poor neglected blog!

Where have I been???
Oh yeah, starting a new business!
It has been so much fun getting these art classes in the works!
I am in 2 locations now in the Hobby Lobby stores.
I am teaching 2 classes at each for a total of 4 in a week...
I have signed up for June and July and hopefully MORE once I see how popular these classes get!
I am so fortunate to have 1 class completely FULL and 1 more half way... the other 2 have a few kiddos but I need to get more info out so I can get more kiddos signed up!

I have started getting my projects ready for the first few classes and that in itself has been SO MUCH FUN! I have missed the hands on arts & crafts since the last 3 years I have done everything on the computer.

I have some of the BEST support a girl could EVER ask for! My best friends have been more helpful then I could imagine, passing out fliers for me, dropping off business cards, helping with lessons and just being a sounding board for ideas! I am going to have to take them ALL out to dinner as a thank you!

And to you... all my wonderful blog readers! THANK you for your support as well!
I cant wait to start posting about all my classes!

Its FINISHED!

Its a full blown business now! I am officially an art teacher! I have signed up to teach art classes in 2 different Hobby Lobby locations and have kiddos signed up already!
I am so thrilled this has happened so fast and I CAN NOT wait until the beginning of June when I can get started!

Feeding the Ducks

Travis and I went for a long walk around the pond in our neighborhood to feed the ducks...

He was so thrilled when this little mallard decided to get really close to him to check out the carbs on todays menu!

Travis grabbed 2 pices and threw them out to Mr. Duck and watched as he gobbled them up and then stood for a second staring at him...

and grabbed a few more pieces out of the bag and shoved them in his mouth. The duck just looked at him as if to say... " hey kid, those are for me!"

They had a staring contest for about 5 minutes as Travis continued to eat the cereal... I have NO idea why he was eating it, it was stale and chewy.

Travis then hands me the bag and starts walking away...

Mr. Duck just stood there looking a little sad that the kid ate his food :(

DoodleBugz is a keeper!

COMING SOON

I decided to go with Doodlebugz and not Little Brushes even thought I was initially in love with that name.

There was just more to do with the name Doodlebugz and unfortunately Little Brushes & Little Brushes Art (.com) were both taken.

I have started working on my site!!! YAH! It will be Doodlebugzart.com when it is up! I am finishing up my portfolio and have made some calls to places to host my classes. I am getting so excited!

If anyone has a location you think I should contact to host classes let me know!

New Ideas, New Poll!

My brain is on overload with all the ideas I am having for my new lil' business!
I have had many new business title ideas, TONS of help from friends and awesome support from my mom and hubby!

Its all been fun so far but there is still a TON to do before I will be actually teaching classes!

I have a few more names that I love...
I am creating a new poll with the top 2 from this current one and the 2 new ones.
So, PLEASE vote again!

I am also wanting to have a little character with my business...
ex. A doodle bug

I think kiddos would LOVE that!
