your body trying to get it out of your system.
If you have any questions or want to learn more PLEASE write me.. I love educating people on this disease!
Here are some of my fav sites...

5 for 5 meme!

Five For Five
My favorite Lori at Laurel Wreath tagged me for this new Meme I have not done one in a while, so here I am!!!

1) Five Minutes to yourself. How would you spend them ideally?

Napping, even if it is just for 5 minutes!
Taking a walk
Blogging... of course!
Sitting on the porch swing
decorating something, anything!!!

2) Five Dollars to spend right now. How or where would you spend it?

Sonic.. I love their Ice so an Ice Tea from there is GREAT!
Peanut butter M&M's
Frosty from Wendy's
I can not think of anything else....
can you tell I am kinda hungry!

3) Five Items in your house you could part with right now?

Sasha's overly furry dog bed
The extra cables and cords that some how gather in numerous places in my house, I have NO idea where they come from!
Is the garage considered in the house??? if so PLEASE someone take my hubby's old dirt bike that has not worked in a very very long time!
This awfully ugly broken desk chair that is being used for storage in the office.
My Hubby's sub-woofer that is so nicely taking up space in my kitchen... ARGH!

4) Five Items in your house you absolutely, positively could never part with?

If people and animals are not included... Here are my other 5

Our dining room table and chairs. I seriously can not remember a day in my life that they have not been around...
Our Armoire in the living room, My grandmother made it and it is wonderful!
The furniture (dresser and changing table) in Travis' room, they were mine when I was a baby... very special pieces of furniture!
This is a lot of little things I am gonna say equal my #4
My wonderful collection of picture frames and more importantly the pictures that are inside them!!
The BEAUTIFUL jewerly box I had made after Gav and I got married, It has a few of our wedding flowers added in a glass container at the top, I LOVE IT!

5) Five Words you love?

LOVE
as in "I LOVE YOU!"
dadadadada
(Trav's first kinda word)
Momma, Mommy, Mama, Mamamama
though I have not heard it from my sons mouth, being referred as a Mom really makes me smile!
Babe
Gavin calls Travis and I his Babes!
Travis' words a.k.a.Baby Babble
the ohhs and ahhs of Travis when he is waking up...

5 people I will tag...

Hi there!

Ok, its about time for a post that does NOT have anything to do with a sick baby or a sick momma....
***
I am so excited!!! Gavin and I decided to turn our office into the play room/office. He moved his work stuff upstairs so he could work in peace away from the main Travis areas and so we figured this area would be the best place! We are selling our HUGE corner desk ( I put in on Craigslist this morning) and I am wanting to get an armoire work station, that way I can close it all up and lock it so my little guy will not get into all the grown up stuff. We are going to stick with the animal print theme that I have in here already and just make it a jungle playroom... I am contemplating painting a mural or getting one of those wallpaper murals you stick on the wall...I have found one that I love.. it is like looking out of a window onto the jungle land...
Here is a little thumbnail of it ->
I think it will keep the playroom fun yet classy...
I am also wanting to get these cabinets with "writing board" (chalkboard) from Ikea for when he gets a little older... Check those out HERE and also from Ikea these awesome magnetic bar racks HERE to hang pictures and his drawings when he gets bigger!
this will all come together eventually!!! The sooner we sell the BIG desk the sooner I can get some new stuff for this room! I am so pumped to have a new room to decorate!
***
I just wrote and posted something on Workin' Out about how discouraged I am about not loosing the weight that I feel should be falling off for as hard as I work out in bootcamp... PLEASE check that out and shoot me some advice! I need it!

T's Follow Up...

Today we had Travis' follow up Dr's appointment and it went well... besides the fact that we were there for over 2 hours and waited for over an hour and a half YUK, I complained to the Dr and she refunded our co-pay!!!! that was nice! Travis sounded great and only needs breathing treatments if he has a breathing issue... great news! We were referred to a ENT Dr to get his head checked out... I have horrible allergies and they run in my family really bad so we thought we would get him checked out before he gets diagnosed with allergies or asthma, and the Dr thinks Trav's lung issue came on by allergies since we have been outside so much... so, our appointment with the ENT is next week.
Thank you for all for your sweet words and prayers!
another fun group of pictures...
I am writing this post at my moms house and I have all my sonogram pictures saved here and thank goodness because my home computer crashed right after he was born and we lost them all...

These are of 8 weeks, 16 weeks and 20 weeks... looking a these just prove what an amazing experience it is to see images of your child before they are even born! How cool!

What a week...

It has been quite a week here in my world!
but
My little guy is doing great!
Yesterday my Momma came over and hung out with us and we though Travis was on the fast road to recovery until his late afternoon nap... when he sounded like he was really have a hard time forcing air in and out of his little lungs. I called the after hours number for out Dr. and got a return call almost immediately! The Dr on call was one of my favs and he suggested I take Trav to A*cute Kids, which is like a pediatric Primacare... My mom, Trav and I all got in the car and off we went... The Dr. there was really NOT 100% in the room with us when we were talking to her... she seemed like she wanted to get out of there as fast as she got in... NOT acceptable to me! We kept asking her question after question about Trav and his breathing and she was NOT concerned about him at all... she told us to put the vaporizer on in his room and close the door so it all stays in there... That's it. So, we got home, bathed the little man, did his breathing treatment while he was playing in the bath tub (which he LOVED) and put him to bed... and it was wonderful, I did not hear one gasp, not one snore, NOTHING! Thank the Lord!
Today he was great, just a few strange breaths but nothing like it had been... so I guess her suggestion of the vaporizer was a good one!
Tomorrow we have a follow up appointment with the pediatrician, to check his lungs and breathing.. I am praying he passes with flying colors!

Another thing, all you guys that have been following my blog for sometime know that I have had a go-round with our pediatrician. Here is the post that tells my concerns...
Here is the good part!
I took Travis to our pediatrician and the waiting room was in shambles... Because they are adding on! They are adding a well-patient waiting room, a sick-patient waiting room, a breast-feeding room and a "big kid" waiting room... YAY! They have also added on 1 other Dr. and are working one 1 more... I am sooo excited! I LOVE all the Dr's there just hated the set up, and now it will all the fixed!
I am thrilled!
